The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of noni (Morinda citrifolia) leaf shoot meal (NLSM) supplementation in the ration on the performances of kampong chickens as well as lipid, malondialdehyde (MDA), and fatty acid contents of meats. Two hundred and forty kampong chickens of 4 weeks old were reared until 12 weeks old. The diet treatments were R0: 0% NLSM (control), R1: 0.5% NLSM, R2: 1% NLSM, R3: 1.5% NLSM, R4: 2% NLSM, and R5: 2.5% NLSM. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used with six treatments and four replications with ten kampong chickens per replicate. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and if there were significant different, the data were further analyzed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The variables measured were performances of kampong chickens as well as lipid, MDA, and fatty acid contents of meat. The result showed that cholesterol and LDL contents of meat were significantly reduced by feeding NLSM. Performance and HDL contents of meat were not significantly different for all diet treatments. In addition, feeding kampong chickens with ration supplemented with NLSM could reduce MDA, saturated fatty acids and increase unsaturated fatty acids contents of meat. It is concluded that 2.5% NLSM can be used to improve meat quality of kampong chicken as functional meat

Metabolism Energy, Nitrogen Retention, and Mineral Retention of Phosphorus Calcium and Zinc of Sugarcane Juice in Broilers

Poultry feed derived from grains has an anti-nutrient phytic acid. Naturally, phytate forms a complex bond with some minerals (P, Zn, Fe, Mg, and Ca), protein, and amino acids. The mineral-phytate complex cannot be absorbed by the small intestine of non-ruminant livestock and will adversely affect the availability of minerals in the ration. One way to improve the efficiency of mineral and protein utilization from phytate is using phytase. Sugarcane juice containing nutrients and phytase is very potential as liquid supplement for broiler chickens as it can hydrolyze phytic acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the retention of nitrogen, metabolism energy, and retention of minerals (P, Ca and Zn) of sugarcane juice in broilers. The study was conducted for 7 days using metabolism cages for 28 broilers of 5 weeks old with 6 treatments of 4 replications, 4 for endogenous. The results showed that the administration of 2.5%/kg sugarcane juice in the ration as well as in 2.5%/liter sugarcane juice in drinking water could provide the same result as giving commercial phytase 250-500 FTU/kg on the retention of nitrogen, metabolizeable energy, and retention of minerals P, Ca and Zn

The research is an experiment conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Tangerang City, Banten, on the influence of learning and use of media interest in learning of mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of media use to learn and interest in learning mathematics learning outcomes. (Experiment In Student Class XI IPA SMAN 8 Tangerang City Year Lesson 2010/2011). The research method used is an experimental method using the technique "factor analysis" with "Two Way Anova", aided by SPSS version 15.0. The results of the analysis studies suggest that: 1) There is the media\u27s influence on the learning outcomes of mathematics learning, 2) There is interest in studying the influence on the results of studying mathematics, and 3) There is no interaction between the learning outcomes of students with interest in learning mathematics students

The research with the aim to know the effectivity (yield gap) of the application of Streptococcus agalactiae vaccine (pure whole cell) in prevention of streptococcosis on tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture has been carried out. The isolate of S.agalactiae – N14G was used as a master seed on vaccine production. Priming vaccination was administered by immersion method, and booster vaccination was taken th place two months latter by oral method. Challenge test at the lethal dose (LD50) against active bacteria was done at 14 days post booster vaccination, and observation was taken place for 14 days post artificial infection. The results of the research showed that the highest survival rate and relative percent survival (RPS) was found in group treated with Streptovac vaccine (S. agalactiae and A. hydrophila combination) (65.58% and 35.36%) followed by S. agalactiae vaccine (52.08% and 10.01%). The lowest survival rate was found in control group (46.75%). The result of confirmation effectivity of the vaccines by challenge test in the laboratory showed that the highest survival rate and relative percent survival (RPS) was found in S. agalactiae vaccine (50.00% dan 37.50%) followed by Streptovac vaccine (40.00% and 25.00%), and the lowest survival rate was found in control group (20.00%). Vaccination is better than the non vaccinated
