    Evidence for Isospin Violation and Measurement of CPCP Asymmetries in BK(892)γB \to K^{\ast}(892) \gamma

    We report the first evidence for isospin violation in BKγB \to K^* \gamma and the first measurement of difference of CPCP asymmetries between B+K+γB^+ \to K^{*+} \gamma and B0K0γB^0 \to K^{*0} \gamma. This analysis is based on the data sample containing 772×106BBˉ772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B} pairs that was collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+ee^+ e^- collider. We find evidence for the isospin violation with a significance of 3.1σ\sigma, Δ0+=(+6.2±1.5(stat.)±0.6(syst.)±1.2(f+/f00))\Delta_{0+} = (+6.2 \pm 1.5 ({\rm stat.}) \pm 0.6 ({\rm syst.}) \pm 1.2 (f_{+-}/f_{00}))\%, where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the fraction of B+BB^+B^- to B0Bˉ0B^0\bar{B}^0 production in Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) decays. The measured value is consistent with predictions of the SM. The result for the difference of CPCP asymmetries is ΔACP=(+2.4±2.8(stat.)±0.5(syst.))\Delta A_{CP} = (+2.4 \pm 2.8({\rm stat.}) \pm 0.5({\rm syst.}))\%, consistent with zero. The measured branching fractions and CPCP asymmetries for charged and neutral BB meson decays are the most precise to date.     Inclusive study of bottomonium production in association with an η\eta meson in e+ee^+e^- annihilations near Υ(5S)\Upsilon(5S)

    We study bottomonium production in association with an η\eta meson in e+ee^+e^- annihilations near the Υ(5S)\Upsilon(5S), at a center of mass energy of s=10.866\sqrt{s}=10.866\,GeV. The results are based on the 121.4121.4\,fb1^{-1} data sample collected by the Belle experiment at the asymmetric energy KEKB collider. Only the η\eta meson is reconstructed and the missing-mass spectrum of η\eta candidates is investigated. We observe the e+eηΥJ(1D)e^+e^-\to\eta\Upsilon_J(1D) process and find evidence for the e+eηΥ(2S)e^+e^-\to\eta\Upsilon(2S) process, while no significant signals of Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S), hb(1P)h_b(1P), nor hb(2P)h_b(2P) are found.     Precision measurement of charged pion and kaon differential cross sections in electron-positron annihilation at Q = 10.52 GeV

    Measurements of inclusive differential cross sections for charged pion and kaon production in electron-positron annihilation have been carried out at a center-of-mass energy of Q = 10.52 GeV. The measurements were performed with the Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider using a data sample containing 113 million e+e- -> qqbar events, where q={u,d,s,c}. We present charge-integrated differential cross sections d\sigma_h+-/dz for h+- = pi+-, K+- as a function of the relative hadron energy z = 2*E_h / sqrt{s} from 0.2 to 0.98. The combined statistical and systematic uncertainties for pi+- (K+-) are 4% (4%) at z ~ 0.6 and 15% (24%) at z ~ 0.9. The cross sections are the first measurements of the z-dependence of pion and kaon production for z > 0.7 as well as the first precision cross section measurements at a center-of-mass energy far below the Z^0 resonance used by the experiments at LEP and SLC.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures.     Measurement of branching fraction and direct CPCP asymmetry in charmless B+K+Kπ+B^+ \to K^+K^- \pi^+ decays at Belle

    We report a study of the charmless hadronic decay of the charged BB meson to the three-body final state K+Kπ+K^+ K^- \pi^+. The results are based on a data sample that contains 772×106772\times10^6 BBˉB \bar{B} pairs collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+ e^- collider. The measured inclusive branching fraction and the direct CPCP asymmetry are (5.38±0.40±0.35)×106(5.38\pm0.40\pm0.35)\times 10^{-6} and 0.170±0.073±0.017-0.170\pm0.073\pm0.017, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The K+KK^{+}K^{-} invariant mass distribution of the signal candidates shows an excess in the region below 1.51.5 GeV/c2c^2, which is consistent with the previous studies from BaBar and LHCb. In addition, strong evidence of a large direct CPCP asymmetry is found in the K+KK^{+}K^{-} low-invariant-mass region.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure

    Search for the 00^{--} Glueball in Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) decays

    We report the first search for the JPC=0J^{PC}=0^{--} glueball in Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) decays with data samples of (102±2)(102\pm2) million and (158±4)(158\pm4) million events, respectively, collected with the Belle detector. No significant signals are observed in any of the proposed production modes, and the 90\% credibility level upper limits on their branching fractions in Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) decays are obtained. The inclusive branching fractions of the Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) and Υ(2S)\Upsilon(2S) decays into final states with a χc1\chi_{c1} are measured to be \BR(\Upsilon(1S)\to \chi_{c1}+ anything) = (1.90\pm 0.43(stat.)\pm 0.14(syst.))\times 10^{-4} with an improved precision over prior measurements and \BR(\Upsilon(2S)\to \chi_{c1}+ anything) = (2.24\pm 0.44(stat.)\pm 0.20(syst.))\times 10^{-4} for the first time.Comment: 19 pages, 17 figures, Fig.10b was polished, but all the results unchanged.     Measurement of the Branching Fraction of the Decay B+π+π+ν\boldsymbol{B^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\ell^{+}\nu_\ell} in Fully Reconstructed Events at Belle

    We present an analysis of the exclusive B+π+π+νB^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\ell^{+}\nu_{\ell} decay, where \ell represents an electron or a muon, with the assumption of charge-conjugation symmetry and lepton universality. The analysis uses the full Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) data sample collected by the Belle detector, corresponding to 711 fb1^{-1} of integrated luminosity. We select the events by fully reconstructing one BB meson in hadronic decay modes, subsequently determining the properties of the other BB meson. We extract the signal yields using a binned maximum-likelihood fit to the missing-mass squared distribution in bins of the invariant mass of the two pions or the momentum transfer squared. We measure a total branching fraction of B(B+π+π+ν)=[22.71.6+1.9(stat)±3.5(syst)]×105{{\cal B}(B^{+}\to \pi^{+}\pi^{-}\ell^{+}\nu_{\ell})= [22.7 ^{+1.9}_{-1.6} (\mathrm{stat}) \pm 3.5(\mathrm{syst}) ]\times 10^{-5}}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.     Observation of a new charged charmoniumlike state in B -> J/psi K pi decays

    We present the results of an amplitude analysis of anti-B0 -> J/psi K- pi+ decays. A new charged charmoniumlike state Zc(4200)+ decaying to J/psi pi+ is observed with a significance of 6.2 sigma. The mass and width of the Zc(4200)+ are 4196 +31-29 +17-13 MeV/c^2 and 370 +70-70 +70-132 MeV, respectively; the preferred assignment of the quantum numbers is J^P = 1^+. In addition, we find evidence for Zc(4430)+ -> J/psi pi+. The analysis is based on a 711 fb^-1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider KEKB.Comment: 14 pages, 13 figure

    Study of η\eta and dipion transitions in Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) decays to lower bottomonia

    We study hadronic transitions between bottomonium states using 496 fb1^{-1} data collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+ee^{+}e^{-} collider. We measure: B(Υ(4S)π+πΥ(1S))=(8.2±0.5(stat.)±0.4(syst.))×105{\cal B}(\Upsilon(4S)\to\pi^+\pi^-\Upsilon(1S))=(8.2\pm 0.5 {\rm(stat.)} \pm 0.4 {\rm(syst.)})\times10^{-5}, B(Υ(4S)π+πΥ(2S))=(7.9±1.0(stat.)±0.4(syst.))×105{\cal B}(\Upsilon(4S)\to\pi^+\pi^-\Upsilon(2S))=(7.9\pm 1.0 {\rm(stat.)} \pm 0.4 {\rm(syst.)})\times10^{-5}, and B(Υ(4S)ηΥ(1S))=(1.70±0.23(stat.)±0.08(syst.))×104{\cal B}(\Upsilon(4S)\to\eta\Upsilon(1S))=(1.70\pm 0.23 {\rm(stat.)} \pm 0.08 {\rm(syst.)})\times10^{-4}. We measure the ratio of branching fractions R=B(Υ(4S)ηΥ(1S))/B(Υ(4S)π+πΥ(1S))=2.07±0.30(stat.)±0.11(syst.){\cal R} = {\cal B}(\Upsilon(4S)\to\eta\Upsilon(1S))/{\cal B}(\Upsilon(4S)\to\pi^+\pi^-\Upsilon(1S)) = 2.07\pm 0.30 {\rm(stat.)} \pm 0.11 {\rm(syst.)}. We search for the decay Υ(13D1,2)ηΥ(1S)\Upsilon(1^3D_{1,2})\to\eta\Upsilon(1S), but do not find significant evidence for such a transition. We also measure the initial state radiation production cross sections of the Υ(2S,3S)\Upsilon(2S,3S) resonances and we find values compatible with the expected ones. Finally, the analysis of the Υ(4S)π+πΥ(1S)\Upsilon(4S)\to\pi^+\pi^-\Upsilon(1S) events shows indications for a resonant contribution due to the f0(980)f_0(980) meson.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, 6 tables.
