    The Relationship Between the Human Capital and Economic Growth: A Case of Vietnam

    Human capital are not only the engine of economic growth but also increase the global competitiveness for countries. Improving labor quality helps countries improve long-term economic efficiency. This article uses annual data in the period 1990 - 2017 in Vietnam, which attempts to explore the relationship between total capital formation, the labor quantity, education levels and life expectancy with economic growth. By using OLS regression, the analysis results shown that the gross capital formation, the labor quantity, education levels and life expectancy are positive and have a significant impact on GDP in Vietnam. Furthermore, the Granger causality test indicates that there is a two-way causal relationship between labor and economic growth (GDP) in Vietnam.     The Impact of International Trade on Economic Growth in Vietnam 1990 - 2015

    The study examines the impact of exports, imports, gross capital formation, and exchange rate on the economic growth of Vietnam. The empirical analysis is conducted by using time series data from 1990-2015. The study employed regression analysis as the method of analysis using cointegration and vector error correction techniques (VECM) to find the long-run relationship between growth rate of the gross domestic product, exports, imports, gross capital formation, and exchange rate. The estimated results show that there is a long-run equilibrium relationship among dependent variables and independent variables. The results also indicate that the import and gross capital formation has a positive and significant influence on the economy of Vietnam, the exchange rate has positive and insignificant on economic growth. Meanwhile, import has a negative impact on economic growth. It concludes that international trade can play a major role in boosting Vietnam's economic growth.     Over the past 20 years, the role of FDI in the Vietnamese economy has been important. FDI is one of the essential factors for the domestic economic growth. FDI not only increases the supply of investment capital but also promotes technology transfer, human capital accumulation, which promotes long-term economic growth. This paper employs time series techniques to analyses the effect of the foreign direct investment on economic growth in Viet Nam. The study uses annual data over the period 1990 - 2015. The gross domestic product (GDP) is the dependent variable, and foreign direct investment (FDI), gross fixed capital formation, real exchange rate, real interest rate, and inflation rate are the explanatory variables.     Secrecy outage probability of a NOMA scheme and impact imperfect channel state information in underlay cooperative cognitive networks

    Security performance and the impact of imperfect channel state information (CSI) in underlay cooperative cognitive networks (UCCN) is investigated in this paper. In the proposed scheme, relay R uses non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology to transfer messages e1, e2 from the source node S to User 1 (U-1) and User 2 (U-2), respectively. An eavesdropper (E) is also proposed to wiretap the messages of U-1 and U-2. The transmission's security performance in the proposed system was analyzed and performed over Rayleigh fading channels. Through numerical analysis, the results showed that the proposed system's secrecy performance became more efficient when the eavesdropper node E was farther away from the source node S and the intermediate cooperative relay R. The secrecy performance of U-1 was also compared to the secrecy performance of U-2. Finally, the simulation results matched the Monte Carlo simulations well.Web of Science203art. no. 89

    A Study on a Model of Anchovy Solar

    In central and southern coastal areas of Vietnam, annual yield of anchovy is enormous that leads the high demand for anchovy drying. Moreover, seafood in generally and anchovy in particularly brings more benefit for fishermen, especially dried anchovy as an exporting product is one of the main their income. The market requires that anchovy product has to be dried before packaging to export. There are many drying methods to process the anchovy but some problems might need to be solved such as the drying efficiency, the low product quality and sanitation, and the environmental annihilation. In order to using the profuse solar energy, a model for experiment investigation the anchovy dryer has been conducted in ThuDuc district, Hochiminh city with the anchovy caught from Kien giang and Baria-Vung tau province, southern Vietnam. The results indicate that solar energy is one of renewable energy which can be completely used for anchovy drying with high drying efficiency. The dried anchovy has good color, high quality, and especially it passes the requirements of food hygiene and environment protecting

    EVALUATION OF SOLAR RADIATION ESTIMATED FROM HIMAWARI-8 SATELLITE OVER VIETNAM REGION

    The development of Solar energy system is growing rapidly in Vietnam in recent years by encouragement of the Government in renewable energy. Requirement for accurate knowledge of the solar radiation reaching the surface is increasingly important in the successful deployment of Solar photovoltaic plants. However, measurements of different components of solar resources including direct normal irradiance (DNI) and global horizontal irradiance (GHI) are limited to few stations over whole country. Satellite imagery provides an ability to monitor the surface radiation over large areas at high spatial and temporal resolution as alternatives at low cost. Observations from the new Japanese geostationary satellite Himawari-8 produce imagery covering Asia-Pacific region, permitting estimation of GHI and DNI over Vietnam at 10-minute temporal resolution. However, accurate comparisons with ground observations are essential to assess their uncertainty. In this study, we evaluated the Himawari-8 radiation product AMATERASS provided by JST/CREST TEEDDA using observations recorded at 5 stations in different regions of Vietnam. The result shows good agreement between satellite estimation and observed data with high correlation of range 0.92-0.94, but better in clear-sky episodes.Because of AMATERASS outperform, we used it for validating ERA-Interim reanalysis in the spatial scale. The comparison was made dividedly for 7 climate zones and 4 seasons. The conclusion is that ERA-Interim is also well associated with satellite-based estimates in seasonal trend for all season, but in average the reanalysis has negative bias towards satellite estimates. This underestimation is more pronounced in the months of JJA and SON periods and in the north part of Vietnam because of unpredicted cloud in the ERA reanalysis

    Unmanned aerial vehicle-aided cooperative regenerative relaying network under various environments

    This paper studies a cooperative relay network that comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabling amplify-and-forward (AF) and power splitting (PS) based energy harvesting. The considered system can be constructed in various environments such as suburban, urban, dense urban, and high-rise urban where the air-to-ground channels are model by a mixture of Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading. Then, outage probability and ergodic capacity are provided under different environment-based parameters. Optimal PS ratios are also provided under normal and high transmit power regimes. Finally, the accuracy of the analytical results is validated through Monte Carlo methods

    Energy Consumption Minimization for Autonomous Mobile Robot: A Convex Approximation Approach

    In this paper, we consider a trajectory design problem of an autonomous mobile robot working in industrial environments. In particular, we formulate an optimization problem that jointly determines the trajectory of the robot and the time step duration to minimize the energy consumption without obstacle collisions. We consider both static and moving obstacles scenarios. The optimization problems are nonconvex, and the main contribution of this work proposing successive convex approximation (SCA) algorithms to solve the nonconvex problems with the presence of both static and moving obstacles. In particular, we first consider the optimization problem in the scenario with static obstacles and then consider the optimization problem in the scenario with static and moving obstacles. Then, we propose two SCA algorithms to solve the nonconvex optimization problems in both the scenarios. Simulation results clearly show that the proposed algorithms outperform the A* algorithm, in terms of energy consumption. This shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms

    Antibiotic Resistance Profile and Methicillin-Resistant Encoding Genes of Staphylococcus aureus Strains Isolated from Bloodstream Infection Patients in Northern Vietnam

    Background:  Evaluating the antibiotic susceptibility and resistance genes is essential in the clinical management of bloodstream infections (BSIs). Nevertheless, there are still limited studies in Northern Vietnam. AIM: This study aimed to determine the antibiotic resistance profile and methicillin-resistant encoding genes of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) causing BSIs in Northern Vietnam. METHODS: The cross-sectional study was done from December 2012 to June 2014 in two tertiary hospitals in Northern Vietnam. Tests performed at the lab of the hospital. RESULTS:  In 43 S. aureus strains isolating, 53.5 % were MRSA. Distribution of gene for overall, MRSA, and MSSA strains were following: mecA gene (58.1 %; 95.7%, and 15%), femA gene (48.8%, 47.8%, and 50%), femB gene (88.4%, 82.6%, and 95%). Antibiotic resistance was highest in penicillin (100%), followed by erythromycin (65.1%) and clindamycin (60.5%). Several antibiotics were susceptible (100%), including vancomycin, tigecycline, linezolid, quinupristin/dalfopristin. Quinolone group was highly sensitive, include ciprofloxacin (83.7%), levofloxacin (86%) and moxifloxacin (86%). CONCLUSION:  In S. aureus causing BSIs, antibiotic resistance was higher in penicillin, erythromycin, and clindamycin. All strains were utterly susceptible to vancomycin, tigecycline, linezolid, quinupristin/dalfopristin
