Sphaleron transition rate in the classical 1+1 dimensional abelian Higgs model at finite temperature

model at finite temperature, by real time simulation using the classical

Generalized linear isotherm regularity equation of state applied to metals
A three-parameter equation of state (EOS) without physically incorrect
oscillations is proposed based on the generalized Lennard-Jones (GLJ) potential
and the approach in developing linear isotherm regularity (LIR) EOS of Parsafar
and Mason [J. Phys. Chem., 1994, 49, 3049]. The proposed (GLIR) EOS can include
the LIR EOS therein as a special case. The three-parameter GLIR, Parsafar and
Mason (PM) [Phys. Rev. B, 1994, 49, 3049], Shanker, Singh and Kushwah (SSK)
[Physica B, 1997, 229, 419], Parsafar, Spohr and Patey (PSP) [J. Phys. Chem. B,
2009, 113, 11980], and reformulated PM and SSK EOSs are applied to 30 metallic
solids within wide pressure ranges. It is shown that the PM, PMR and PSP EOSs
for most solids, and the SSK and SSKR EOSs for several solids, have physically
incorrect turning points, and pressure becomes negative at high enough
pressure. The GLIR EOS is capable not only of overcoming the problem existing
in other five EOSs where the pressure becomes negative at high pressure, but
also gives results superior to other EOSs.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure
The Nystrom plus Correction Method for Solving Bound State Equations in Momentum Space
A new method is presented for solving the momentum-space Schrodinger equation
with a linear potential. The Lande-subtracted momentum space integral equation
can be transformed into a matrix equation by the Nystrom method. The method
produces only approximate eigenvalues in the cases of singular potentials such
as the linear potential. The eigenvalues generated by the Nystrom method can be
improved by calculating the numerical errors and adding the appropriate
corrections. The end results are more accurate eigenvalues than those generated
by the basis function method. The method is also shown to work for a

Nonlinear dynamics of self-sustained supersonic reaction waves: Fickett's detonation analogue
The present study investigates the spatio-temporal variability in the
dynamics of self-sustained supersonic reaction waves propagating through an
excitable medium. The model is an extension of Fickett's detonation model with
a state dependent energy addition term. Stable and pulsating supersonic waves
are predicted. With increasing sensitivity of the reaction rate, the reaction
wave transits from steady propagation to stable limit cycles and eventually to
chaos through the classical Feigenbaum route. The physical pulsation mechanism
is explained by the coherence between internal wave motion and energy release.
The results obtained clarify the physical origin of detonation wave instability
in chemical detonations previously observed experimentally.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Representation of SO(3) Group by a Maximally Entangled State
A representation of the SO(3) group is mapped into a maximally entangled two
qubit state according to literatures. To show the evolution of the entangled
state, a model is set up on an maximally entangled electron pair, two electrons
of which pass independently through a rotating magnetic field. It is found that
the evolution path of the entangled state in the SO(3) sphere breaks an odd or
even number of times, corresponding to the double connectedness of the SO(3)
group. An odd number of breaks leads to an additional phase to the
entangled state, but an even number of breaks does not. A scheme to trace the
evolution of the entangled state is proposed by means of entangled photon pairs
and Kerr medium, allowing observation of the additional phase.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
