Comments on T-dualities of Ramond-Ramond Potentials
The type IIA/IIB effective actions compactified on T^d are known to be
invariant under the T-duality group SO(d, d; Z) although the invariance of the
R-R sector is not so direct to see. Inspired by a work of Brace, Morariu and
Zumino,we introduce new potentials which are mixture of R-R potentials and the
NS-NS 2-form in order to make the invariant structure of R-R sector more
transparent. We give a simple proof that if these new potentials transform as a
Majorana-Weyl spinor of SO(d, d; Z), the effective actions are indeed invariant
under the T-duality group. The argument is made in such a way that it can apply
to Kaluza-Klein forms of arbitrary degree. We also demonstrate that these new

Odd-frequency Cooper pair amplitude around a vortex core in a chiral p-wave superconductor in the quantum limit
Solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation, we study the spatial structure of
odd-frequency s-wave Cooper pair amplitudes at each quantized energy level of
vortex bound states in chiral p-wave superconductors. For zero energy Majorana
states, the odd-frequency s-wave pair amplitude has the same spatial structure
as that of the local density of states even in atomic length scale. This
relation also holds in finite energy bound states for single vortex winding
anti-parallel to the chirality, but not for parallel vortex winding. The double

Weyl Groups in AdS(3)/CFT(2)
The system of D1 and D5 branes with a Kaluza-Klein momentum is
re-investigated using the five-dimensional U-duality group E_{6(+6)}(Z). We
show that the residual U-duality symmetry that keeps this D1-D5-KK system
intact is generically given by a lift of the Weyl group of F_{4(+4)}, embedded
as a finite subgroup in E_{6(+6)}(Z). We also show that the residual U-duality
group is enhanced to F_{4(+4)}(Z) when all the three charges coincide. We then
apply the analysis to the AdS(3)/CFT(2) correspondence, and discuss that among
28 marginal operators of CFT(2) which couple to massless scalars of AdS(3)
gravity at boundary, 16 would behave as exactly marginal operators for generic
D1-D5-KK systems. This is shown by analyzing possible three-point couplings
among 42 Kaluza-Klein scalars with the use of their transformation properties

Refining Coarse-grained Spatial Data using Auxiliary Spatial Data Sets with Various Granularities
We propose a probabilistic model for refining coarse-grained spatial data by
utilizing auxiliary spatial data sets. Existing methods require that the
spatial granularities of the auxiliary data sets are the same as the desired
granularity of target data. The proposed model can effectively make use of
auxiliary data sets with various granularities by hierarchically incorporating
Gaussian processes. With the proposed model, a distribution for each auxiliary
data set on the continuous space is modeled using a Gaussian process, where the
representation of uncertainty considers the levels of granularity. The
fine-grained target data are modeled by another Gaussian process that considers
both the spatial correlation and the auxiliary data sets with their
uncertainty. We integrate the Gaussian process with a spatial aggregation
process that transforms the fine-grained target data into the coarse-grained
target data, by which we can infer the fine-grained target Gaussian process
from the coarse-grained data. Our model is designed such that the inference of
model parameters based on the exact marginal likelihood is possible, in which
the variables of fine-grained target and auxiliary data are analytically
integrated out. Our experiments on real-world spatial data sets demonstrate the

Potential Usefulness of the Kampo Medicine Yokukansan
Background. Paediatric emotional and behavioural disorders (EBD) are relatively common diseases. Although nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic treatments are utilized in these cases, it is sometimes difficult to manage the symptoms of EBD. Historically, Uncaria hook has been used for treating nighttime crying and convulsions in children. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that the Kampo medicine Yokukansan (YKS), which contains Uncaria hook, is efficacious for behaviour disorders in Alzheimer’s disease patients. Herein, we investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of YKS in a series of cases with paediatric EBD. Patients and Methods. We retrospectively reviewed all paediatric patients who sought Japanese Kampo therapy at our outpatient clinics between April 1, 2012, and April 30, 2013; we selected patients who were diagnosed with paediatric EBD and were treated with YKS. Results. After screening all candidates, 3 patients were eligible for this analysis. Their average age was 11.6 years (range 10–13 years). All 3 patients responded very well to YKS within 1 month. No drug-related adverse events were observed during the course of YKS treatment. Conclusion. Yokukansan may be efficacious for paediatric EBD. We believe these results warrant further evaluation of the clinical efficacy and safety of Yokukansan for paediatric EBD in a carefully designed, double-blind, randomized clinical study
Calculation Method of the Optimum Configurations of the Extended Surfaces with Simultaneous Conductive, Convective and Radiative Heat Transfer in Heat Exchanger
A simultaneous conductive, convective and radiative heat transfer in the extended surface systems of longitudinally finned cylinders and circumferentially finned cylinders is treated analytically, by taking the radiative interaction into consideration. A procedure to determine the optimum configurations of extended surfaces is examined for the various kinds of combinations of six heat transfer parameters from the viewpoint of saving fin material. It is found that if the radiative interaction is not taken into consideration, wrong results are included. Instead of using the complex optimization algorithm, a graphical expression is adopted to show the numerical coefficients and indices in the formulas which give the optimum dimensionless fin height and the minimum fin volume
