    Frequency and Complexity of Relative Clauses in Vietnamese Learners’ Essays

    Relative clauses are considered as complex structures and employed in academic writing to a high extent. The frequency and complexity of these structures is expected to make non-native learners’ writing more academic. Therefore, the paper aims to investigate how Vietnamese learners of English use relative clauses in their essays. Particularly, 100 argumentative essays written by intermediate students are examined to explore the frequency and complexity of these structures. The findings show that the presence of relative clauses is found in nearly all essays. However, the investigated students tend to use many more restrictive relative clauses than non- restrictive ones. Regarding syntactic complexity, they have a preference order of SU>DO>OBL>GEN>IO=OCOMP. It is suggested that non-native learners should acquire the use of all types of relative clauses for them to be appropriately employed in their academic writing.     The Impact of Viral Marketing on Emotion and Impulse Buying Behavior: A Case Study of Online Fashion

    Impulsive online shopping is becoming a habit for many young consumers, especially for fashion products. This study aims to analyze the influence of viral marketing on emotions and impulsive online shopping behavior of young people for fashion products in Vietnam. The results showed that viral marketing with characteristics such as entertainment, source credibility, visual appeal, informativeness, and irritation all had a significant impact on emotions and impulsive online shopping behavior. Therefore,some suggestions are proposed for applying viral marketing to promote impulsive online shopping behavior for fashion products.     Design a low-cost delta robot arm for pick and place applications based on computer vision

    In this paper, we develop a low-cost delta robot arm for grasping objects of unspecified size thanks to a vision system. Stepper motors are used instead of ac servo motors to build a low-cost delta robot arm. Furthermore, we use available materials and machining methods such as laser cutting and 3d printing instead of CNC milling and turning to reduce fabrication costs. The controller is based on a low-cost embedded controller - Arduino Uno for controlling the robot's motion. The vision system is constructed to determine the 3D coordinate of objects in the workspace as well as the sizes of objects. The gripper is opened with a distance of two fingers equal to the size of the objects, and the robot is controlled to the objects' coordinates to grasp them. An application to pick up objects on a conveyor belt is developed to validate the design. The experimental results show that the robot system works correctly, the robot arm moves smoothly, and the information determined by the vision system has a small error, ensuring that the robot can accurately pick up products

    A survey report of the Vietnam Urban Environment and Industrial Zone Association reveals that every day in 2009, about 1,000 tons of construction waste were generated in Hanoi and 2,000 tons Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. It is forecasted that the coming years would see a vigorously growing amount of construction waste as a result of the plan to dismantle and renovate old apartment buildings in major cities. So, in this research we developed a supply chain management strategy for the waste controlling in the construction industry. While the bulky volume of construction wastes poses a great environmental threat to urban areas, response to it remains meager.     Preparation and characterization of magnesium hydroxyapatite coatings on 316L stainless steel

    Magnesium hydroxyapatite coatings (MgHAp) were deposited on the surface of 316L stainless steel (316L SS) substrates by electrodeposition technique. DiïŹ€erent concentrations of Mg2+ ion were incorporated into the apatite structure by adding Mg(NO3)2 into electrolyte solution containing 3×10-2 M Ca(NO3)2, 1.8×10-2 M NH4H2PO4 and   6×10-2 M NaNO3. With Mg2+ concentration 1×10-3 M, the obtained coatings have 0.2 wt% Mg2+. The influences of scanning potential ranges, scanning times to deposit MgHAp coatings were researched. The analytical results FTIR, SEM, X-ray, EDX, thickness and adhension strength showed that MgHAp coatings were single phase of HAp, fibrous shapes, thickness 8.1 ”m and adhesion strength 7.20 MPa at the scanning potential ranges of 0Ă·-1.7 V/SCE and scanning times of 5 scans.     Effects of combined rice flour and molasses use on the growth performance of Pacific white shrimp (<em>Litopenaeus vannamei</em> Boone, 1931) applied biofloc technology

    A 63-day completely random experiment with three replications was carried out to compare the effects of five different combination ratios of rice flour (R) and molasses (M) on the growth and survival rates of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei Boone, 1931) postlarvae applied biofloc technology. Five biofloc (BF) treatments, including R90-M10, R70-M30, R50-M50, R30-M70, and R10-M90, formed with the addition of different combination ratios of rice flour and molasses, i.e., 90% R+10% M, 70% R+30% M, 50% R+50% M, 30% R+70% M, and 10% R+90% M, respectively, with C/N ratios of 15:1, and a control (neither rice flour nor molasses applied) was randomly arranged into the 18 plastic tanks of 1.0 m3 volume (with 0.5 m3 of water) each tank and salinity of 15‰. The postlarvae (0.095 g) were stocked into the tanks at a 150 ind. m−3 density and fed pelleted feed (40% protein). There was an improvement in growth (FMW, WG, DWG, and SGR) for all treatments. Besides, treatments with more than or equal to 30% molasses have improved SR, FCR, and FB. Especially the highest SR (94.2%) was obtained at the R70-M30, which perhaps created the highest FB (1.435 kg m−3) in this treatment. The lowest FCR (1.28) was also observed in the R70-M30 and significantly differed from the control and other treatments. Besides, water quality parameters were within the ranges recommended for Pacific white shrimp health during the experimental period. Our findings indicated the benefits of shrimp culture using the BF system when different combined ratios of rice flour and molasses were applied, of which a ratio of 70% rice flour and 30% molasses was considered as the best

    ELECTRODEPOSITION OF CO-DOPED HYDROXYAPATITE COATING ON 316L STAINLESS STEEL

    Hydroxyapatite (HAp) co-doped by magnesium (Mg), strontium (Sr), sodium (Na) and fluorine (F) were deposited on the 316L stainless steel (316L SS) substrate by electrodeposition method. The influences of scanning potential ranges, scanning times, scanning rates to form MgSrFNaHAp coating were investigated. The analytical results FTIR, SEM, Xray, EDX, thickness and adhension of the obtained coating at scanning potential ranges of 0 ÷ -1.7 V/SCE; scaning times of 5, scanning rate of 5 mV/s showed that MgSrFNaHAp coatings were single phase crystals of HAp, rod shape with the thickness 8.9 ”m and the adhesion strength reached 8.38 MPa
