Evolution of the Permian family Spirolegoceratidae (Goniatitida, Ammonoidea)

    Get PDF
The evolution of the Permian ammonoid family Spirolegoceratidae is discussed and a new phylogenetic reconstruction is proposed based on new data. Two subfamilies are recognized within the family Spirolegoceratidae: Spirolegoceratinae Nassichuk and Sverdrupitinae subfam. nov. A new genus, Archboldiceras, is proposed to accommodate the Australian species Uraloceras lobulatum and U. whitehousei. Species of the genus Sverdrupites Nassichuk, 1970 are described based on new material from the Volga-Urals Region. The new species S. bogoslovskayae from the Gerkinskaya Formation of Novaya Zemlya previously identified by M.F. Bogoslovskaya as S. amundseni is described. Ā© Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. 2007

    Get PDF
The article is focused on the creation of common innovative infrastructure of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) countries, including BRICS Development Bank, Networked University of BRICS, BRICS Scientific-technological and innovative Framework (BRICS STI Framework) and other institutions. For almost all member countries of the BRICS have developed programs and strategies aimed at stimulation of innovative development. BRICS countries seek to improve the economic system by its own innovative developments and reducing dependence on foreign technology, strive to achieve breakthrough growth in a short period of time, especially in such sectors as information, bio- and nanotechnologies, pharmaceutical region, nuclear and hydrogen energy, and space exploration. Several ways of development of the common innovative infrastructure of BRICS countries are suggested

Electrodeposition of Silicon from Molten KCl-K2SiF6for Lithium-Ion Batteries

In this paper we report characteristics and electrochemical properties of silicon fibers used as lithium-ion battery anode. All samples were synthesized by potentiostatic electrodeposition from molten KCl K2SiF6. From molten KCl CsCl K2SiF6 deposition was carried out in galvanostatic mode. Despite the synthesis in inert atmosphere and absence of oxygen containing compounds in the melt resulting silicon after washing contains at least 15 at% oxygen. Silicon fibers synthesized at ?250 mV (vs Si) were the thinnest with diameter as small as 100 nm; average fiber length increased with increasing overvoltage. Addition of CsCl to the melt results in decrease of the average fibers diameter. Silicon fibers synthesized at ?250 mV (vs Si) in KCl K2SiF6 melt showed the best cycling performance with capacity of 1030 mAh g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 discharge current and capacity of 715 mAh g?1 after 10 cycles. Lithium diffusion coefficients calculated from galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT) are common for silicon-based anode. The highest initial diffusion coefficient value of 6.68 10?11 cm2 s?1 was achieved for silicon synthesized from melt with addition of CsCl. Low capacity and rapid capacity fading for all samples can be caused by high silicon dioxide content, further treatment of synthesized silicon is necessary to achieve higher performance. Charged Particles Evaporation in the Stopped Pion Absorption Reactions

    Get PDF
In the present work we have analyzed evaporation spectra and yields of p,d,t formed in the reaction of stopped pion absorption. It is shown that the values of equilibrium temperature obtained through the usage of proposed model are in agreement with the values obtained in various other experiments. We also discuss the A-dependences of the evaporation yields and consider possible contributions of the ā€œindirectā€ evaporation processes

New data on the composition and evolution of the Permian superfamily popanocerataceae (Ammonoidea)

    Get PDF
The evolution of the superfamily Popanocerataceae is studied. The nominotypical family Popanoceratidae includes two subfamilies (Popanoceratinae and Pamiropopanoceratinae). The study of the most recent finds of Roadian ammonoids allowed the establishment of a new stage of active morphogenesis in the family Mongoloceratidae, which includes the new genus Biarmiceras, combining characters connecting the two families of the Popanocerataceae. Five species are described: Biarmiceras tumarense (Ruzhencev), B. subtumarense (Andrianov), B. esaulovae sp. nov., B. kremeshkense sp. nov., and B. barskovi sp. nov. from the Kungurian-Roadian of northeastern Russia and the Kazanian of the Volga-Urals Region. Electrochemical Synthesis of Nano-sized Silicon from KCIā€“K2SiF6 Melts for Powerful Lithium-Ion Batteries

Currently, silicon and silicon-based composite materials are widely used in microelectronics and solar energy devices. At the same time, silicon in the form of nanoscale fibers and various particles morphology is required for lithium-ion batteries with increased capacity. In this work, we studied the electrolytic production of nanosized silicon from low-fluoride KClā€“K2SiF6 and KClā€“K2SiF6ā€“SiO2 melts. The effect of SiO2 addition on the morphology and composition of electrolytic silicon deposits was studied under the conditions of potentiostatic electrolysis (cathode overvoltage of 0.1, 0.15, and 0.25 V vs. the potential of a quasi-reference electrode). The obtained silicon deposits were separated from the electrolyte residues, analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and spectral analysis, and then used to fabricate a composite Si/C anode for a lithium-ion battery. The energy characteristics of the manufactured anode half-cells were measured by the galvanostatic cycling method. Cycling revealed better capacity retention and higher coulombic efficiency of the Si/C composite based on silicon synthesized from KClā€“K2SiF6ā€“SiO2 melt. After 15 cycles at 200 mAĀ·gāˆ’1, material obtained at 0.15 V overvoltage demonstrates capacity of 850 mAhĀ·gāˆ’1 . Ā© 2021 by the authors.
