Medical rehabilitation services for patients with disabilities in Riga

Daces Tirzītes maģistra darbs „Medicīniskās rehabilitācijas pakalpojumu pieejamība pacientiem ar invaliditāti Rīgā” izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Medicīnas fakultātes Veselības zinātņu studiju programmā. Maģistra darba hipotēze – personīgo līdzekļu, informācijas trūkums un garās rindas (pie speciālista) ierobežo medicīniskās rehabilitācijas pakalpojumu pieejamību pacientiem ar invaliditāti. Maģistra darba mērķis – analizēt un novērtēt rehabilitācijas pakalpojumu pieejamību pacientiem ar invaliditāti. Mērķis tika sasniegts ar izvirzīto uzdevumu izpildi. Apkopojot pētījuma datus var apgalvot, ka pētījuma sākumā izvirzītā hipotēze ir apstiprinājusies daļēji. Maģistra darbs sastāv no ievada, trīs nodaļām, secinājumiem, izmantoto literatūras avotu saraksta un pielikumiem. Maģistra darbā analizēta V. Hendersones un F. G. Abdellahas māszinību teorija. Maģistra darbs sastāv no 69 lapām, 25 tabulām, 5 attēliem, 3 pielikumiem un 94 izmantotiem literatūras avotiem. Hypothesis of master work – lack of personal resources and information and long waiting lines (at specialist) limit the accessibility to medical rehabilitation services for patients with disabilities. The aim of the master work – to analyze and assess availability of rehabilitation services for patients with disabilities. This aim was achieved by meeting the proposed challenges. Summarizing the data of the study one can assert, that the hypothesis that was advanced at the beginning of the work has been confirmed partially. The master's thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusions, the bibliography and appendices. In master thesis the nursing theory of V. Henderson and F. G. Abdellah was analyzed. Pētījumā izklāstītas iespējas, ko šobrīd sniedz ar jūrniecību saistīti pētniecības un attīstības projekti Eiropā kopējā Eiropas jūrniecības vadlīniju kontekstā. Tāpat pētījumā aprakstītas atbalsta iespējas no ES Ietvara Programmām (IP), kā arī tādām pētniecības programmām, kā COST, EUREKA un INTERREG, kā arī šo programmu ietekme uz jūrniecības sektoru. Plašs pārskats par 6.IP jūrniecības projektiem un Latvijas partneru dalību tajā tiek apkopots, vienlaikus analizējot tematiskās prioritātes, kurās sekmīgi tiek finansēti jūrniecības pētījumu projekti. Evaluation of Antiradical Activity and Reducing Capacity of Synthesized Bispyridinium Dibromides Obtained by Quaternisation of 4-Pyridyl-1,4-dihydropyridines with Propargyl Bromide

New bispyridinium dibromides based on the 1,4-dhydropyridine (1,4-DHP) cycle were synthesized in the reaction between 4-pyridyl-1,4-DHP derivatives and propargylbromide. It has been shown that variation of the substituent position on the pyridine as well as changes in the electronic nature of the 1,4-DHP cycle as a result of the substituent nature at the 3 and 5 positions do not affect the course of the reaction and in all cases the corresponding bispyridinium dibromides were formed. The antiradical activity, using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazine as a free radical scavenger, and the reducing capacity using phosphomolybdenum complexes have been evaluated for the newly synthesized compound. It has been shown that all tested 1,4-DHP bispyridinium dibromides possess reducing capacity and antiradical properties

Synthesis of novel bispyridinium dibromides on the 1,4-DHP core performed in reaction of 4-pyridyl-1,4-dihydropyridines with propargyl bromide. The evaluation of the reducing capacity and the antiradical activity of the synthesised bispyridinium dibromides confirmed that all tested compounds possessed these activities

Studies of Substituent Influence on Physical-Chemical Properties and Biological Activity in a Series of Cationic 1,4-Dihydropyridines as Gene Delivery Agents

New group of 1,4-DHP amphiphiles as putative gene delivery agents with variations of the substituents at the molecule have been designed and synthesised. It can be concluded that structure of substituents of at positions 2 and 6 of 1,4-DHP molecule are important for radical scavening properties
