Business Diversification and Financial Supply Chain Efficiency of Companies Listed on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange
Abstract— This research evaluate the impact of business diversification of companies listed on HoSe from 2013 to 2017, the research has used balance panel data form of 145 listed enterprises. Business diversification is measured according to the Entropy index, measured by turnover in the Grade 2 subdivision and Level 4 subdivision according to Vietnam's industry standard. The results of the study showed that diversification would generally help improve financial efficiency, however, for those enterprises focusing on diversification outside the industry will reduce financial efficiency. In addition, the results of the study also showed that businesses increasing financial leverage for the purpose of expanding the left-sector business will be unstable, those businesses scaling up to strengthen the true diversification of businesses with experience will help increase their financial efficiency

Assessing changes in the agricultural systems of selected sites in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam: A Participatory GIS approach
Background: The Mekong River delta is a region undergoing rapid socio-economic and environmental changes. As part of the BMZ funded project, ‘Hands and Minds connected to boost Eco-efficiency in Smallholder Systems’ we have conducted an assessment to identify the changes in cropping systems occurring in specific project sites in Vietnam (Central Highlands), Cambodia (Ratanakiri Province) and Laos (Xiangkhouang Province). We have implemented a participatory GIS methodology to compile spatially referenced information on the changes occurring at the plot level for the period 2007-2017 and recorded information on the climatic and biophysical stresses present. We have also collected information on the household characteristics in order to better understand the context in which the cropping system changes are occurring.
Objective: i. To identify and describe the changes in the cropping systems from 2007 to 2017 occurring in the project sites ii. To collect descriptive data at the household and village level which can be used to better understand why the specific changes in cropping system are occurring and how these changes manifest themselves across the sites and surveyed farmers
Method: We implemented the survey on the commcare application using hand held tablets and used GPS to map the field plots of the households (between 78-94 Households for each country).
We used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to store, analyse and present the data.
Conclusions
Overall we can see that the agricultural system in the Central Highlands, Vietnam, is largely orientated towards the market, with cash crops being produced since and notably before 2007. The changes in crop patterns is complex, but we can see an increase in the production of pepper and a reduction in coffee. Cambodia has seen a reduction in the forest and fallow plots with increases in the production of cash crops such as cassava. However, this is not uniform across all the villages, with Padal undergoing the most substantial increase in agricultural production, with forest and trees being replaced by cassava and cashew.
In Laos we can see an increase in the production of maize, particularly in Pa Khom village. We also see an expansion in the area of the tea in Or Anh village, a cash crop largely grown for export
Effect of chromium substituted on structural and magnetic characterization lithium ferrite nanoparticles
In this work, we present a structural, morphology and magnetic study of the Li0.5Fe2.5-xCrxO4 spinel nanoparticles (x = 0, 0.5, 0.75, 1, and 1.25) with mean particle size of 20-30 nm prepared by sol-gel method. The lattice constants and the size of particle decrease with increasing Cr concentration. In these samples, the preference of Cr3+ and Li+ ions in the octahedral sites and a small degree of site-interchange between Li+ in the octahedral sites and Fe3+ in the tetrahedral sites were found which increases with increasing the Cr content. A decrease of magnetization due to the spin disorder in the surface layer of the particles was observed. The spontaneous magnetization at 5K suggests the Néel type of magnetic ordering in these samples. The magnetic coercivity is discussed in terms of particle size, morphology and chromium substitution. Keywords. Chromium substitution, sol-gel method, nanoparticles, lithium ferrite
Encouraging the Startup Spirit of Students: Implications and Solutions
Starting a business by the establishment of a new business or a new business project plays an important role in the economic development of each country. Promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of students at universities is the basis for contributing to the success of start-up countries. This study provides empirical evidence of factors affecting student entrepreneurship based on survey data of a sample of 321 students. The study results clarify the factors affecting the initial entrepreneurial intention of students, and are an important foundation for starting-up in the future. Since then, the findings from regression analysis are the basis to imply some solutions from the school and the Government to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of young people. Dry Eyes Status on Des Scale and Related Factors in Outpatients at Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology
BACKGROUND: Dry eye (DE) can effect on quality of life by pain, inability to perform certain activities that require prolonged attention (driving, reading,…) and productivity at work and finally effect to Q0L associated with DE. OSDI is scale questionnaire is created team to measure the quality of life related to ocular surface disease.
AIM: To describe the dry eye disease according to OSDI scale and related factors of this disease.
METHODS: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on outpatients (≥ 16-year-old) who were examined and diagnosed with dry eyes at Vietnam National Institute Of Ophthalmology from April to July 2018. Data was collected using the OSDI questionnaire.
RESULTS: The average age of participants was 44.6 years; 80.9% of patients were female; 39.9% were identified having mild dry eye. The related factors have been identified that associated with severe dry eye, including age OR = 1.03 (95%CI: 1.01-1.05, p = 0.005), binocular good vision OR = 0.11 (95%CI: 0.05-0.23; p < 0.0001), medical history OR = 17.09 (95%CI: 2.24-130.25; p < 0.0001), chronic conjunctivitis OR = 0.36 (95%CI: 0.14-0.91; p = 0.027), refractive errors OR = 0.14 (95%CI: 0.04-0.48; p < 0.0001), Sjogren's syndrome OR = 31.13 (95%CI: 7.08-136.76; p < 0.0001).
CONCLUSION: Several related factors have been identified associated with severe dry eye, including: age, binocular good vision, medical history, chronic conjunctivitis, refractive errors, Sjogren's syndrome
Enhancing the organizational citizenship behavior for the environment: the roles of green training and organizational culture
The environmental concern has become an emerging topic in organization's human resource management strategy, especially in improving employee's environmental behavior at work Thus, the organizational citizenship behavior toward the environment (OCBE) has been currently attracting scholars in management. However, published studies contain research gaps in investigation of the relationships between both green training and organizational culture and OCBE, especially in the hotel industry. Following the social exchange and Ability-Motivation Opportunity theories, this study aims to examine the effects of two green practices on OCBE and the moderating role of green organizational culture to the effect of green training on OCBE. A quantitative approach with survey strategy is employed and conducted in 4-5 star hotels to test these relationships. The PLS-SEM and K-means Cluster Analysis techniques are applied to analyze data. The findings reveal that green training and organizational culture positively influence OCBE. Also, the effect of green training on OCBE is moderated by green organizational culture. Finally, our study provides limitations of research and further studies, and the implications for management practices concerned with improving employee's voluntary eco-behavior in the hotel industry.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU [IGA/FaME/2018/009
Survey on Vietnamese teachers’ perspectives and perceived support during COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented damage to the educational system worldwide. Besides the measurable economic impacts in the short-term and long-term, there is intangible destruction within educational institutions. In particular, teachers – the most critical intellectual resources of any schools – have to face various types of financial, physical, and mental struggles due to COVID-19. To capture the current context of more than one million Vietnamese teachers during COVID-19, we distributed an e- survey to more than 2,500 randomly selected teachers from two major teacher communities on Facebook from 6th to 11th April 2020. From over 373 responses, we excluded the observations which violated our cross-check questions and retained 294 observations for further analysis. This dataset includes: (i) Demographics of participants; (ii) Teachers' perspectives regarding the operation of teaching activities during the pandemic; (iii) Teachers' received support from their schools, government bodies, other stakeholders such as teacher unions, and parents' associations; and (iv) teachers' evaluation of school readiness toward digital transformation. Further, the dataset was supplemented with an additional question on the teachers' primary source of professional development activities during the pandemic
Evaluation of Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery Outcomes After Penetrating Keratoplasty
BACKGROUND: Cataract is one of the reasons which causes impaired visual acuity (VA) of the eyes after penetrating keratoplasy (PK), which can be treated by cataract surgery after PK or triple procedure. Cataract surgery after PK has advantages that parameters of the eyes such as axial length, anterior chamber depth (ACD) as well as corneal curvature are stabilized after removing all sutures postoperatively, and intraocular lens (IOL) power can be calculated correctly. Therefore, postoperative VA will be improved significantly. In Vietnam, there have not been any study about cataract surgery after PK, therefore we conduct this research.
AIM: To evaluate the outcomes of phacoemulsification cataract surgery following primary PK.
METHODS: Non-randomized controlled intervention study. Ninteen eyes (19 patients) that underwent phacoemulsification plus IOL insertion after initial PK in Cornea department, Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology, from December 2013 to September 2014.
RESULTS: All patients presented with reduced VA, including 17 eyes (89.9%) with VA ≤ 20/200, mean astigmatism was 7.9 ± 1.0 D. Clear corneal grafts in 16 eyes while corneal opacity was seen in 3 eyes. All eyes with cataract were diagnosed from grade 2. After cataract surgery, improved VA > 20/200 was achieved in 72.22% of cases. There was a markable reduce of postoperative astigmatism with 1,8 ± 0.8 D (p < 0.05). However, the immunologic graft reaction was presented in one eye, and two edematous corneas also reported after cataract surgery. After treatment, there was one cornea achieved its clarity.
CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification cataract surgery following initial PK showed good outcomes with improved postoperative VA, reduced astigmatism, and the ultimate graft survival rate was high
