This study aims to determine the effect of the influence of Exchange Rates, Inflation, Libor, and GDP to the Foreign Direct Invesment (FDI) In Indonesia. The data used in this study is a time series data from 1998 to 2013 were sourced from Invesment Coordinating Board (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal), Bank Indonesia, and Central Bureau of Statistics (Badan Pusat Statisitik). This study used quantitative research methods, and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 20 application for Windows computers. In this study, the independent variable is Exchange Rates (X1), Inflation (X2), Libor (X3), and GDP (X4), while the dependent is realitation Foreign Direct Invesment (Y).This study tested the hypothesis of regression coefficient (coefficient of determination, a significant test concurrent / F test, and the significant individual test / t test). The result showed that the variable Exchange Rates, Inflation, libor and GDP at once / simultaneously have a significant influence on the realitation Foreign Direct Invesment (FDI). The individual test / partial showed that Gross Domestic Product variable acquired that contributes greater than the variable rate of Exchange Rates, Inflation, and Libor ont the realitation Foreign Direct Invesment (FDI).Keywords:Exchange Rate, Inflation, London Inter Bank Offering Rate (LIBOR), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and Foreign Direct Invesment (FDI)

The development of female entrepreneurs in Indonesia is an integral part of Muslim women\u27s economic contributions and empowerment. However, there is a lack of reliable research about female entrepreneurship and how gender may affect the experiences of business ownership in Indonesia. Therefore, the aim of this study is to explore the challenges encountered by these women entrepreneurs on a daily basis. Qualitative in-depth interviews were conducted with 30 female Indonesian entrepreneurs. Participants were recruited using theoretical and maximum variation sampling techniques. Content analysis was then used to analyze the data. Results revealed high levels of variations, both within and between women, suggesting that the quality of business entrepreneurship and success depended largely on the personal characteristics of these women, rather than on any system of formal education or training. This study also found that many women displayed resilient coping strategies when dealing with business failures. As a consequence, they were able to thrive despite restrictive social, cultural and political constraints. The paper highlights the importance of the experiences of female entrepreneurs in a developing country and the need to integrate the development of female entrepreneurship as a part of women empowerment effort

The impact of foreign direct investment, foreign aid and trade on poverty reduction : evidence from Sub-Saharan African countries

Abstract:Despite postulations on the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI), foreign aid, and trade on growth, empirical evidence from extant research has been mixed. The focus of recent research has shifted from the growth effects of these international flows to their poverty reduction effects. However, results have also been mixed. Most studies have examined the empirical evidence of these flows separately and have mostly conducted single country studies. In this study, we use data from twenty-nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa between the period 1990–2017 to analyze the effects of FDI, trade, and foreign aid on poverty reduction in a single model using the Feasible Generalized Least Square (FGLS) technique. Our results show that FDI and foreign aid have a negative effect on poverty reduction in the countries studied. These results suggest that the level of FDI required to alleviate poverty has not been reached, and foreign aid have not been properly channeled. However, the results show that trade has a positive and significant impact on poverty reduction, especially in low-income countries. We conclude with policy recommendations
