    Using of traditional medicine is growing rapidly at this time. Eleutherine americana Merr. is one ofkind plants that potentially can be traditional medicine. This research is proposed to find out theproper plant spacing and addition of rice straw compost of Eleutherine americana. This researchwas conducted at Jalan Pasar 1 Tanjung Sari, Medan with altitude ± 25 m above sea level from Mayto September 2013, using factorial randomized block design with two factors. The factors werevarious plant spacing (20x15, 15x10, 10x15 cm) and addition of rice straw compost (0; 0,5; 1kg/plot or 0, 10, 20 ton/ha) used three replications. Data were analyzed with ANOVA and continuedwith Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Parameters were observed sprouting age (day), heightof plant (cm), number of bulb per sample and fresh bulb weight per sample (gram). The resultsshowed that the plant spacing effected significantly on sproutig age, height of plant except 9-12weeks after planting, and the number of bulb per sample. Addition of rice straw compost notsignificantly on any parameters. The interaction of two factors effected significantly on height ofplant 4 and 5 weeks after planting

Result of this research show reciprocal teaching learning implementation can improve understanding accounting subject on the topic transaction journal cooperative accounting.     Pengaruh Perendaman Asam Sulfat (H2SO4) Terhadap Viabilitas Benih Delima (Punica Granatum L.)

    Pomegranate seed requires dormancy breaking treatment to encourage germination. One of dormancy breaking treatments that can be done is soaking on sulphuric acid (H2SO4). This study aimed to determine the effect of concentration and duration of soaking sulphuric acid (H2SO4) on the viability of pomegranate seeds. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Technology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatra Utara, Medan with a height of ± 25 meters above sea level, in April 2015, using a completely randomized design with 10 degree factor dormancy breaking treatments that seed soaking treatment with H2SO4 (25%, 50%, 75%) with duration of soaking (10 minutes, 15 minutes, and 20 minutes). Parameters measured were tetrazolium test (%), germination rate (day), normal seedling (%), abnormal seedling (%), seed that has not grown (%), vigor index, fresh weight seedling (g), dry weight seedling (g). The results showed that seed soaking treatment with 75% H2SO4 for 10 minutes increased the percentage of germination rate (day), normal seedling (%),vigor index, fresh weight seedling (g), dry weight seedling (g), but not to tetrazolium test (%)

    The objective of this experiment is to determine the respons in growth and yield of watermelon(Citrullus vulgaris Schard.) to Gibberellins and TSP fertilizer. This experiment was conducted atland of Pasar I Street No. 89, Tanjung Sari, Medan with the level approximately ± 25 inabove sea level, starting from May to December 2013 using factorial randomized block design withtwo factor, i.e. gibberellin (0, 100, 200 and 300 ppm) and TSP fertilizer (60, 80and 100 g/plant). Parameter observed were plant height, days to flowering, weight of fruit andnumber of seed. The result showed that gibberellin concentration affect significantly to the numberof seed and weight of fruit and giving up to 200 ppm gibberellin treatment on fertilizer TSP 80g/plant significantly speed up the age of harvesting

    Low bulb supply of bawang sabrang be trouble in propagation. For that purpuse bulbs divisionaimed to decreasing bulb needed and the right comparing of planting media can increase growthand yield of bawang sabrang. This research was conducted in experimental field at Jl. Pembangunanin April- July 2013, used randomized block design with two factor etc bulb division (no division, 2part division, 4 part division) and comparing planting media (topsoil, topsoil+compost 1:1, 2:1,3:1). Parameter observed was germination time, plant height, number of leaves, number of bulbs persample, fresh bulb weight per sample and fresh bulb weight per plot.The result of this researhshowed that bulb division significantly decreased germination time, plant height, number of bulbsper sample, fresh bulb weight per sample and fresh bulb weight per plot.Comparing of plantingmedia significantly effect number of leaves, number of bulbs per sample, fresh bulb weight persample and fresh bulb weight per plot. Interaction between bulb division and comparing plantingmedia significantly number of leaves, number of bulbs per sample, fresh bulb weight per sampleand fresh bulb weight per plot. The best result showed in no division and comparing planting media1:1 and 2:1

    Penggunaan Prebiotik Inulin untuk Pertumbuhan Kelinci Lepas Sapih

    Inulin atau Fructo Oligsakarida adalah serat dapat larut yang diperoleh dari tumbuhan dan dapat berfungsi sebagai prebiotik. Percobaan permulaan dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penggunaan prebiotik inulin terhadap kinerja kelinci lepas sapih. Sebanyak 36 ekor kelinci lepas sapih. Ternak dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol, 0,25; 0,5; 1 dan 2 % inulin dengan 3 ulangan@ 3 ekor per kandang. Pengamatan pertumbuhan yaitu pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi dan efisiensi pakan serta kematian diamati selama 6 minggu. Hasil menunjukan penggunaan inulin sampai 2 % tidak mempengaruhi kinerja pertumbuhan. Kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan inulin sebagai probiotik sebanyak 2% tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada kinerja pertumbuhan kelinci lepas sapih

    ABSTRACT: Dry matter and protein digestibililies of fermented coconut meal (FCM) using AspergrIlus nige⢠NRRL 337 were evaluated using in vitro method. The FCM was prepared through aerobic fermentation process continual with anaerobic enzymatic process. Both fermentation and enzymatic process have increased in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) and in vitro corrected protein digestibility (1VCPD) of coconut meal. The fermentation process has increased IVCPD inore effective than that of enzymatic process, whereas the enzymatic process has increased IVDMD more elective. The increase of digestibilities is correlated with the decrease of neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and the increase of coneeted protein content (CPC), The highest IVDMD and IVCPD of FCM were resulted front the fermentation of coconut meal added with minerals\u27 (NI14)2S0,4, urea, Nal I2PO4, MgSO4 and KCII itiid enzymatic process at 50°C The increase of IVDMD and 1VCPD and CPC were 26,5, (1(1.7 and 15(1% respectively, whereas the decrease of NDF was 46.8%.     Teaching Social Sciences Through Ethnophotography

    Curriculum 2013 requires teachers to be more creative in compiling teaching materials which are innovative, varied, exciting, contextual, and in accordance with learners\u27 needs to achieve learning objectives. This research aims at developing IPS materials for VII graders of Junior High School (SMP) based on ethnophotography. This study used Research and Development design (R & D). The results were analyzed by qualitative analysis technique. The results show that most social studies (IPS) teachers have not yet developed the IPS materials for VII graders of SMP which is relevant to the environmental conditions. The ethnophotography was used to determine the development of IPS materials by photographing/taking pictures of each regional potential to be used as supporting material in IPS materials. Through ethnophotography, the students would be more interested and easier to learn the material, and at the same time, they learn a variety of region\u27s potential. In conclusion, the IPS material based on ethnophotography can be used as one of the ways to develop teaching materials to get more effective and efficient learning because students can easily understand the material through the photographs displayed in the teaching materials because the photographs show a variety of things around it

    Penambahan Enzim dalam Pakan dengan Kepadatan Gizi yang Berbeda terhadap Performa ayam KUB Masa Starter

    Pemberian pakan dengan kandungan gizi dan cara yang tepat merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan. Suatu penelitian dilakukan untuk menentukan kebutuhan gizi ayam KUB masa starter dengan membuat pakan dengan kepadatan gizi yang berbeda yang ditambahkan enzim. Empat jenis ransum yang terdiri dari faktorial 2 jenis ransum (kepadatan gizi Tinggi dan Rendah) dengan 2 level enzim BS4 (0 dan 30 Unit/kg) disusun sebagai perlakuan. Setiap jenis ransum diberikan ke 100 ekor ayam (10 ulangan @ 10 ekor) mulai umur 1 h hingga 28 h. Performa (bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, FCR dan daya hidup) ayam diamati untuk mengetahui respon yang optimum.
