The issues addressed in the article are of particular relevance due to the necessity to provide research background for creating the system of psychological and pedagogical support for the professional development of teachers in the conditions of permanent changes in the system of education. The aim of the article is to describe specific interrelations between the reflection and the parameters of the teacher's axiological sphere (in particular, life-purpose orientations). The following research methods were used: theoretical analysis of psycholog-ical and educational literature, phenomenological method, questionnaires, and methods of mathematical and statistical data processing (descriptive statistics, comparative analysis (the Mann-Whitney U test). The results of the theoretical and empirical research provide ade-quate grounds for the conclusion that there is a definite interrelation between the parameters of reflection and the parameters of life-purpose orientations. It is proved that in the conditions of a professional identity crisis the teachers experience a significant reduction in the levels of life-purpose orientations, which in turn leads to intensification of reflection processes. At the same time, the obtained results suggest that the teachers can successfully overcome their professional crisis in case of formation of the cognitive component of the biographical reflection, aimed at the analysis of actions and means of understanding and organizing their life events. Implications of the research results. The research results expand our understanding of the essence and emotional experience of the professional identity crisis. They can be used in the designing the process of psychological support for the activities and professional development of teachers. © 2018 Authors

Scientific relevance. Since fiscal and regulatory constraints substantially limit bioscreening in rodent models, a wider implementation of additional alternative models in preclinical studies of medicines is gaining momentum. These alternative models include aquatic vertebrates, such as zebrafish (Danio rerio).Aim. The study aimed to examine zebrafish models in terms of their performance in preclinical studies, their current uses, the challenges and opportunities in the field, and strategic directions for the development of preclinical testing in zebrafish.Discussion. Here, the authors summarise the key zebrafish tests that are currently used to assess a wide range of small molecules for their general and endocrine toxicity and effects on the survival of embryos and larvae. The review discusses the strengths and weaknesses of zebrafish models for preclinical testing of neurotropic agents. Additionally, the authors overview various methodological approaches to improving zebrafish toxicity testing. Overall, the use of zebrafish models is gradually becoming internationally established for laboratory testing of small molecules.Conclusions. A wider implementation of zebrafish models in pharmaceutical research and preclinical testing as an additional alternative to rodents, particularly in Russia, may significantly accelerate the development of novel medicinal products and foster a more comprehensive and adequate assessment of the biological risks associated with chemical substances

A Modern View of Anomalies in the Metal Groups of the Periodic System of D.I.Mendeleev

The article is devoted to the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements by D.I.Mendeleev. The fundamental law of nature, discovered by D.I.Mendeleev has anomalies and paradoxes associated with certain groups of metals. When studying the physical and chemical properties of complex metal compounds, many discrepancies can be found, namely, the location of elements in groups, which primarily relate to metals with different valences. By studying the approaches and methods for predicting the arrangement of chemical elements, it can be established that D.I.Mendeleev eliminated many differences for some metals during the formation of the Periodic system of chemical elements. D.I.Mendeleev developed a principle that excludes such errors when finding and discovering new elements. Analytical studies conducted by a Russian scientist helped to calculate the atomic masses and describe the properties of three elements not known at that time – «eka-boron», «eka-silicon», «eka-aluminum», the existence of which was proved and confirmed by subsequent discoveries of scandium, germanium, boron, and gallium. The paper provides a significant assessment of the forecasting of metals in various groups of the periodic system. Changes in the properties of some metals significantly influenced their location in the table of D.I.Mendeleev

External beam radiotherapy (EBR) remained for a long time the only method of treatment in children with recurrent and resistant retinoblastoma (RB). This method often leads to serious complications, including the occurrence of secondary malignant tumors. Currently, EBR is used as second-line (salvage) therapy. There is no data in the literature of using Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery (GKRS) in RB treatment.Purpose. To present 5-year experience of using GKRS in patients with RB.Material and methods. 16 children (17 eyes) were treated using GKRS in the period from 2015 to 2019. Mean patient age was 34.7 months (range, 12–114 months). The eyes were classified as group B (n=4), C (n=1), D (n=12). 3 children had the last eye. All patients received systemic and local chemotherapy, all types of local treatment modalities before using GKRS. Recurrent and resistant RB was the indication for GKRS. Marginal 50% mean dose was 22 Gу (range, 20–24 Gу), depending on tumour type and location. Radiation doses were evaluated accounting critical eye structures and the orbit bones.Results. Complete regression was achieved in 11 patients, partial in 2. Four patients underwent enucleation after GKRS. Indications for enucleation were retinoblastoma recurrence (n=2) and vitreous hemorrhage with total retinal detachment (n=2). 13 eyes were salvaged with no signs of keratopathy, uveitis or damage of orbital and surrounding tissues during mean follow-up 30.6 months (range, 7–60 months). Сomplications of different severity occurred in 13 patients, including vitreous hemorrhage in 6 patients, which was successfully treated both conservative (n=3) and using pars plana vitrectomy with simultaneous melphalan irrigation (n=3).Conclusion. The first experience of GKRS as an alternative to enucleation in patients with RB was proved to be reasonable and successful

Monetary industry combines several stages of metallurgical processes, which are continuously improved with the development of technology and the level of knowledge in the field of non-ferrous metals. The graduates of the Mining Institute, metallurgists of several generations, took part in establishment the Mint and development of technology to produce coins. Since January 24, 1718, when Peter the Great signed the decree «on production of small and large coins ...», the history of the monetary system of Russia and the coining of the first silver rubles began, which subsequently formed the basis of money relations. Twenty-four graduates of the mining and metallurgical departments of the Mining University worked as heads and münzmeister of the Mint. Silver rubles and work of Russian münzmeisters provided financial stability in Tsarist Russia from 1718 to 1917 and laid the foundation for further development of the monetary industry, taking into account new knowledge in the field of enrichment, preparation of polymetallic ores and their melting, and also stamping and processing of precious metals. This is the history of Russia and St. Petersburg, it combined the history of the Mining University, which this year will be 245 years old. It is of scientific interest to restore historical justice and update the methodological knowledge in the field of technology of monetary industry and metallurgical processes
