The present research work emphasized on evaluates the Phytochemical & Pharmacological activities of the fruits of Scindapsus Officinalis (Roxb) (Araceae). The fruits of the plant were shade dried, reduced to coarse powder with the help of grinder was subjected to successive soxhlet extraction with Petroleum Ether and 90% v/v Ethanol (Emparta). The various extracts were then subjected to preliminary phytochemical screening which revealed the presence of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenols, carbohydrate, lipids, alkaloids & steroids. Selection of active extract for in vivo studies was based on preliminary phytochemical tests and in vitro glucose diffusion inhibition potential and accordingly, ethanolic extracts were chosen for further studies. The pharmacological screening included evaluation of the antidiabetic and hypolipidemic activity of ethanolic extracts (200mg/kg and 400mg/kg b.w) on Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The ethanolic extract was found to be more effective and brought about significant antidiabetic & hypolipidemic potential. This was due to the presence of one or more phytoconstituents present in ethanol extract. Keywords: Scindapsus Officinalis (Roxb); Antidiabetic; Anti-hyperlipidemic; Streptozotocin

The fruits of the plant were shade dried with the help of grinder was subjected to successive soxhlet extraction with Petroleum Ether and 90% v/v Ethanol. The extracts were screened for quantitative estimation of total flavonoids, tannins, total phenols, and alkaloids. Effect of extracts of Scindapsus officinalis Roxb in 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging method was evaluated for in-vitro antioxidant activities. The quantity of DPPH reduced could be quantified by measuring a decrease in absorbance at 517 nm. The IC50 value was found to be 45.21and 40.11μg/ml for ethanolic extracts while the IC50 value of ascorbic acid was 18.53μg/ml significantly reduced DPPH radical by bleaching it.  The ethanolic extract was found to be near to standard compounds and brought about significant antioxidant potential. This was due to the presence of one or more phytoconstituents present in ethanol extract. Keywords: Scindapsus Officinalis (Roxb); DPPH; antioxidant, ascorbic acid

Study on Transmission Line and Associated Varying Parameters, Devices and Control Algorithms

    Get PDF
The transmission line is the most important part of the electricity network. The need for electricity and its affiliations have increased exponentially in modern times and the main task of a transmission line is to transmit electricity from the area of ??origin to the distribution network. The explosion between limited production and huge demands placed more emphasis on reducing power losses. Losses like transmission loss and also conjecture factors as like as physical losses to various technical losses, another reason is that reactive power and voltage difference in the long distance transmission line are of great importance. In essence, fault analysis is a very important topic in network technology in order to eliminate errors in a short time and restore the electrical network as quickly as possible with minimal interruptions. However, detecting errors that interrupt the transmission line is in itself a difficult task to look for errors and improve system reliability. The transmission line is vulnerable to all parameters that connect the entire electrical network. A review of the transmission and associated equipment was described in this study. And it explains the classification and fault detection scheme. This document provides an overview of transmission line failure detection

    Introduction to Blockchain

    Get PDF
The current monetary system has many issues associated with it like double spending, standard transaction fees, financial crisis, centralized power and private ledgers. Blockchain provides a remedy to all these ills by its basic structure, zero or minimal transaction fees and by providing a public ledger system which is visible to everyone who is the part of blockchain which makes it free from complications like double spending and financial cri-sis. Blockchain is basically a continuously growing list of records or public distributed ledger system called blocks linked and secured suing cryptography. Each block has multiple transaction details associated with it. It was introduced in the year 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, who is believed to be a Japanese man, born in 1974. Given the features and universal nature of the Blockchain, which include decentralized ledger system, proof of work and cryptography, one can appreciate that its implementation could result in far reaching changes in all domains

Experimental investigation of ethanol fueled partially premixed compression ignition (PPCI) diesel engine

    Get PDF
Control of emissions from IC engines applies a huge pressure to engine manufacturers. Low temperature combustion concepts such as HCCI, PPCI, and PCCI are promising solutions for reduction of both the NO and soot particulate from diesel engine. In the present investigation, five different flow rates 0.21, 0.37, 0.51, 0.59 and 0.80 kg/hr of ethanol is injected by port fuel injection. This study investigates the effect of ethanol premixed fraction on PPCI and direct injection combined combustion mode engine. The motivation of using ethanol fuel is that, it can be obtained from both natural and manufactured resources. The combustion, performance and emission parameter are evaluated for all loads with different premixed fractions and compared with diesel fuel operation. Based on the performance and emission parameters, it is understand that the injection of ethanol limits the stable operation range for different ethanol premixed fractions. In order to increase stable operation range, charge heating is used with different flow rates of ethanol. Results indicated that charge heating is beneficial solution for low load operation. For all stable operation range, the NOX emission is found to be extremely low than that of diesel, however, the HC and CO emissions are relatively high

Solution of Travelling Salesman Problem based on Metaheuristic Techniques

    Get PDF
The traveling salesman problem is a classic problem in combinatorial optimization. This problem is to find the shortest path that a salesman should take to traverse through a list of cities and return to the origin city. The list of cities and the distance between each pair are provided. It is an NP-complete problem i.e., class of computational problem for which no efficient solution algorithm has been found, presently there is no polynomial solution available. In this paper, we try to solve this very hard problem using various heuristics such as Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithm to find a near-optimal solu-tion as fast as possible. We try to escape the local optimum, using these advanced heu-ristic techniques

Nucleic acid drugs: a novel approach

    Get PDF
Nucleic acid base sequence of proteins plays a crucial role in the expression of gene. The gene is responsible for the synthesis of proteins and these proteins, which are synthesized, are responsible for the biological process and also for dreadful diseases as well. Once if the nucleic acid sequence is altered, we would be able to block or transfer the message for protein synthesis, there by preventing the particular protein, which is responsible for the disease. These nucleic acids act as drugs by different mechanisms, they may bind with the synthesized proteins, and they can hybridize to a messenger RNA leading to translation arrest or may induce degradation to target RNA. In this way the nucleic acids act as drug for inhibiting gene expression or protein synthesis. This article examines about the different types of nucleic acid drugs, their mechanisms, advantages, drawbacks and their future prospects. Key Words: Aptamers, ribozymes, antisense oligonucleotides. On designing light-weight object trackers through network pruning: Use CNNs or transformers?

Object trackers deployed on low-power devices need to be light-weight, however, most of the current state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods rely on using compute-heavy backbones built using CNNs or transformers. Large sizes of such models do not allow their deployment in low-power conditions and designing compressed variants of large tracking models is of great importance. This paper demonstrates how highly compressed light-weight object trackers can be designed using neural architectural pruning of large CNN and transformer based trackers. Further, a comparative study on architectural choices best suited to design light-weight trackers is provided. A comparison between SOTA trackers using CNNs, transformers as well as the combination of the two is presented to study their stability at various compression ratios. Finally results for extreme pruning scenarios going as low as 1% in some cases are shown to study the limits of network pruning in object tracking. This work provides deeper insights into designing highly efficient trackers from existing SOTA methods.Comment: Submitted at IEEE ICASSP 202

Acute hypoxemia due to lung collapse in COVID-19: the role of therapeutic bronchoscopy

    Get PDF
Bronchoscopy is an aerosol-generating procedure and involves a high risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 to health care workers. There are very few indications for performing bronchoscopy in a patient with confirmed COVID-19. These include atelectasis, foreign body aspiration, and suspected superinfection in immunocompromised patients. Proper use of standard personal protective equipment is mandatory to reduce the risk of transmission to health care workers. In this article, we describe a case of acute lung collapse in a 16-year-old boy with cerebral palsy who was infected with COVID-19. This patient responded to therapeutic bronchoscopy and had complete resolution of lung collapse within 24 hours of the procedure
