    Get PDF
Objectives: The transformational leadership style is accepted as suitable for leading administrative agencies to achieve outstanding results and help organizations cope with challenges. Besides, leadership thinking is also considered to have a very important role in leadership performance in administrative agencies. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to explore the relationship between transformational leadership style and leader thinking to organization's performance. Methods: The article focuses on explaining the views on transformational leadership style, healthy thinking, and the relationship between transformational leadership style and leadership thinking, and at the same time points out the current status of transformational leadership style, transformational leadership, leadership thinking as well as this relationship in practice among the leaders of provincial agencies in Vietnam. Descriptive, inductive, deductive, synthetic, and quantitative statistical methods were applied to interpret the results. Findings: Research results show that transformational leadership style, leadership thinking in the team of leaders of provincial agencies is quite average, there is a strong positive correlation between transformational leadership style. In contrast to leadership thinking, a more transformative leadership style means that it requires an innovative leadership thinking. Novelty:The results achieved when applying a transformational leadership style are quite closely related to the application of leadership thinking to solve leadership challenges. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01307 Full Text: PD

The commitment of employees to the organization receives special attention from managers. This is because when employees are closely attached to the organization, the efficiency of work is improved, enhancing the organization’s innovation and creativity, and aiming for sustainable development. This study was conducted to demonstrate the factors influencing the commitment to the organization of tour guides. Research data was collected from a survey of 305 tour guides working in travel companies in Vietnam. Using quantitative research methods, the study has shown that the organizational commitment of tour guides is influenced by 8 factors, including job nature, work environment, training and promotion, income and benefits, leadership style, relationships with colleagues, rewards and recognition, and empowerment. Among them, empowerment is identified as the most significant factor, with the strongest influence on the organizational commitment of tour guides. Finally, the study has proposed some managerial implications to enhance the commitment to the organization of tour guides

Factors Affecting Successful Quality Assurance Implementation in Vietnamese Higher Education: A Qualitative Study

    Get PDF
Quality assurance and accreditation was officially introduced into the higher education system in Vietnam over ten years ago. It is evident that quality assurance has resulted in positive impacts on university management, teaching, learning and research activities. This paper aims to explore factors that aid the successful implementation of higher education quality assurance and accreditation in Vietnam. Through semi-structured interviews with 32 participants, this study identified a number of factors that contributed to quality assurance processes, including awareness of the importance of quality assurance, better institutional manager leadership, support of university lecturers, staff, and students, and the vital responsibility of internal quality assurance staff. These confirm that internal stakeholders play an important role in undertaking quality assurance programmes and activities

    Green Organic Synthesis of N-Methylpyrrolidine

    Get PDF
N-methylpyrrolidine was successfully synthesized in an aqueous medium by using methylamine and 1,4-dibromobutane in the presence of catalyst K2CO3 at a moderated temperature. Here, N-methylpyrrolidine was firstly synthesized via the green chemistry process, in which both the water solvent and potassium carbonate catalyst were inexpensive and environmentally friendly. Also, the reaction temperature was quite moderated at 900C. As a result, the current synthesis process was highly potential to implement in practice. Since the product yield directly depended on the operating conditions, the catalysts, temperature, ratio of reactants and solvent would be critical factors. In the present study, the structure of N-methylpyrrolidine product was confirmed by using the IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Gas Chromatography-Mass spectroscopy (GC-MS)

Phase Shift Design for RIS-Aided Cell-Free Massive MIMO with Improved Differential Evolution

This paper proposes a novel phase shift design for cell-free massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems assisted by reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), which only utilizes channel statistics to achieve the uplink sum ergodic throughput maximization under spatial channel correlations. Due to the non-convexity and the scale of the derived optimization problem, we develop an improved version of the differential evolution (DE) algorithm. The proposed scheme is capable of providing high-quality solutions within reasonable computing time. Numerical results demonstrate superior improvements of the proposed phase shift designs over the other benchmarks, particularly in scenarios where direct links are highly probable.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures. ABSTRACTFrom leaves of Amesiodendron chinense (Mer.) Hu four lignans (+)-aptosimon (1), (+)-isolariciresinol (2), (-)-cleomiscosin A (3), and (-)-cleomiscosin C (3) were isolated. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis including MS, 1D and 2D NMR as well as by comparison with reported data in literature. All compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic activities against five human cancer cell lines, KB, SK-LU-1, MCF-7, HepG-2, and SW-480. They showed weak cytotoxic activity on five tested human cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 32.61 to 95.18 µg/ml

Giant compound odontoma of the mandible in an adolescent

Abstract Odontomas are one type of benign odontogenic hamartoma that includes the compound and complex odontoma. They are generally reported not to exceed 3 cm in diameter. Odontomas with a diameter exceeding 3 cm are considered giant odontomas. An accurate diagnosis of odontomas cannot be made during the clinical examination. The majority of compound odontoma is diagnosed most commonly during radiographic screening. It should be done in coordination with a histological examination after surgical treatment. We report a case of giant compound odontoma of the mandible in a young boy. The tumor is treated by surgical excision under general anesthesia

Effects of different plant growth regulators as the foliar application on growth and flower quality of potted rose (Rosa chinensis Jacq. cv. Nhung)

This study was conducted to evaluate the different concentrations of Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), Benzyladenine (BA) and Gibberellic acid (GA3) as foliar applications on growth and flower quality of potted rose Nhung (Rosa chinensis Jacq. cv. Nhung). The experiment was constructed in a completely randomized design, that included seven treatments, such as control (sprayed water), NAA, BA and GA3 at two different concentrations of 25 and 50 ppm, in six replications, with one plant/pot for each replication. The chemical solutions were applied three times at an interval of fifteen days. The results revealed that some plant growth regulators increased the growth and flowering time of rose cv. Nhung. Using pre-harvest foliar sprays of NAA and BA at 25 and 50 ppm concentrations showed maximum bud diameter, flower diameter and flowering duration as compared with the control treatment. The concentration of  GA3 foliar application at 25 ppm increased plant growth (the height of flowering branches and Spad values) without affecting flower quality values and the flowering duration in comparison with the control treatment
