    Uji Sensitivitas Staphylococcus Spp. terhadap Beberapa Antibiotik yang Berbeda

    Staphylococcus is Gram-positive bacterium that could lead to an acute and chronic disease in poultry. This research was purposed to evaluate the antibiotics susceptibility of these Staphylococcus spp. against commonly used antibiotics in the field. This study uses isolates of Staphylococcus spp. of laying hens which showed a decrease in egg production. To test the sensitivity, antibiotics of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, tetracycline, gentamycin, colistin sulfate, and enrofloxacin were applied. Results found the sensitivity of Staphylococcus spp. to combination of amoxicillin-clavulanic acid 100%, gentamycin and enrofloxacin 70%

    Fenotipe Pasteurella Multocida Penyebab Bronchopneumonia pada Babi di YOGYAKARTA

    Pasteurella multocida is an important species that are suspected to cause bronchopneumonia in pigs. Prevalence of pneumonia pasteurellosis in slaughter house between 30-80%. The purpose of this study were determined the microorganisms that caused respiratory disorders (cough) or pneumonia in pigs in Yogyakarta area with morphological and biochemical tests. A number of 6 pigs were obtained from some pig farming in Yogyakarta with clinical symptoms of pneumonia were necropted, isolated and identified the cause of pneumonia, followed by histopathological examination of the isolates.The results showed that P. multocida is one of the main causes of bronchopneumonia in pigs in Yogyakarta with clinical symptoms of anorexia, dipsnoea, cough with serous to mucopurulent exudation. Pulmo showed grayish hepatization on dorsocranial, multifocal hemorrhagic and congestion. Histopathological changes found fibrinous bronchopneumonia and catharrhal bronchopneumonia

    Timorensis deer, an endangered species, is one of the native wildlifes in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. Therefore, it is important to protect the Timorensis deer population in this province. The purpose of this study is to determine haematology value of the Timor deer (Cervus timorensis). Blood samples were taken from four captive deers, owned by Kupang Forestry Research Institute, in Sonbai which are clinically health based on the general physical examination namely temperature and heart frequence. Hematological examination includes the number of blood cells, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value, erythrocyte indices, and the calculation of leukocytes. Results of this study showed that there were significant increasing the number of leukocytesis 8.42x103/μl and erythrocytes index is 8.24x106/μl

    Clostridium, a bacteria gram-positive and motile, has a rod-shaped that can produce spora. It is a bacteria pathogen if it is contained one or more type of toxins. Blood samples were taken from healthy breastfeeding Timoranses deer (Cervus timorenses) in Forestry Conversation Cage in Oil Sonbay, Kupang. The bloods were cultured in anaerob blood agar plate or Potato Agar Dextrose then incubated at 370 C temperature for 24-28 hours. The next tests were spora staining, catalase, oksidase, motil, Voges Proskauer (VP) and Indol test. The results of all tests showed that the bacteria in the blood samples were Clostridium spp

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman jenis endoparasit gastrointestinal dan pengaruhnya terhadap profil darah ayam kampung yang meliputi jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, Packed cell volume, dan jumlah total leukosit. Pengambilan sampel feses dan darah ayam kampung dilapangan sedangkan pemeriksaan dan identifkasi endoparasit pada feses ayam kampung serta pemeriksaan darah di laboratorium Kesehatan Hewan Program Studi Kesehatan Hewan Politani Kupang. Peubah yang diamati adalah morfologi atau ciri-ciri endoparasit dan gambaran darah terutama jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, Packed cell volume, dan jumlah total leukosit Seluruh sampel yang terkumpul diidentifikasi menggunakan mikroskop dibantu dengan panduan kunci identifikasi dan didokumentasikan menggunakan kamera digital, dan data gambaran darah yang diperoleh akan disesuakan dengan gambaran darah normal kemudian semua data yang diperoleh, diolah secara deskriptif. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan didaerah Kecamatan Amarasi Kabupaten Kupang. Dari pemeriksaan ditemukan telur cacing Ascaridia galli untuk semua sampel feses dan pemeriksaan darah menunjukkan bahwa jumlah eritrosit 3.782 X 10^6/µL, kadar hemoglobin 12.16  g/L, PCV 43.18%, dan jumlah total leukosit 112.5 X 10^3/µL

    Gambaran Histologi Daging Ayam Kampung (Gallus Domesticus) Yang Diberikan Ekstrak Daun Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa Bilimbi)

    Star fruit leaf (Averrhoa bilimbi) in this study were extracted making use of the maceration method and the solvent was absolute ethanol. This study aims to see the effect on free-range chicken meat due to the administration of wuluh starfruit leaf extract. Histological description of the meat was taken from the chest muscle (M. pectoralis) and thigh muscle (M. femoralis) which had previously been treated with starfruit leaf extract. The analysis was carried out descriptively by looking at the histology of free-range chicken meat and compared with the normal picture. The results indicated there is no effect between the administration of starfruit leaf extract on the histology of native chicken meat. It can be seen that the muscle structure is normal, there are no dimensions and shape-changing of the muscle fibers and connective tissue. Conclusions can be drawn that the antibacterial ability of starfruit leaf, shows no effect on the chest and thigh muscles structure of native chickens
