    Analysis of spinner straightening utilizing the finite element method

    This paper presents analysis methods utilizing the Finite Element Method for spinner straightening, and shows a guideline for optimum conditions. Two types of analysis methods were composed. Model [F-Expl], “full actual model with explicit scheme”, considers the rotational movement of dies as the actual process using the explicit scheme. Model [BndCr], “a model carrying out fundamental analysis on one cross section based on simple bending in the Finite Element Method (FEM)”, uses the FEM only for calculation of simple bending without rotation for obtaining the deformed bar shape. A series of experiments were conducted in an actual production line as well as the analyses by Model [F-Expl] and [BndCr]. The examination mainly focused upon the effect of straightening intensity by changing the die positions. The experimental and analytical results show some mechanism of straightening and a basic guideline for the optimum working condition

    A simple dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model with embedded artificial intelligence and robot (AI/robot) capital is analyzed in this study. The aim of this study is to use this model to examine how introducing a limited basic income policy with a specific revenue source and specific redistribution target would affect the consumption of households and consumption gap between households.The impulse response function (IRF) analysis shows that the response of each economic variable to AI/robot capital increase shock is suppressed. Further, as Ricardian households consumption is also suppressed, the effect of increasing total consumption and output are also suppressed. However, by distributing AI/robot capital income taxation, the non-Ricardian households consumption is pushed up in response to the AI/robot capital increase shock, leading to significantly shorter period of consumption decline. The results show that the limited basic income policy in this study suppresses the response of each economic variable to AI/robot capital increase shock, and helps reduce the consumption gap between households

    Abnormality Detection of Persons Living Alone Using Daily Life Patterns Obtained from Sensors

    In this research, the goal was construction of a system by which multiple sensors were used to observe the daily life behavior of persons living alone (while respecting their privacy). Using this information to judge such conditions as a bad physical condition or falling in the home, etc., so that these abnormal conditions can be made known to relatives and third parties. The daily life patterns of persons living alone are expressed by the number of responses of sensors each time that a set time period has elapsed. By comparing data for the prior two weeks, it was possible to judge a situation as 'normal' when the person was in a good physical condition or as 'abnormal' when the person was in a bad physical condition
