Positive experiences in the relations between the teachers and parents of children in the early school age.
Poprawne stosunki rodziców z nauczycielami są jednym z podstawowych warunków prawidłowej współpracy szkoły i rodziny w procesie kształcenia i wychowania dzieci. Z tych i innych powodów postanowiłam zbadać i porównać relacje pomiędzy nauczycielami i rodzicami. Rodzice i nauczyciele dostrzegają wiele swoich pozytywnych cech. Good relations between parents and teachers are one of the basic conditions for proper functioning of the school and family. These relationships affect a large extent on how parents and teachers will fulfill their tasks in the educational process. It is well known, that interaction (not only at school but also in any other environment) may be different. For these and other reasons, I decided to look into the current relations between teachers and parents. The research took place in Nowy Sącz. I conducted the research among parents and educators of children in grades I, II and III of primary schools by means of questionnaires. This technique helped me find an answer to my questions, related mainly to the positive experiences gained with joint meetings between the teachers and the parents. The purpose of this research is find an answer for the question: what are the positive experiences of appearing in the relations between the parents and the teachers of children in the early school age? This dissertation show the answers to the questions: how do the parents evaluate teachers and their educational work?; how do the parents assess teacher’s contribution to the upbringing of children?; how do the parents act in support of the school?. I am also interested what factors influence by the development of positive relations between the parents and teachers, and in what circumstances the parents are open to cooperation with teacher and vice versa. This thesis consists of an introduction and three chapters. Each chapter is as follows:In the first chapter is a theory that appears in the available literature over cooperation, how it looks like and how it should looks, what are the objectives of maintaining good relations between teachers and parents, what are the rules for proper cooperation. I present the influence of parental contact with teacher to develop the child. In this part of a dissertation is also a description of the parent-teacher relations inferred from previous studies conducted by other researchers, including well-known educated persons, such as Professor Maria Mendel, Wiktor Żłobicki, Aleksander Nalaskowski or Maria Talar. The next chapter is contained methodology of research carried out by me. I accentuated the object and purpose of research, chief as well as specific research problems, hypotheses and how to conduct research, methods, tools and techniques which I used. I also presented the characteristics of studies and study groups. The last chapter presents an analysis and conclusions from my research. In the first section included are tables with the presentation and description of the responses of parents and teachers to the questions in the questionnaires. The second section provides conclusions from my research and to compare my results with those of other researchers. It is the aimed at preventing any stereotypes that have taken place so far.At the end of this thesis is a summary and bibliography, which was helpful to me in writing this dissertation, and a list of tables and appendices
The intergenerational transmission of values within families
The Master’s thesis entitled “The Intergenerational Transmission of Values within Families”. The dissertation consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the analysis of prominent value concepts as well as to general characteristics of the role and functions of the value system in the context of interpersonal relationships between children and parents and children and grandparents. The results of the research on the intergenerational transmission of values were also discussed. The second chapter describes a concept of the author’s own research containing aims, research problems and research tools project. The third chapter presents an analysis and interpretation of research data as well as conclusions. The final results confirm the theses established by other scientists about a high degree of similarity between children’s and grandparents’ value system whereas in comparison to children’s and their parents’ value system slight differences are observed. The paper contains references, a list of tables and charts as well as annexes
Z dziejów angielskich defences: obrona konieczna i stan wyższej konieczności
Nanoemulsion Gel Formulation Optimization for Burn Wounds: Analysis of Rheological and Sensory Properties
Background: Despite the variety of treatment methods for wounds and scars after burns, there are still few effective preparations that can be used in a non-invasive therapy. Recent years have seen significant development of nanomedicine and nanotechnology in the treatment of infection in burn wounds. Proposal: The aim of this work was to develop a formula of a nanoemulsion gel for skin regeneration after burns, and to compare its rheological and sensory properties, as well as the effectiveness of post-burn skin regeneration with preparations available on the market. Methods: At the first stage of studies the composition and parameters of the preparation of sea buckthorn oil-based O/W (oil-in-water) nanoemulsion containing hyaluronic acid and aloe vera gel, as the active ingredients were optimized. Then, the nanoemulsion was added to the gel matrix composed of carbomer (1%) and water which resulted in receiving nanoemulgel. The physicochemical parameters of the obtained samples were characterized by means of dynamic light scattering method and scanning electron microscope. Rheological, sensory and influence on skin condition analysis was conducted for selected market products and developed nanoemulgel. Results: Nanoemulsion gel (d = 211 ± 1.4 nm, polydispersity index (PDI) = 0.205 ± 0.01) was characterized by semi-solid, non-sticky consistency, porous structure, law viscosity, good “primary” and “secondary” skin feelings and pleasant sensorical properties. It improves the condition of burned skin by creating a protective layer on the skin and increasing the hydration level. Conclusion: Due to the fact that the obtained nanoemulsion gel combines the advantages of an emulsion and a gel formulation, it can be a promising alternative to medical cosmetics available on the market, as a form of formulation used in skin care after burns
Who stole the sugar? Recurrent hypoglycemia in three women
This article presents 3 cases that highlight one of the factitious disorders named Munchausen Syndrome (MS). It is defined as intentional simulation or self-induction of disease symptoms to gain attention of others and to be perceived as an ill person. Early recognition of factitious disorders is a challenge for non-psychiatrists, as its clinical symptoms vary significantly among patients. In this paper we present three women with recurrent episodes of hypoglycemia, who were eventually diagnosed with MS. Our aims were to share the diagnostic clues that can suggest the presence of a factitious disorder, to highlight the analysis of patient’s medical history and to suggest the potential the ethical dilemmas involved in caring for such patients

The effects of intra-stomach obestatin administration on intestinal contractility in neonatal piglets fed milk formula.
A 23-amino acid peptide named obestatin is derived from the ghrelin gene. The aim of the experiment was to study the effects of enteral obestatin administration for a 6-day period on intestinal contractility in piglets fed milk formula. Pigs were treated with 0.9% NaCl (group C) or varying doses of obestatin: 2 μg/kg body weight (BW) (group O2), 10 μg/kg BW (O10) or 15 μg/kg BW (O15) every 8 hours via a stomach tube. Blood was sampled for assessment of obestatin concentration. Duodenal and middle jejunum whole-thickness preparations were studied in an organ bath for isometric recording under electric field stimulation (EFS) and increasing doses of acetylcholine (ACh), and in the presence of atropine and tetrodotoxin (TTX). Additionally, the measurement of intestinal muscularis layer and the immunodetection of Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptors (M1 and M2) were performed. In comparison to C animals, the obestatin concentration in blood plasma was significantly increased in groups O10 and O15. In both studied intestinal segments, significant increases in the frequency and amplitude of spontaneous contractions were observed in O15 and C groups. In the duodenum and middle jejunum significant differences in responsiveness to EFS (0.5, 5 and 50 Hz) were observed between the groups. The addition of 10-4 M ACh to the duodenum significantly increased the responsiveness in tissues. In contrast, in the middle jejunum a significant increase in the amplitude of contraction was observed after the addition of 10-9 and 10-6 M ACh (groups O15 and O10, respectively). Pretreatment with atropine and TTX resulted in a significant decrease in the responsiveness of the intestinal preparations from all groups, in both studied segments. The increased contractility was not dependent on the expression of muscarinic receptors. Results indicate the importance of enteral obestatin administration in the regulation of intestinal contractility in neonatal piglets
