A kutatás keretében komplex tesztbattériát alkalmaztunk, amely a kommunikációs viselkedést személyiség- megküzdési, kötődési, valamint párkapcsolatműködési jegyekkel együttesen mérte. Vizsgálati mintánkba 300 sine morbo pár, valamint 70 munkacsoport került. A kommunikációs viselkedés szoros kapcsolatban állt a személyiségjegyekkel, ezt az összefüggést befolyásolta a kapcsolati elégedettség is. A párdinamikai viszonyokat meghatározta a két partner kötődése, mind tudatos, mind pedig tudattelőttes személyiségrétegek tekintetében. A párkapcsolati elégedettséget és a megküzdési képességet számottevően befolyásolták a spirituális orientáció hatásai. A munkahelyi kommunikációt szintén alakitotta a személyiség, ennél azonban lényegesebb hatással volt a munkahelyen betöltött szerep. Megkezdődött a Közös Rorschach Vizsgálat terápiás alkalmazása. | Complex test battery was administered to 300 couples, that included measures of interpersonal communication (Consensus Rorschach), measures of attachment, coping, as well as family functioning and family satisfaction. Communicative behavior was closely related to personality characteristics, however effects were moderated by family satisfaction. Couple dynamics were also influenced by attachment style, as if both partners were unsecurely attached, interpersonal communication was characterized by intense rivalry, hostility and tension. Relationship satisfaction and coping both were influenced by spiritual orientation, with most significant when both partners were strongly committed to spiritual practice. Interpersonal communication at work was influenced by personality and role requirements both, with emphasis on the latter. Consensus Rorschach has been applied with great efficancy as a diagnostic method in family therapy setting

| The research team has re-standardized the Consensus Rorschach procedure, using samples of well-functioning couples, work teams and disordered couples (divorcing couples, families with a family member with eating disorders, suicidal history, schizophrenia, drug addiction). The interactometric code system has also been renewed and a new coding system based on decision theory has been validated. The Consensus Rorschach method has been repeatedly found to be appropriate for study of interaction dynamics in couples, families and groups

Rapid detection of Listeria monocytogenes in raw milk and soft cheese by a redox potential measurement based method combined with real-time PCR

The incidence of outbreaks of foodborne listeriosis has indicated the need for a reliable and rapid detection of the microbe in different foodstuffs. A method combining redox potential measurement and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was developed to detect Listeria monocytogenes in artificially contaminated raw milk and soft cheese. Food samples of 25 g or 25 ml were homogenised in 225 ml of Listeria Enrichment Broth (LEB) with Oxford supplement, and the redox potential measurement technique was applied. For Listeria species the measuring time was maximum 34 h. The absence of L. monocytogenes could reliably be proven by the redox potential measurement method, but Listeria innocua and Bacillus subtilis could not be differentiated from L. monocytogenes on the basis of the redox curves. The presence of L. monocytogenes had to be confirmed by real-time PCR. The combination of these two methods proved to detect < 10 cfu/g of L. monocytogenes in a cost- and time-effective manner. This method can potentially be used as an alternative to the standard nutrient method for the rapid detection of L. monocytogenes in food

Long-term cerebral thromboembolic complications of transapical endocardial resynchronization therapy

Purpose: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an established therapeutic option in selected heart failure patients (pts). However, the transvenous left ventricular (LV) lead implantation remains ineffectual in a considerable number of pts. Transapical LV (TALV) lead implantation is an alternative minimally invasive, surgical, endocardial implantation technique. The aim of the present prospective study is to determine the long-term outcome, including the cerebral thromboembolic complications, of pts

BACKGROUND: High irrigation rates during radiofrequency (RF) ablation may cause fluid overload and limit lesion size. This in vivo animal study assessed the safety and efficacy of RF ablation at low irrigation rates using a novel 12-hole gold catheter. METHODS: A total of 103 lesions, created on the thigh of five mongrel dogs, were analyzed. Lesions were created using a 12-hole irrigated gold-tip (Au) and a six-hole irrigated platinum-iridium (PtIr) catheter (both 7F/3.5-mm electrode; BIOTRONIK SE & CO, KG, Berlin, Germany) in parallel and perpendicular orientation. RF current was delivered for 60 seconds at 30 W using 8 mL/min and 15 mL/min irrigation. Electrode temperature, steam pops, lesion dimensions, and coagulum formation were recorded. RESULTS: Electrode temperatures were lower for Au compared to PtIr in parallel (8 mL/min: 38.1 +/- 1.7 degrees C vs 48.0 +/- 4.8 degrees C, P < 0.0001; 15 mL/min: 36.0 +/- 1.5 degrees C vs 46.9 +/- 5.4 degrees C, P < 0.0001) and perpendicular position (15 mL/min: 35.5 +/- 1.2 degrees C vs 38.4 +/- 2.5 degrees C, P = 0.003). The number of steam pops between Au and PtIr was comparable for parallel (8 mL/min: 14% vs 27%, P = 0.65; 15 mL/min: 14% vs 43%, P = 0.21) and perpendicular orientation (8 mL/min: 25% vs 17%, P = 1.00; 15 mL/min: 18% vs 0%, P = 0.48). Au created larger volumes than PtIr at 8 mL/min irrigation (861 +/- 251 mm3 vs 504 +/- 212 mm3 , P = 0.004); however, for 15 mL/min, volumes were comparable (624 +/- 269 mm3 vs 768 +/- 466 mm3 , P = 0.46). No coagulum formation was observed for any of the catheters on the surface and catheter tip. CONCLUSION: RF ablation at low flow rate using a novel 12-hole irrigation Au catheter is safe and results in larger lesions than with a PtIr electrode

Rapid in-house detection method of Campylobacter spp. from food by redox potential monitoring combined with real-time PCR

The rapid detection of Campylobacter spp. is of utmost importance for the reduction of infections in humans by contaminated food products. The standard culturing method (ISO 10272-1:2006) involves a high time and labour demand. In this paper, we present a method that reduces the detection time of Campylobacter spp. to or below one third as compared to the ISO method, at a reduced cost per test. We used redox potential change of enrichment cultures (Bolton broth with Bolton selective supplement) for reliably selecting Campylobacter-contaminated raw milk and broiler meat samples. Identification of Campylobacter spp. in the contaminated samples was done by real-time PCR method. Culturing time to conclusive redox monitoring varied between 6 and 24 h for positive samples, depending on the contamination rate, in contrast to 136 h with the standard culturing process. However, now the Campylobacter-negative majority of food samples will not need to be tested by real-time PCR because redox potential monitoring can identify them in the selective enrichment phase. This method could be potentially used as a faster alternative to the current standard ISO 10272-1:2006, for nonregulatory monitoring purposes
