Nontrivial eigenvalues of the Liouvillian of an open quantum system

We present methods of finding complex eigenvalues of the Liouvillian of an open quantum system. The goal is to find eigenvalues that cannot be predicted from the eigenvalues of the corresponding Hamiltonian. Our model is a T-type quantum dot with an infinitely long lead. We suggest the existence of the non-trivial eigenvalues of the Liouvillian in two ways: one way is to show that the original problem reduces to the problem of a two-particle Hamiltonian with a two-body interaction and the other way is to show that diagram expansion of the Green's function has correlation between the bra state and the ket state. We also introduce the integral equations equivalent to the original eigenvalue problem.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, proceeding

    Pentaquark as Kaon-Nucleon Resonance

Several recent experiments have reported evidence for a narrow feature in the K(+)-neutron system, an apparent resonant state ~ 100 MeV above threshold and with a width < 25 MeV. This state has been labelled as Theta(+) (previously as Z(*)), and because of the implied inclusion of a anti-strange quark, is referred to as a pentaquark, that is, five quarks within a single bag. We present an alternative explanation for such a structure, as a higher angular momentum resonance in the isospin zero K(+) -N system. One might call this an exit channel or a molecular resonance. In a non-relativistic potential model we find a possible candidate for the kaon-nucleon system with relative angular momentum L=3, while L=1 and 2 states possess centrifugal barriers too low to confine the kaon and nucleon in a narrow state at an energy so high above threshold. A rather strong state-dependence in the potential is essential, however, for eliminating an observable L=2 resonance at lower energies.Comment: 4 page

The National Sports Festival, which was started in 1946, has been held annually as a nation widespread festival of sports for promoting sports broadly throughout the nation. However, it has been indicated that there are many problems regarding management and operation of the festival. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the opinions of host town\u27s residents about the National Sports Festival, during the unofficial approval period before the festival. The results of this paper were as follows; 1) The rate of people who have shown interest about the festival were almost 50%. 2) The factor which determined the opposition or support of the festival was "level of willingness to take part in the festival" and also "level of concerns about their community". 3) The rate of people who were willing to support local athletes were about 20%, 40% of people did not have such will, and the rest of 40% of the people were undecided. 4) The factor which determined the willing to support the festival was "volunteer spirit" and also "interest in the festival". 5) To our surprise, a factor regarding "past experience in sport activities" did not have any relationship with the opinion regarding the festival. These observation were obtained from the results of the multiple analysis, using quantification theory II.

Pairing Symmetry Competition in Organic Superconductors

A review is given on theoretical studies concerning the pairing symmetry in organic superconductors. In particular, we focus on (TMTSF)2_2X and κ\kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2_2X, in which the pairing symmetry has been extensively studied both experimentally and theoretically. Possibilities of various pairing symmetry candidates and their possible microscopic origin are discussed. Also some tests for determining the actual pairing symmtery are surveyed.Comment: 16 pages, 8 figures, to be published in J. Phys. Soc. Jpn., special issue on "Organic Conductors

In order to study community sports activities, it is necessary to clarify the meaning and values of sport though resident\u27s daily lifestyle as well as relationship between characteristic of the club and social structures. In this paper, a present condition of the island community sport club from an above point of view is examined. "AJISHIMA" is characterized by isle, depopulation, and aged society. As for social environment, the number of children is extremely few and usually young residents and male adult residents do not live in the island because of their jobs. In such a poor environment, "FUTAWATASHI" community volleyball club was organized in 1979. In spite of no stable group foundation and decrease of membership, the reasons for community sport club being continued to present day are following 4 factors. 1. teacher\u27s support and their school\u27s support 2. instructor\u27s leadership 3. existence of each member as a community leader 4. value of leisure activities in relation to island daily lifestyle These factors specify the uniqueness which come from island daily lifestyie. On the other hand, they also specify the meaning and value of sport toward member\u27s lifestyle and their way of life. For the reasons mentioned above, "FUTAWATASHI" community volleyball club was born out of necessity and grew naturally from island daily lifestyle and also it can be expressed as a community sport club which adhere closely to their lifestyle
