Many research on double skin sandwich having top and bottom steel plates and in between concrete core called as steel-concrete-steel (SCS) were carried out by them on this SCS type using with different materials. Yet, use of coconut shell concrete (CSC) as a core material on this SCS form construction and their results are very limited. Study investigated to use j-hook shear studs under flexure in the concept of steel-concrete-steel (SCS) in which the core concrete was CSC. To compare the results of CSC, the conventional concrete (CC) was also considered. To study the effect of quarry dust (QD) in its place of river sand (RS) was also taken. Hence four different mixes two without QD and two with QD both in CC and CSC was considered. The problem statement is to examine about partial and fully composite, moment capacity, deflection and ductility properties of CSC used SCS form of construction. Core concrete strength and the j-hook shear studs used are influences the moment carrying capacity of the SCS beams. Use of QD in its place of RS enhances the strength of concrete produced. Deflections predicted theoretically were compared with experimental results. The SCS beams showed good ductility behavior

A discrete controller is designed for high efficiency double frequency buck converter. This double frequency buck converter is comprised of two buck cells: one works at high frequency, and another works at low frequency. It operates in a way that current in the high frequency switch is diverted through the low frequency switch. Thus, the converter can operate at very high frequency without adding any additional control circuits. Moreover, the switching loss of the converter remains small. The proposed converter exhibits improved steady -- state and transient response with low switching loss. A digital compensator further improves the dynamic performance of the closed loop system. Simulation of digitally controlled double frequency buck converter is performed with MATLAB / Simulink. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller using LabVIEW with a Data Acquisition Card (NI - 9221).Dikretni regulator je projektiran za postizanje visoke efikasnosti silaznog pretvarača s dvostrukom frekvencijom preklapanja.

Potential for Thermal Enhancement by Quercetin Mediated Mechanisms Targeting p53 Antagonists in Human Melanoma Cells

Introduction: Recently Temozolomide (TMZ) has become the more commonly used analog of DTIC-related oral agents. Although the response rates achieved by TMZ alone are less than satisfactory, there is great interest in identifying compounds that could be used in combination therapy. We have previously demonstrated that the bioflavonoid quercetin (Qct) promotes a p53-mediated response in melanoma and sensitizes melanoma to DTIC. Here we demonstrate that Qct also sensitizes cells to TMZ by a mechanism that involves the modulation of a truncated p53 family member, ΔNp73. Switching power control for multimode multiband power amplifier

    Get PDF
Driven by ever-increasing consumer demand for wireless devices capable of supporting multiple air standards and applications, the implementation of multimode multiband (MMMB) power amplifier (PA) has been steadily increasing. This paper presents a design of a MMMB PA based on an industry-standard 130nm CMOS process technology, capable of operating in three power modes and in three different bands. Multiple gated transistor technique (MTGR) has been designed whereby the output power from the PA is controlled by external switching control voltage. Series combining transformer has been to adopted to achieve higher output power. The PA has 300MHz bandwidth starting from the frequency of 1.7GHz up to 2.0GHz, covering the LTE bands 1, 2 and 3, with output saturated power of 33dBm

Point Process Algorithm: A New Bayesian Approach for Planet Signal Extraction with the Terrestrial Planet Finder

    Get PDF
The capability of the Terrestrial Planet Finder Interferometer (TPF-I) for planetary signal extraction, including both detection and spectral characterization, can be optimized by taking proper account of instrumental characteristics and astrophysical prior information. We have developed the Point Process Algorithm (PPA), a Bayesian technique for extracting planetary signals using the sine-chopped outputs of a dual nulling interferometer. It is so-called because it represents the system being observed as a set of points in a suitably-defined state space, thus providing a natural way of incorporating our prior knowledge of the compact nature of the targets of interest. It can also incorporate the spatial covariance of the exozodi as prior information which could help mitigate against false detections. Data at multiple wavelengths are used simultaneously, taking into account possible spectral variations of the planetary signals. Input parameters include the RMS measurement noise and the a priori probability of the presence of a planet. The output can be represented as an image of the intensity distribution on the sky, optimized for the detection of point sources. Previous approaches by others to the problem of planet detection for TPF-I have relied on the potentially non-robust identification of peaks in a "dirty" image, usually a correlation map. Tests with synthetic data suggest that the PPA provides greater sensitivity to faint sources than does the standard approach (correlation map + CLEAN), and will be a useful tool for optimizing the design of TPF-I.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures. Get PDF
Multimode multiband connectivity has become a de-facto requirement for smartphones with 3G WCDMA/4G LTE applications. In transceivers, multiband operation is achieved by selecting an output from two or more signal path targeting for a specific frequency range in parallel or by using switched capacitor/inductor. In this paper, design methodology of 280nm CMOS switch is presented. Design optimization of RF CMOS switch is presented which is deciding proper selection of CMOS transistor parameters and switch size as per external circuit parameters. The CMOS switch of a 5-transistor stack with W/L=1200µm/280nm provides insertion loss 14dB. The switches designed when implemented in a multiband power amplifier (PA) exhibits 36dB gain at 1900MHz high-band and 34.5dB gain at 900MHz low-band with 27.5dBm peak power at both bands. The switch design methodologies presented in this paper should be of use in designing various blocks in emerging multiband transceiver applications
