Critical Successful Factors of ERP Implementation: A Review
Recently e-business has become the focus of management interest both in academics and in business. Among the major components of e-business, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is the backbone of other applications. Therefore more and more enterprises attempt to adopt this new application in order to improve their business competitiveness. Owing to the specific characteristics of ERP, its implementation is more difficult than that of traditional information systems. For this reason, how to implement ERP successfully becomes an important issue for both academics and practitioners. Phase diagrams of period-4 spin chains consisting of three kinds of spins
We study a period-4 antiferromagnetic mixed quantum spin chain consisting of
three kinds of spins. When the ground state is singlet, the spin magnitudes in
a unit cell are arrayed as (s-t, s, s+t, s) with integer or half-odd integer s
and t (0 <= t < s). The spin Hamiltonian is mapped onto a nonlinear sigma model
(NLSM) in a previously developed method. The resultant NLSM includes only two
independent parameters originating from four exchange constants for fixed s and
t. The topological angle in the NLSM determines the gapless phase boundaries
between disordered phases in the parameter space. The phase diagrams for
various s and t shows rich structures. We systematically explain the phases in

Coherence between tissue oxygen indexes in vastus lateralis and gastrocnemius in repetition of impulse exercise with high intensity
The purpose of this study was to determine whether tissue oxygen indices (TOIs) in two muscle groups oscillated and were synchronized in repetition of impulse exercise with high intensity. Five impulse exercises of 400 watts for 10 s were repeated with intervals of 6 min. During this period, TOI was determined by near-infrared spectroscopy in the vastus lateralis and gastrocnemius muscles. TOIs in the two muscles oscillated at rest. The TOIs rapidly decreased during each impulse exercise and then recovered and overshot after each impulse. The TOIs oscillated during each interval period. During this test period, coherent and phase differences were determined. There was high coherence between TOIs in the two muscles with a peak value at 0.019 Hz. There was a phase difference of â45 ± 32.4 degrees between TOIs in the two muscles. This phase difference corresponded to about 6 s in time scale. It seemed from this time delay that impulse exercise was not a trigger factor for the starting point of TOIs in the two muscles. It has been concluded that TOIs oscillate and are synchronized between two muscles in repetition of impulse exercise with high intensity

Identification of supraoptimal temperatures in juvenile blueback herring (\u3cem\u3eAlosa aestivalis\u3c/em\u3e) using survival, growth rate and scaled energy reserves
For young fishes, growth of somatic tissues and energy reserves are critical steps for survival and progressing to subsequent life stages. When thermal regimes become supraoptimal, routine metabolic rates increase and leave less energy for young fish to maintain fitness-based activities and, in the case of anadromous fishes, less energy to prepare for emigration to coastal habitats. Thus, understanding how energy allocation strategies are affected by thermal regimes in young anadromous fish will help to inform climate-ready management of vulnerable species and their habitat. Blueback herring (Alosa aestivalis) are an anadromous fish species that remain at historically low population levels and are undergoing southern edge-range contraction, possibly due to climate change. We examined the effects of temperature (21°C, 24°C, 27°C, 30°C, 33°C) on survival, growth rate and energy reserves of juveniles collected from the mid-geographic range of the species. We identified a strong negative relationship between temperature and growth rate, resulting in smaller juveniles at high temperatures. We observed reduced survival at both 21°C and 33°C, increased fat and lean mass-at-length at high temperatures, but no difference in energy density. Juveniles were both smaller and contained greater scaled energy reserves at higher temperatures, indicating growth in length is more sensitive to temperature than growth of energy reserves. Currently, mid-geographic range juvenile blueback herring populations may be well suited for local thermal regimes, but continued warming could decrease survival and growth rates. Blueback herring populations may benefit from mitigation actions that maximize juvenile energy resources by increasing the availability of cold refugia and food-rich habitats, as well as reducing other stressors such as hypoxic zones
Structure of a bacterial type IV secretion core complex at subnanometre resolution
Type IV secretion (T4S) systems are able to transport DNAs and/or proteins through the membranes of bacteria. They form large multiprotein complexes consisting of 12 proteins termed VirB1-11 and VirD4. VirB7, 9 and 10 assemble into a 1.07 MegaDalton membrane-spanning core complex (CC), around which all other components assemble. This complex is made of two parts, the O-layer inserted in the outer membrane and the I-layer inserted in the inner membrane. While the structure of the O-layer has been solved by X-ray crystallography, there is no detailed structural information on the I-layer. Using high-resolution cryo-electron microscopy and molecular modelling combined with biochemical approaches, we determined the I-layer structure and located its various components in the electron density. Our results provide new structural insights on the CC, from which the essential features of T4S system mechanisms can be derived
The Invisible Platform of E-Business: Trust
E-Business is the new business imperative in the age of Internet. With the features of Internet, business can extend their business activities across space and time. Without traditional fact-to-face interaction, most of the e-business activities can be done through networks. Since they do not have to see each other during e-business transaction, the levels of trust between members are pretty low. Mutual trust within a business, between suppliers and retailers, and between sellers and customers is the most important successful factors of e-business. Based on the review of literatures, we proposed that trust is the most important invisible platform for the e-business. In this article, we discuss the relationship between trust and three major components of e-business: (1) the trust for effective knowledge management (KM) within an organization; (2) the trust between organization and customer for effective customer relationship management (CRM); and (3) the trust between organizations for supply chain management (SCM)
