    Instantons on General Noncommutative R^4

We study the U(1) and U(2) instanton solutions of gauge theory on general noncommutative R4\bf{R}^4. In all cases considered we obtain explicit results for the projection operators. In some cases we computed numerically the instanton charge and found that it is an integer, independent of the noncommutative parameters θ1,2\theta_{1,2}.Comment: 14 pages, LaTeX; deleted some confusing statements in the U(1) 1-instanton case, added ref

Jointly Modeling Topics and Intents with Global Order Structure

Modeling document structure is of great importance for discourse analysis and related applications. The goal of this research is to capture the document intent structure by modeling documents as a mixture of topic words and rhetorical words. While the topics are relatively unchanged through one document, the rhetorical functions of sentences usually change following certain orders in discourse. We propose GMM-LDA, a topic modeling based Bayesian unsupervised model, to analyze the document intent structure cooperated with order information. Our model is flexible that has the ability to combine the annotations and do supervised learning. Additionally, entropic regularization can be introduced to model the significant divergence between topics and intents. We perform experiments in both unsupervised and supervised settings, results show the superiority of our model over several state-of-the-art baselines.Comment: Accepted by AAAI 201

Bargaining, Revenue Sharing and Control Rights Allocation

In a two-period, double moral hazard model with incomplete contracting, this paper explores the relationship between revenue sharing and control rights. Specifically, we endogenize the allocation of both the income rights and the control rights and show why the two are often bundled together in the context of a two-party joint venture. Moreover, we study how the use of different bargaining solutions for the ex post contract renegotiation game may affect the optimal allocation of income and control rights. Our results can be used to explain the commonly observed ownership structures of equity joint ventures.

Persuading Chinese female migrant workers to adopt safe sex practices: Results of a formative evaluation strategy

China has been witnessing the migration of workers from rural areas in search of job opportunities in the big cities. Of these young workers, females are especially at risk of having unwanted pregnancy, contracting sexually transmitted diseases and reproductive infections. This study examines this group\u27s knowledge, attitudes and behavior toward safe sex practices, identifies the most efficient information channels to reach them, and offers recommendations for the design and implementation of health communication campaigns. Through in-depth interviews, the views and opinions of this highly marginalized group were solicited. The findings show that interpersonal communication with friends, an instant chatting app (QQ), and hospital pamphlets were important sources of information about safe sex practices. Boyfriends were the most influential opinion leaders and actual decision makers in contraception choice. The disparity in gender power in decision-making was the most significant barrier to the adoption of contraceptive methods. The results suggest that future efforts should enhance the quality of information delivered through printed products and chat services. Future programs also should target young migrant male workers. Those directed toward women should move beyond family planning toward more consciousness-raising efforts that enable women to exercise more power over decisions that affect other important aspects of their lives
