    Urban Panorama Tourism Planning A View From River Tour Course In Post-Three Gorges Era

    The upstream cities of Yangtze River have been witnessing significant transforming since the beginning of the construction of the Three Gorges hydroelectric dam project. Chongqing Port Authority had its opportunity to alternate the river tourism strategy from being the upstream terminal of the golden route into creating a particular cruise course towards perceiving the panorama of continuous elevation of mountainous city, at the same time, promoting the renovation of the urban design so as to revival the typical mountain-river vista. This paper bases on the panoramic research of Chongqing peninsula; discusses the characteristic aspects of the three-dimension sightseeing of the mountainous city on the cruise route, which widely exists in the Three Gorges region as well. And this method is different from the two dimensional approach of skyline analysis which is more suitable for the topographic area. The achieved work can offer the tourism-related sectors a sustainable assistance to deal with “tourbanism” topics in the urban regeneration process in the Three Gorges regions.Las ciudades situadas a lo largo del río Yangtze han sido testigo de cambios significativos desde los inicios de la construcción de la Presa hidroeléctrica de las Tres Gargantas. La autoridad portuaria de Chongqing tuvo la oportunidad de alternar la estrategia turística del río, pasando de ser una parada de la ruta dorada en lo alto del río a crear una ruta navegable particular de cara a la visualización del panorama de la ciudad montañosa, promoviendo, a su vez, la renovación del diseño urbanístico para revivir la vista típica del paisaje de río y montaña. Este artículo se basa en la investigación panorámica de la península de Chongqing; trata los aspectos característicos de las tres dimensiones del turismo de la ciudad montañosa en la ruta navegable, que existe también en la región de las Tres gargantas. Este método es diferente del acercamiento bidimensional de análisis del skyline, más propicio para el área topográfica. El trabajo conseguido puede ofrecer a los sectores relacionados con el turismo asistencia sostenible para lidiar con los temas de “tourbanism” en el proceso de regeneración urbana las regiones de las Tres Gargantas

    Learning Local Feature Descriptor with Motion Attribute for Vision-based Localization

    In recent years, camera-based localization has been widely used for robotic applications, and most proposed algorithms rely on local features extracted from recorded images. For better performance, the features used for open-loop localization are required to be short-term globally static, and the ones used for re-localization or loop closure detection need to be long-term static. Therefore, the motion attribute of a local feature point could be exploited to improve localization performance, e.g., the feature points extracted from moving persons or vehicles can be excluded from these systems due to their unsteadiness. In this paper, we design a fully convolutional network (FCN), named MD-Net, to perform motion attribute estimation and feature description simultaneously. MD-Net has a shared backbone network to extract features from the input image and two network branches to complete each sub-task. With MD-Net, we can obtain the motion attribute while avoiding increasing much more computation. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can learn distinct local feature descriptor along with motion attribute only using an FCN, by outperforming competing methods by a wide margin. We also show that the proposed algorithm can be integrated into a vision-based localization algorithm to improve estimation accuracy significantly.Comment: This paper will be presented on IROS1

    Ultrafast Video Attention Prediction with Coupled Knowledge Distillation

    Large convolutional neural network models have recently demonstrated impressive performance on video attention prediction. Conventionally, these models are with intensive computation and large memory. To address these issues, we design an extremely light-weight network with ultrafast speed, named UVA-Net. The network is constructed based on depth-wise convolutions and takes low-resolution images as input. However, this straight-forward acceleration method will decrease performance dramatically. To this end, we propose a coupled knowledge distillation strategy to augment and train the network effectively. With this strategy, the model can further automatically discover and emphasize implicit useful cues contained in the data. Both spatial and temporal knowledge learned by the high-resolution complex teacher networks also can be distilled and transferred into the proposed low-resolution light-weight spatiotemporal network. Experimental results show that the performance of our model is comparable to ten state-of-the-art models in video attention prediction, while it costs only 0.68 MB memory footprint, runs about 10,106 FPS on GPU and 404 FPS on CPU, which is 206 times faster than previous models

    ViT-Calibrator: Decision Stream Calibration for Vision Transformer

    A surge of interest has emerged in utilizing Transformers in diverse vision tasks owing to its formidable performance. However, existing approaches primarily focus on optimizing internal model architecture designs that often entail significant trial and error with high burdens. In this work, we propose a new paradigm dubbed Decision Stream Calibration that boosts the performance of general Vision Transformers. To achieve this, we shed light on the information propagation mechanism in the learning procedure by exploring the correlation between different tokens and the relevance coefficient of multiple dimensions. Upon further analysis, it was discovered that 1) the final decision is associated with tokens of foreground targets, while token features of foreground target will be transmitted into the next layer as much as possible, and the useless token features of background area will be eliminated gradually in the forward propagation. 2) Each category is solely associated with specific sparse dimensions in the tokens. Based on the discoveries mentioned above, we designed a two-stage calibration scheme, namely ViT-Calibrator, including token propagation calibration stage and dimension propagation calibration stage. Extensive experiments on commonly used datasets show that the proposed approach can achieve promising results. The source codes are given in the supplements.Comment: 14pages, 12 figure

    Effects of job crafting and leisure crafting on nurses' burnout : a machine learning-based prediction analysis

    Aim. To explore the status of job crafting, leisure crafting, and burnout among nurses and to examine the impact of job crafting and leisure crafting variations on burnout using machine learning-based models. Background. The prevalence of burnout among nurses poses a severe risk to their job performance, quality of healthcare, and the cohesiveness of nurse teams. Numerous studies have explored factors influencing nurse burnout; however, few involved job crafting and leisure crafting synchronously and elucidated the effect differences of the two crafting behaviors on nurse burnout. Methods. Multicentre cross-sectional survey study. Nurses (n = 1235) from four Chinese tertiary hospitals were included. The Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, the Job Crafting Scale, and the Leisure Crafting Scale were employed for data collection. Four machine learning algorithms (logistic regression model, support vector machine, random forest, and gradient boosting tree) were used to analyze the data. Results. Nurses experienced mild to moderate levels of burnout and moderate to high levels of job crafting and leisure crafting. The AUC (in full) for the four models was from 0.809 to 0.821, among which the gradient boosting tree performed best, with 0.821 AUC, 0.739 accuracy, 0.470 sensitivity, 0.919 specificity, and 0.161 Brier. All models showed that job crafting was the most important predictor for burnout, while leisure crafting was identified as the second important predictor for burnout in the random forest model and gradient boosting tree model. Conclusion. Even if nurses experienced mild to moderate burnout, nurse managers should develop efficient interventions to reduce nurse burnout. Job crafting and leisure crafting may be beneficial preventative strategies against burnout among nurses at present. Implications for Nursing Management. Job and leisure crafting were identified as effective methods to reduce nurse burnout. Nurse managers should provide more opportunities for nurses' job crafting and encourage nurses crafting at their leisure time. © 2024 Yu-Fang Guo et al

    Simvastatin reduces atherogenesis and promotes the expression of hepatic genes associated with reverse cholesterol transport in apoE-knockout mice fed high-fat diet

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Statins are first-line pharmacotherapeutic agents for hypercholesterolemia treatment in humans. However the effects of statins on atherosclerosis in mouse models are very paradoxical. In this work, we wanted to evaluate the effects of simvastatin on serum cholesterol, atherogenesis, and the expression of several factors playing important roles in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) in apoE-/- mice fed a high-fat diet.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>The atherosclerotic lesion formation displayed by oil red O staining positive area was reduced significantly by 35% or 47% in either aortic root section or aortic arch en face in simvastatin administrated apoE-/- mice compared to the control. Plasma analysis by enzymatic method or ELISA showed that high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) and apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) contents were remarkably increased by treatment with simvastatin. And plasma lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) activity was markedly increased by simvastatin treatment. Real-time PCR detection disclosed that the expression of several transporters involved in reverse cholesterol transport, including macrophage scavenger receptor class B type I, hepatic ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters ABCG5, and ABCB4 were induced by simvastatin treatment, the expression of hepatic ABCA1 and apoA-I, which play roles in the maturation of HDL-C, were also elevated in simvastatin treated groups.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>We demonstrated the anti-atherogenesis effects of simvastatin in apoE-/- mice fed a high-fat diet. We confirmed here for the first time simvastatin increased the expression of hepatic ABCB4 and ABCG5, which involved in secretion of cholesterol and bile acids into the bile, besides upregulated ABCA1 and apoA-I. The elevated HDL-C level, increased LCAT activity and the stimulation of several transporters involved in RCT may all contribute to the anti-atherosclerotic effect of simvastatin.</p

    A plan quality classifier derived with overlap-wall-histogram of hollow organs for automatic IMRT plan quality control of prostate cancer cases

    Purpose: We developed a plan quality classification model to assess IMRT plan quality of prostate cancer patients for automatic plan quality control. Methods: For hollow organs such as rectum and bladder, dose-wall-histogram (DWH) was used to evaluate OAR dose sparing in our institution. Correspondingly, we proposed a new descriptor called overlap-wall-histogram (OWH) to describe the complex spatial relationship between PTV and a hollow organ. Two metrics calculated from the OWH and DWH are introduced to quantitatively evaluate the difficulty of patient geometry for planning and plan quality in terms of OAR sparing, respectively. A linear correlation between these two metrics was observed after plotting plan quality metric as a function of geometry difficulty metric studied from a database of prostate cases treated in our institution with acceptable plan quality. Thus, a fitting line was built acting as the boundary of high quality and poor quality plans. A query plan falling above the boundary is assessed as high quality, vice versa poor quality. Results: 15 prostate IMRT plans were used to test our model. One was identified as poor quality and the others were common-level. After re-planning all plans, the dose constraints for bladder wall W75 (percentage of wall receiving more than 75Gy), W70, W65 and W60 can be reduced by 3.34%, 3%, 6.99%, 6.54% for that poor quality plan and 1.11%, 0.95%, 1.45% and 1.81% averagely for the common-level quality group, without sacrificing PTV coverage and rectum dose sparing. Conclusion: An effective model was built to provide automatic IMRT plan quality control by evaluating hollow OAR dose sparing for prostate cancer patients. Furthermore, for the query plan with poor quality, potential improvement of plan quality can be estimated and a good reference plan with similar or harder geometry can be automatically chosen from our database to help guide the re-planning if necessary.---------------------------Cite this article as: Song T, Tian Z, Jia X, Zhou L, Jiang SB, Gu X.
