Background: Chronic encapsulated intracerebral hematoma (CEICH) is a rare type of intracerebral hematoma that is often misdiagnosed. To explore the characteristics of CEICH on computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Material/Methods: Clinical, CT, MRI, and susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) data of 5 patients who were diagnosed with CEICH on surgery and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results: CT showed quasi-circular or elliptical lesions with clear borders in all 5 cases and iso-density or low-density in the center of lesions that were surrounded by peripheral edema in 2 cases. CT showed mass effect in 5 patients. On contrast-enhanced CT, 2 cases exhibited mild ring enhancement, and 3 cases exhibited moderate ring enhancement. MRI showed cystic lesions with high uniform signal on T1-weighted images (T1WI) and T2-weighted images (T2WI), a lowsignal ring sign on the coated cystic lesions on T2WI, a lower signal ring sign on SWI, and ring enhancement after administration of contrast. Conclusions: CT imaging of CEICH did not reveal any typical characteristics in the studied patients. MRI showed an envelope with a "ring" an

A wireless passive temperature sensor is designed on the basis of a resonant circuit, fabricated on multilayer high temperature cofired ceramic (HTCC) tapes, and measured with an antenna in the wireless coupling way. Alumina ceramic used as the substrate of the sensor is fabricated by lamination and sintering techniques, and the passive resonant circuit composed of a planar spiral inductor and a parallel plate capacitor is printed and formed on the substrate by screen-printing and postfiring processes. Since the permittivity of the ceramic becomes higher as temperature rises, the resonant frequency of the sensor decreases due to the increasing capacitance of the circuit. Measurements on the input impedance versus the resonant frequency of the sensor are achieved based on the principle, and discussions are made according to the exacted relative permittivity of the ceramic and quality factor (Q) of the sensor within the temperature range from 19°C (room temperature) to 900°C. The results show that the sensor demonstrates good high-temperature characteristics and wide temperature range. The average sensitivity of the sensor with good repeatability and reliability is up to 5.22 KHz/°C. It can be applied to detect high temperature in harsh environment

Under the normal state of online and offline integrated learning of open courses, the low participation of learners and low learning results are hot issues that scholars in the industry pay more attention to. Accurate learning crisis warning and personalized teaching intervention are important measures to solve the above problems and improve teaching quality. Based on the analysis of the shortcomings of the existing learning early warning and teaching intervention, this study constructs a research framework of online open course learning early warning and intervention under the intelligent classroom learning environment. The framework diagnoses and warns learners\u27 learning state from three aspects: knowledge mastery, learning behavior and learning mood. According to the diagnosis and warning report of learners, the corresponding intervention strategies are carefully designed, and learning analysis and data mining are applied to accurately match the implementation of intervention strategies to ensure the intervention effect and finally achieve the purpose of improving the learning effect

Tusanqi-induced hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS) is caused by exposure to pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) and manifests as abdominal distension, liver pain, ascites, jaundice, and hepatomegaly. Pathologically, hepatic congestion and sinusoidal occlusion are observed in HSOS. We summarized the clinical characteristics of 124 patients with HSOS caused by Tusanqi in China between 1980 and 2019, along with those of 831 patients from seven English case series. The main clinical manifestations of PA-HSOS included abdominal pain, ascites, and jaundice. Common imaging features included characteristic heterogeneous density, slender hepatic veins, and other nonspecific changes. The acute stage is primarily manifested as hepatic sinus congestion and necrosis. Meanwhile, the persistence of hepatic sinus congestion and the onset of perisinusoidal fibrosis were observed during the repair stage. Finally, the persistence of hepatic sinusoidal fibrosis and resultant central hepatic vein occlusion were observed in the chronic stage. The new Nanjing standard for PA-HSOS incorporates the history of PA consumption and imaging features and eliminates weight gain and the serum total bilirubin value. Preliminary clinical validation of the Nanjing standard for PA-HSOS diagnosis revealed a sensitivity and specificity of 95.35 and 100%, respectively

Abstract Background Orchidaceae is one of the largest groups of angiosperms, and most species have high economic value and scientific research value due to their ornamental and medicinal properties. In China, Chinese Cymbidium is a popular ornamental orchid with high economic value and a long history. However, to date, no detailed information on the mitochondrial genome of any species of Chinese Cymbidium has been published. Results Here, we present the complete assembly and annotation of the mitochondrial genome of Cymbidium ensifolium (L.) Sw. The mitogenome of C. ensifolium was 560,647 bp in length and consisted of 19 circular subgenomes ranging in size from 21,995 bp to 48,212 bp. The genome encoded 35 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNAs, 3 rRNAs, and 3405 ORFs. Repeat sequence analysis and prediction of RNA editing sites revealed a total of 915 dispersed repeats, 162 simple repeats, 45 tandem repeats, and 530 RNA editing sites. Analysis of codon usage showed a preference for codons ending in A/T. Interorganellar DNA transfer was identified in 13 of the 19 chromosomes, with plastid-derived DNA fragments representing 6.81% of the C. ensifolium mitochondrial genome. The homologous fragments of the mitochondrial genome and nuclear genome were also analysed. Comparative analysis showed that the GC content was conserved, but the size, structure, and gene content of the mitogenomes varied greatly among plants with multichromosomal mitogenome structure. Phylogenetic analysis based on the mitogenomes reflected the evolutionary and taxonomic statuses of C. ensifolium. Interestingly, compared with the mitogenomes of Cymbidium lancifolium Hook. and Cymbidium macrorhizon Lindl., the mitogenome of C. ensifolium lost 8 ribosomal protein-coding genes. Conclusion In this study, we assembled and annotated the mitogenome of C. ensifolium and compared it with the mitogenomes of other Liliidae and plants with multichromosomal mitogenome structures. Our findings enrich the mitochondrial genome database of orchid plants and reveal the rapid structural evolution of Cymbidium mitochondrial genomes, highlighting the potential for mitochondrial genes to help decipher plant evolutionary history

    No full text
This study used a surface-based method to investigate brain functional alteration patterns in early-onset Parkinson’s disease (EOPD) and late-onset Parkinson’s disease (LOPD) to provide more reliable imaging indicators for the assessment of the two subtypes. A total of 58 patients with Parkinson’s disease were divided into two groups according to age at onset: EOPD (≤50 years; 16 males and 15 females) and LOPD (>50 years; 17 males and 10 females) groups. Two control groups were recruited from the community: young adults (YC; ≤50 years; 8 males and 19 females) and older adults (OC; >50 years; 12 males and 10 females). No significant differences were observed between the EOPD and YC groups or the LOPD and OC groups in terms of age, sex, education, and MMSE scores (p > 0.05). No statistically significant differences were observed between the EOPD and LOPD groups in terms of education, H-Y scale, UPDRS score, or HAMD score (p > 0.05). Data preprocessing and surface-based regional homogeneity (2D-ReHo) calculations were subsequently performed using the MATLAB-based DPABIsurf software. The EOPD group showed decreased 2D-ReHo values in the left premotor area and right dorsal stream visual cortex, along with increased 2D-ReHo values in the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. In patients with LOPD, 2D-ReHo values were decreased in bilateral somatosensory and motor areas and the right paracentral lobular and mid-cingulate. The imaging characterization of surface-based regional changes may serve useful as monitoring indicators and will help to better understand the mechanisms underlying divergent clinical presentations

Abstract Background Osteoporosis is a common systemic bone disease that leads to bone fragility and increases the risk of fracture. However, the pathogenesis of osteoporosis is considered to be highly complex. The exosomes can regulate the communication between cells. The specific mechanism of information transmission between osteoblasts and endothelial cells is worthy of further study. Methods Exosomes were isolated and verified from senescent osteoblasts. The source and properties of exosomes were determined by TEM, particle size analysis and western blot. We established the co-culture model of endothelial cells and senescent osteoblasts. We used qRT-PCR to identify differentially expressed miRNAs. The functional changes of vascular endothelial cells were verified by cell transfection. β-Galactosidase cell senescence assay, Hoechst cell apoptosis assay, Ki67 cell proliferation assay and Transwell migration assay were used to verify cell senescence, apoptosis, proliferation, and migration. The potential target gene of miRNA was detected by bio-informatics pathway and double luciferase report. Results We discovered that senescent osteoblasts could promote the senescence and apoptosis of vascular endothelial cells and inhibit their proliferation and migration. miR-214-3p was upregulated in senescent osteoblast-derived exosomes. miR-214-3p could effectively promote senescence and apoptosis of endothelial cells and inhibit proliferation and migration ability. L1CAM is a miR-214-3p direct target gene determined by bio-informatics and double luciferase report. Conclusions In conclusion, senescent osteoblast-derived exosomes can accelerate endothelial cell senescence through miR-214-3p/L1CAM pathway. Our experiments reveal the role of exosomes in the skeletal microenvironment
