Peningkatan hasil belajar dalam pokok bahasan pesawat sederhana dengan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif jigsaw di kelas V SD 008 Babulu

Dalam realita sehari-hari di sekolah seringkali kita jumpai suatu proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru. Dalam proses pembelajaran tersebut pendapat dan konsep yang diadopsi dari bukubuku teks terlalu mendominasi. Siswa tidak diberi kesempatan untuk menyampaikan pendapat, siswa tidak diberi peluang untuk memperoleh pengalaman untuk mengembangkan tingkah lakunnya sesuai sasaran belajar yang telah dirumuskan. Kelas diatur sedemikian ketat, suasana diciptakan begitu hening, sehingga tidak memungkinkan munculnya ide dan kreatifitas siswa. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menyumbangkan pemikiran dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif adalah salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas V SD 008 Babulu Kab. Penajam Paser Utara Semester Genap Tahun 2009 / 2010. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif dari segi kualitatif dapat memunculkan potensi diri yang terefleksi melalui: sikap menghargai pendapat teman, bekerjasama dalam kelompok dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah.Dipandang dari segi kuantitatif penerapan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode kooperatif jigsaw dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa

Upaya meningkatkan pemahaman terhadap pokok bahasan alat pencernaan makanan pada manusia dengan menggunakan teknik ”mencari pasangan” pada siswa kelas V semester I di SDN 008 Babulu- Ppu tahun pelajaran 2009-2010

Kondisi pembelajaran Sains saat ini di SDN 008 Babulu kelas V kurang memuaskan karena kurangnya inovasi dari guru saat proses pembelajaran di sekolah, sesuai dengan pendapat sekitar 80% siswa yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran kurang menarik (hasil penjaringan dengan angket). Pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah dengan permainan mencari pasangan yaitu menggunakan kartu yang berisi konsep atau topik yang cocok, satu bagian kartu soal dan bagian lainnya kartu jawaban. Setelah dilakukan Tindakan bagi Siswa kelas V SDN 008 Babulu, jumlah siswa yang tuntas belajar dapat ditingkatkan dari 47% menjadi 94 %, 75% termotifasi yang ditandai dengan terbangunnya keberanian mengemukakan pendapat dalam proses pembelajaran serta muncul perilaku yang mendukung pengembangan potensi dirinnya, yang terefleksi melalui: Menghargai pendapat teman 100%, Bekerjasama dalam kelompok 100%, Kemampuan memecahkan masalah 80%

The Impact of Health Status and Out-of-Pocket Medical Expenditures on Annuity Valuation

This paper describes how differences in health status at retirement can influence the decision to purchase a life annuity. We extend previous research on annuitization decisions by incorporating the effect of health differentials via differences in survival throughout the latter portion of life. Next, we consider how precautionary savings motivated by uncertain out-of-pocket medical expenses influence annuitization decisions. Our results show that annuities become less attractive to people facing uncertain medical expenses. While full annuitization would still be optimal if annuity markets were truly complete and both life- and health-contingent, lacking this, annuity equivalent wealth values are much lower for those in poor health, as compared to persons in good health.

The number of centenarians in Brazil: Indirect estimates based on death certificates

The Brazilian population is rapidly aging. As a result, the number of centenarians has grown steadily, about 77 per cent between 1991 and 2000. Although expected, the increasing number of centenarians may be exaggerated by data quality issues. We compare the recorded centenarian population in the 1991 census with indirect estimates based on the extinct generation method. We find three times more people in the census than according to the indirect estimates. A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is presented in the diphoton decay channel. The data used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb−1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in protonproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 7TeV

GERMAN INSTITUTIONS IN VALPARAISO 1850 -1930: A FORM OF DEFENSE OF CULTURAL IDENTITY

Se analizan las diferentes instituciones creadas por la colectividad alemana de Valparaíso, durante el período 1850-1930, a fin detectar las funciones que estas cumplieron en cuanto a organismos que estimularon la preservación de la identidad germana o, por el contrario, facilitaron la integración del colectivo a la  sociedad receptora. Llama la atención la gran cantidad de instituciones creadas y la fuerte interrelación existente entre ellas y el uso de  los organismos financieros y comerciales internacionales de origen germano. Por otro lado, se perciben características clasistas en muchas de las asociaciones, especialmente en el ámbito de la sociabilidad, por lo cual los lugares de encuentro están diferenciados. Se percibe también un diferente nivel de participación de parte de los miembros de la comunidad como consecuencia de la posición social a la que pertenecen, de tal modo que la elite asume la dirigencia y apoyo financiero de las diferentes asociaciones y, los  otros sectores, hacen uso de los servicios que aquellas entregan cancelando cuotas como socios.It analyzes the different institutions created by  the German collectivity of Valparaiso, during  the period 1850-1930, in order to detect the  functions fulfilled regarding these organisms  stimulated German identity preservation or,  conversely, facilitated integration belonging  to the host society. Particularly striking is  the large number of institutions created  and the strong relationship between these  measures and the use of financial and trading  organizations of Germanic origin. On the other  hand, are perceived class features in many  of the associations, especially in the field of  sociability, thus meeting places are different. It  also receives a different level of participation  of the members of the community as a result  of the social position to which they belong, so  that the elite assumed the leadership and financial  support of associations and other sectors, they use  of the services delivered canceling those shares as  partners. &nbsp

Testimonies: German immigrant women in Valparaiso around mid-nineteenth century

Indexación: Revista UNABEl presente trabajo tiene como propósito conocer las opiniones de dos mujeres inmigrantes alemanas de Valparaíso, a mediados del siglo XIX, a fin de comprender su cultura y reflexiones personales sobre el medio local. Aunque se trata de dos perspectivas diferentes, se perciben comportamientos similares, especialmente respecto de su escasa relación con la sociedad nativa.This paper aims to know the opinions of two German women living in Valparaiso as immigrants in the mid-nineteenth century, in order to understand their culture and personal reflections on the local environment.
