    Social skills are skills that need to be possessed by every student because these social skills are part of life skills. Social skills can also require students to achieve success in their social life at school and in society. Good student life and association can foster students' social skills. Through these social skills, students will be able to relate and respond to other people well. This research was conducted to examine the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers in improving the social skills of Santa Maria Kabanjahe Private High School students with 12 informants consisting of: Catholic Religious Education Teachers, Principals and students. This research uses qualitative research. Research data obtained by means of observation, interviews and documentation. This research took place from March to May 2021. The results showed that the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers had been carried out as well as possible in improving students' social skills, students at Santa Maria Kabanjahe Private High School had good social skills through the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers who include: the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers as role models, as learning managers, as motivators, and as curriculum implementer

    Acute postischemic renormalization of the apparent diffusion coefficient of water is not associated with reversal of astrocytic swelling and neuronal shrinkage in rats

    BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Initially decreased apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values are reversible if reperfusion is rapidly performed after focal brain ischemia. We sought to determine if reperfusion-induced renormalization of initially abnormal values indicates reversal of cellular, morphologic changes that occur during acute ischemia. METHODS: Eighteen rats underwent 30 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) without reperfusion (group A, n = 6), with 1.5 hours of reperfusion (group B, n = 6), or with 12 hours of reperfusion (group C, n = 6). Diffusion- and perfusion-weighted MR images were obtained at the end of MCAO and 1.5 and 12 hours after reperfusion. Immediately after the final MR study, the brains were fixed by cardiac perfusion with 4% paraformaldehyde. Neuronal injury was evaluated on hematoxylin-eosin-stained slices, and astrocytic size was determined by the area of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) plus S-100 expression. RESULTS: In group A in which ADC values decreased significantly, 47 +/-12% of the neurons were slightly shrunken; astrocytes were moderately swollen, and the area expressing GFAP plus S-100 was larger than that in the contralateral hemisphere (117 microm(2) +/- 6 vs 89 microm(2) +/- 2;

    Este estudo foi conduzido para avaliar o desempenho animal e a viabilidade econômica da utilização de diferentes níveis de concentrado na dieta no confinamento de tourinhos para abate entre 14-16 meses de idade. Foram utilizados 16 bovinos não-castrados alimentados com 22, 40, 59 ou 79% de concentrado na dieta, distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com quatro repetições por tratamento. A idade e o peso médio inicial dos animais foram de 9,32 meses e 192 kg, respectivamente. A idade de abate, o peso final, o consumo de fibra em detergente neutro, a conversão alimentar e a lucratividade mensal diminuíram com o aumento do nível de concentrado. O consumo de matéria seca em porcentagem do peso vivo e do tamanho metabólicoapresentaram comportamento quadrático, aumentando até os níveis de 67 e 75% de concentrado na dieta, respectivamente. O consumo de energia digestível e o ganho de peso vivo médio diário apresentaram aumentos lineares com a elevação do nível de concentrado. O aumento do nível de concentrado da dieta de 22 para 79% aumenta o desempenho animal, mas reduz a lucratividade da terminação de tourinhos dos 14 aos 16 meses de idade.<br>This study was conducted to evaluate the performance and economic viability of young bulls slaughtered at 14-16 months old, fed on different concentrate levels in the diet. Sixteen young bulls were randomly distributed and fed with 22, 40, 59 or 79% concentrate in the diet, resulting in four replications per treatment. The initial age and weight were 9.32 months and 192.44 kg, respectively. Final age, final weight, neutral fiber detergent intake, feed conversion and monthly profit decreased with increasing concentrate levels. The dry matter intake as percentage of live weight and metabolic size showed quadratic variation, increasing to 67 and 75% concentrate in the diet, respectively. The digestible energy intake and average daily weight gain increased with increases in concentrate levels. The increase in the level of dietary concentrate from 22 to 79% increased the animal performance, but decreased the profitability of young finished feedlot bulls at 14-16 months old
