    The formalisation of specifications from specifications written in natural language

    pp. 369-374International audienceThe activity of specification is becoming considerable; every day an enormous quantity of pages which, for the most part, is written in natural language. For CNET, which carries out studies of the services and equipment of France Telecom and which has the capability of putting into practice the stages of specification and validation, the need to reduce the time needed in the development of the services is a priority. One method towards achieving this objective is to formalise the maximum number of specifications received. With this in mind, we will try to demonstrate the possibility of a certain automation in the passage from the informal to the formal, by means of methods and proven tools, available to assist an expert in specifications. For this end we propose a process of formalisation which relies on an intermediary representation of the specifications with the formalism of conceptual graphs before arriving at a formal description in Z of the initial spécification

    National audienceL'activité de spécification devient considérable ; une multitude de pages sont écrites tous les jours et la plupart du temps en langage naturel. Pour le CNET (Centre National d'Etudes des Télécommunications), qui réalise des études de services et d'équipements de France Telecom, et qui possÚde la maßtrise des étapes de spécification et de validation, a nécessité de réduire les temps de développement des services est une priorité. Une condition pour atteindre cet objectif consiste à formaliser le maximum de spécifications produites. Dans ce contexte, nous essayerons de montrer, la possibilité d'une certaine automatisation du passage de l'informel au formel, grùce à des méthodes et outils fiables, susceptibles d'assister un expert humain en spécifications. Nous proposons pour cela un processus de formalisation qui s'appuie sur une représentatin intermédiaire des spécifications avec le formalisme des graphes conceptuels, avant de dériver une description formelle en Z de la spécification initiale

    A method and a tool for geocoding and record linkage

    For many years, researchers have presented the geocoding of postal addresses as a challenge. Several research works have been devoted to achieve the geocoding process. This paper presents theoretical and technical aspects for geolocalization, geocoding, and record linkage. It shows possibilities and limitations of existing methods and commercial software identifying areas for further research. In particular, we present a methodology and a computing tool allowing the correction and the geo-coding of mailing addresses. The paper presents two main steps of the methodology. The first preliminary step is addresses correction (addresses matching), while the second caries geocoding of identified addresses. Additionally, we present some results from the processing of real data sets.     Instructional software is more en more used in education. This drives pedagogy and computer science toward research on its own design. We submit in this paper a design method which is on the one hand based on the original properties of numeric information, and on the other hand on the pedagogical management of this information. Our method is founded on a model of information’s representation (the Logical Units) along with a design approach that actually allows the representation of the information according to the model. We finally describe an experiment we completed, in order to apply and evaluate ourL’usage des supports hypermĂ©dia dans la formation est aujourd’hui en pleine expansion. Cette expansion invite les pĂ©dagogues et les informaticiens Ă  rĂ©flĂ©chir sur la conception de tels supports. Nous proposons, au travers de cet article une mĂ©thode de conception fondĂ©e d’une part sur les propriĂ©tĂ©s originales du support et d’autre part sur l’exploitation de ce support dans un cadre de formation.     An IMS LD Graphic Editor using the graphs representation for modifying the course structures

(Paquette, Marino, De la Teja, Léonard, & Lundgren-Cayrol, 2005) Abstract: We developed a Web portal, named netUniversité, that enables the teachers to create their courses online then to visualize, manage and participate to them. In order to create and execute the courses content, we have implemented an IMS LD player and an IMS LD web course content editor. These modules are integrated in the netUniversité;. Using this application the teacher can automatically generate educational Web site structures, adding the pedagogical contents in these structures. However, the main weakness of a web editor (like ours) is the lack of a global view of course structure. These aspects prompted us to create a graphical editor that offers to the teacher a perspective on the IMS LD document with the possibility to perform some basic editing operations (adding, moving, deleting) in order to complete the web editor.     Structuration et scénarisation de documents pédagogiques numériques dans une logique de massification

    In one hand digital documents are more en more used and in the other hand new needs are emerging in the field of institutional education and professional training. The consequence is a skyrocketing development of instructional digital documents. In this paper we submit an industrial design model that aims to conciliate a generic documentary meta-model along with specific pedagogical models, in a mass-production context. Our research is based on a theoretical approach from the state of the art study (content/form separation, content ! scenario separation and content ! actions association) and on a empirical approach from practical experiments (XF01 and SCENARI). The result of our work is PS/LU metamodel which enables a methodological and a technological framework in order to : logically represent multimedia and pedagogical information (as Logical-Units), deal information towards pedagogical scripts (as Pedagogical-Schemas) and present information so that it can be manipulated (as Interaction-Sheets).La croissance spectaculaire du numĂ©rique (internet en tĂȘte), combinĂ©e aux besoins nouveaux dans le domaine de la formation (professionnelle notamment ) ont conduit Ă  un dĂ©veloppement considĂ©rable de la production de documents pĂ©dagogiques numĂ©riques. Notre travail s’inscrit au sein de cette problĂ©matique, afin d’élaborer un modĂšle de conception industrielle qui permette l'application d’un modĂšle documentaire gĂ©nĂ©rique, et l'intĂ©gration de modĂšles pĂ©dagogiques spĂ©cifiques, dans une perspective de massification. Ce modĂšle a Ă©tĂ© conçu Ă  partir d’une approche thĂ©orique depuis l’état de l’art (sĂ©paration fond/forme, sĂ©paration contenu/scĂ©narisation et association information/actions) et une approche empirique depuis nos expĂ©rimentations (XF01 et SCENARl).     Ces travaux portent sur l'Ă©valuation des projets de transport Ă  partir d'un ensemble de critĂšres ayant des degrĂ©s d'importance diffĂ©rents, en interaction, Ă©valuĂ©s par des sources d'information hĂ©tĂ©rogĂšnes (experts, enquĂȘtes, capteurs, modĂšles etc.). Les donnĂ©es collectĂ©es sont gĂ©nĂ©ralement entachĂ©es d'incertitude, d'imprĂ©cision et d'incomplĂ©tude. Pour rĂ©soudre ce problĂšme d'Ă©valuation des projets de transport, nous proposons une approche hybride baptisĂ©e HA4IA. Elle est basĂ©e sur la thĂ©orie de l'analyse multicritĂšres, la logique floue et la thĂ©orie des croyances. Ces cadres thĂ©oriques prĂ©sentent un cadre propice pour la gestion des donnĂ©es imprĂ©cises et incertaines. Nous proposons aussi un outil orientĂ© web (DeSSIA), basĂ© sur l'approche proposĂ©e. L'approche a Ă©tĂ© appliquĂ©e pour plusieurs projets de transport implĂ©mentĂ©s (Ă  La Rochelle - France) dans le cadre d'un projet europĂ©en (SUCCESS / programme CIVITAS). L'outil dĂ©veloppĂ© est basĂ© sur un environnement informatique open source (R, PHP, Mapserver, Mapscript, Jpgraph, XHTML, Ajax etc.). Il permet d'Ă©valuer divers impacts liĂ©s Ă  la mobilitĂ© urbaine. Les rĂ©sultats d'Ă©valuation peuvent ĂȘtre reprĂ©sentĂ©s sous forme de graphes (Ă  l'aide des techniques de reprĂ©sentation graphique) ou de cartes (trafic, pollution, acoustique). La cartographie permet de reprĂ©senter la rĂ©partition spatio-temporelle des impacts prĂ©sentant un outil supplĂ©mentaire d'aide Ă  l'Ă©valuation gĂ©ospatiale. Tout au long du dĂ©veloppement de cet outil, une attention particuliĂšre a Ă©tĂ© accordĂ©e Ă  l'identification et aux rĂ©ponses apportĂ©es aux attentes de potentiels utilisateurs: services de transports urbains, spĂ©cialistes en amĂ©nagement du territoire, socio-Ă©conomistes ou Ă©cologistes.These works problem consists in evaluating projects of transport starting from a set of criteria having different degrees of importance, in interaction and evaluated by heterogeneous sources of information (experts, surveys, sensors, model etc). The collected data are generally sullied with uncertainty and inaccuracy. To solve this problem of projects evaluation related to transportation, we propose a hybrid approach entitled HA4IA (Hybrid Approach for Impacts Assessment). It is based on the theory of the multi criteria analysis, fuzzy logic and belief theory. These theoretical frameworks present a favourable framework for the management of the vague and uncertain data. We propose also a tool (DeSSIA), based on the proposed approach. The approach was applied for several projects of transport implemented (in La Rochelle - France) within the framework of a European project (SUCCESS under CIVITAS program). The developed tool is based on a data-processing environment open source (R, PHP, Mapserver, Mapscript, Jpgraph, XHTML, Ajax etc). It makes it possible to evaluate various impacts related to urban mobility. The results of evaluation can be represented in the form of graphs (using the techniques of chart) or of maps (traffic, pollution, acoustics).
