The political dimension of animal ethics in the context of bioethics: problems of integration and future challenges
Animal ethics has reached a new phase with the development of animal ethical thinking. Topics and problems previously discussed in terms of moral theories and ethical concepts are now being reformulated in terms of political theory and political action. This constitutes a paradigm shift for Animal Ethics. It indicates the transition from a field focused on relations between individuals (humans and animals) to a new viewpoint that incorporates the political dimensions of the relationships between human communities and non-human animals. Animals are no longer seen as a heterogeneous group of sentient beings or simply as species, but as part of a common good that is simultaneously human and animal. In order to participate in this new phase, bioethics will have to face a series of challenges that have hindered the integration of animal ethics within its field. It will also need the development of a new theoretical framework based on relations between communities of individuals. This framework will be able to highlight the ethical and political dimensions that arise from interactions between human communities, non-human animals and the ecosystem
The upswing of regional income inequality in Spain (1860-1930).
This paper studies the evolution of Spanish regional inequality from 1860 to 1930. The results point to the coexistence of two basic forces behind changes in regional economic inequality: industrial specialization and labor productivity differentials. The initial expansion of industrialization, in a context of growing economic integration of regions, promoted the spatial concentration of manufacturing in certain regions, which also benefited from the greatest advances in terms of labor productivity. Since 1900, the diffusion of manufacturing production to a greater number of locations generated the emulation of production structures and a process of catching-up in labor productivity and wages.Industrialization; Market Integration; Heckscher-Ohlin Model; New Economic Geography;

Cached Geometry Manager for View-dependent LOD Rendering
The new generation of commodity graphics cards with significant on-board video memory has become widely
popular and provides high-performance rendering and flexibility. One of the features to be exploited with this
hardware is the use of the on-board video memory to store geometry information. This strategy significantly
reduces the data transfer overhead from sending geometry data over the (AGP) bus interface from main memory
to the graphics card. However, taking advantage of cached geometry is not a trivial task because the data models
often exceed the memory size of the graphics card. In this paper we present a dynamic Cached Geometry
Manager (CGM) to address this issue. We show how this technique improves the performance of real-time
view-dependent level-of-detail (LOD) selection and rendering algorithms of large data sets. Alternative caching
approaches have been analyzed over two different view-dependent progressive mesh (VDPM) frameworks: one
for rendering of arbitrary manifold 3D meshes, and one for terrain visualization
Identification of the donor in GRS 1915+105
We report on the results of medium-resolution spectroscopy of GRS 1915+105 in
the H and K band using the 8m VLT at ESO. We clearly identify absorption
bandheads from CO12 and CO13. Together with other features this results in a

Effects of internal brand knowledge dissemination on the employee
Purpose: This study aims to examine the internal brand knowledge dissemination process in the banking sector and its effects on employees. Specifically, it focuses on the key roles of employee identification with both the organization and with the customer as antecedents of behaviors supportive of the brand, i.e. employee citizenship behaviors and recommendation behaviors. Design/methodology/approach: An empirical study was carried out in a major Spanish bank. Data gathered from a survey of 315 employees were analyzed through structural equation modeling. Findings: The results showed that employees'' perceptions of brand value congruence are key in explaining their identification with both the organization and with the customer. However, the employees'' perceptions of the brand''s authenticity explained only their recommendations of the bank as a good place to work. Originality/value: These findings contribute to the advance in the current knowledge of the role of variables such as brand authenticity and employee–customer identification in internal brand management. From a managerial viewpoint, the results provide insights into the importance of employees'' perceptions and attitudes when it comes to brand knowledge dissemination. © 2021, Emerald Publishing Limited
Follow-up of X-ray transients detected by SWIFT with COLORES using the BOOTES network
The Burst Observer and Optical Transient Exploring System (BOOTES) is a
network of telescopes that allows the continuous monitoring of transient
astrophysical sources. It was originally devoted to the study of the optical
emission from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) that occur in the Universe. In this paper
we show the initial results obtained using the spectrograph COLORES (mounted on
