Reversible Data Perturbation Techniques for Multi-level Privacy-preserving Data Publication
The amount of digital data generated in the Big Data age is increasingly rapidly. Privacy-preserving data publishing techniques based on differential privacy through data perturbation provide a safe release of datasets such that sensitive information present in the dataset cannot be inferred from the published data. Existing privacy-preserving data publishing solutions have focused on publishing a single snapshot of the data with the assumption that all users of the data share the same level of privilege and access the data with a fixed privacy level. Thus, such schemes do not directly support data release in cases when data users have different levels of access on the published data. While a straight-forward approach of releasing a separate snapshot of the data for each possible data access level can allow multi-level access, it can result in a higher storage cost requiring separate storage space for each instance of the published data. In this paper, we develop a set of reversible data perturbation techniques for large bipartite association graphs that use perturbation keys to control the sequential generation of multiple snapshots of the data to offer multi-level access based on privacy levels. The proposed schemes enable multi-level data privacy, allowing selective de-perturbation of the published data when suitable access credentials are provided. We evaluate the techniques through extensive experiments on a large real-world association graph dataset and our experiments show that the proposed techniques are efficient, scalable and effectively support multi-level data privacy on the published data
1985 Report of Agricultural Research, Southeast Kansas Branch Station
Through annual research reports, the Southeast Kansas Branch Experiment Station attempts to keep the area\u27s consumers and producers of agricultural products informed on the Station\u27s research accomplishments. In serving the area, we conduct research at fields located at Parsons, site of the headquarters; at Mound Valley, the original location of the Branch Station; and at Columbus, which has been in the Kansas State University research system for over 60 years. This report for 1984 covers five areas of research emphasis: Beef Cattle, Crops, Forages, Soil and Water Management, and Crop Varietal Development. We sincerely hope that it will be useful to area producers and consumers, industry cooperators, Extension personnel, other Branch Station and Main Station colleagues and others
Gastrointestinal ultrasonography of normal Standardbred neonates and frequency of asymptomatic intussusceptions.
BACKGROUND
Ultrasonographic appearance of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of equine neonates has not been completely described.
OBJECTIVES
To describe (1) sonographic characteristics of the GI segments in normal nonsedated equine neonates, (2) intra- and interobserver variation in wall thickness, and (3) the sonographic appearance of asymptomatic intussusceptions, and (4) to compare age and sonographic findings of foals with and without asymptomatic intussusceptions.
ANIMALS
Eighteen healthy Standardbred foals ≤5 days of age.
METHODS
Prospective, cross-sectional blinded study. Gastrointestinal sonograms were performed stall-side. Intraobserver variability in wall thickness measurements was determined by calculating the coefficient of variation (CV). The Bland-Altman method was used to assess interobserver bias. Student's t-test and Fisher's exact test were used to test the association among presence of intussusceptions, age, and selected sonographic findings.
RESULTS
The reference ranges (95% predictive interval) for wall thickness were 1.6-3.6 mm for the stomach, 1.9-3.2 mm for the duodenum, 1.9-3.1 mm for the jejunum, 1.3-2.2 mm for the colon, and 0.8-2.7 mm for the cecum. Intraobserver wall thickness CV ranged from 8 to 21% for the 2 observers for 5 gastrointestinal segments. The interobserver bias for wall thickness measurements was not significant except for the stomach (0.14 mm, P < .05) and duodenum (0.29 mm, P < .05). Diagnostic images of mural blood flow could not be obtained. Asymptomatic intussusceptions were found in 10/18 neonates. Associations between sonographic variables or age and the presence of intussusceptions were not found.
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE
Sonographic characteristics of the GI tract of normal Standardbred neonates can be useful in evaluating ill foals. Asymptomatic small intestinal intussusceptions occur in normal Standardbred neonates

Physical properties and efficiency of GaNP light emitting diodes
GaNP∕GaP
is promising for yellow-amber-red light emitting diodes (LEDs). In this study, pressure and temperature dependent electroluminescence and photocurrent measurements on bulk GaP∕GaN0.006P0.994∕GaP LED structures are presented. Below ∼110K, emission is observed from several localized nitrogen states. At room temperature, the band-edge energy increases weakly with pressure at a rate of +1.6meV∕kbar, substantially lower than the Γ band gap of GaP (+9.5meV∕kbar). Thus, despite the multiplicity of nitrogen levels, the band anticrossing model reasonably describes this system based on an average of the nitrogen states. Furthermore, carrier leakage into the X
minima of GaP reduces the efficiency in GaNP-LEDs with increasing pressure
The Pan-STARRS Moving Object Processing System
We describe the Pan-STARRS Moving Object Processing System (MOPS), a modern
software package that produces automatic asteroid discoveries and
identifications from catalogs of transient detections from next-generation
astronomical survey telescopes. MOPS achieves > 99.5% efficiency in producing
orbits from a synthetic but realistic population of asteroids whose
measurements were simulated for a Pan-STARRS4-class telescope. Additionally,
using a non-physical grid population, we demonstrate that MOPS can detect
populations of currently unknown objects such as interstellar asteroids.
MOPS has been adapted successfully to the prototype Pan-STARRS1 telescope
despite differences in expected false detection rates, fill-factor loss and
relatively sparse observing cadence compared to a hypothetical Pan-STARRS4
telescope and survey. MOPS remains >99.5% efficient at detecting objects on a
single night but drops to 80% efficiency at producing orbits for objects
detected on multiple nights. This loss is primarily due to configurable MOPS
processing limits that are not yet tuned for the Pan-STARRS1 mission.
The core MOPS software package is the product of more than 15 person-years of
software development and incorporates countless additional years of effort in
third-party software to perform lower-level functions such as spatial searching
or orbit determination. We describe the high-level design of MOPS and essential
subcomponents, the suitability of MOPS for other survey programs, and suggest a

Routes for breaching and protecting genetic privacy
We are entering the era of ubiquitous genetic information for research,
clinical care, and personal curiosity. Sharing these datasets is vital for
rapid progress in understanding the genetic basis of human diseases. However,
one growing concern is the ability to protect the genetic privacy of the data
originators. Here, we technically map threats to genetic privacy and discuss
potential mitigation strategies for privacy-preserving dissemination of genetic
