    Thoracic metastasis in advanced ovarian cancer: comparison between computed tomography and video-assisted thoracic surgery.

    OBJECTIVE: To determine which computed tomography (CT) imaging features predict pleural malignancy in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian carcinoma (EOC) using video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), pathology, and cytology findings as the reference standard. METHODS: This retrospective study included 44 patients with International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) stage III or IV primary or recurrent EOC who had chest CT ≤30 days before VATS. Two radiologists independently reviewed the CT studies and recorded the presence and size of pleural effusions and of ascites; pleural nodules, thickening, enhancement, subdiaphragmatic tumour deposits and supradiaphragmatic, mediastinal, hilar, and retroperitoneal adenopathy; and peritoneal seeding. VATS, pathology, and cytology findings constituted the reference standard. RESULTS: In 26/44 (59%) patients, pleural biopsies were malignant. Only the size of left-sided pleural effusion (reader 1: rho=-0.39, p=0.01; reader 2: rho=-0.37, p=0.01) and presence of ascites (reader 1: rho=-0.33, p=0.03; reader 2: rho=-0.35, p=0.03) were significantly associated with solid pleural metastasis. Pleural fluid cytology was malignant in 26/35 (74%) patients. Only the presence (p=0.03 for both readers) and size (reader 1: rho=0.34, p=0.04; reader 2: rho=0.33, p=0.06) of right-sided pleural effusion were associated with malignant pleural effusion. Interobserver agreement was substantial (kappa=0.78) for effusion size and moderate (kappa=0.46) for presence of solid pleural disease. No other CT features were associated with malignancy at biopsy or cytology. CONCLUSION: In patients with advanced EOC, ascites and left-sided pleural effusion size were associated with solid pleural metastasis, while the presence and size of right-sided effusion were associated with malignant pleural effusion. No other CT features evaluated were associated with pleural malignancy

    Исследование, представленное в статье, призвано внести вклад в решение важной проблемы социальной адаптации личности на этапах профессионального становления, развития и совершенствования. В связи с этим, перед современной системой профессионального образования возникает ряд вопросов, связанных, в первую очередь, с эффективностью работы в области взаимодействия всех субъектов профессионального образования. Развитие личностной осознанности – важная задача личностного совершенствования. Проблема развития осознанности – ключевой аспект развития Личности. Понятие «Осознание» как совокупность процесса и результата («осознанность») интеграции информационного потенциала, проявленное как целостная структура отдельных интеграционных потенциалов в индивидуальном свободном сознании.Цель работы заключается в разработке и апробации метода IAI (интроспективный анализ интерперсоны) жизнедеятельности человека, который является инновационным инструментом мониторинговых исследований профессионально-педагогических проблем и задач, а также отправной точкой для создания унифицированной системы развития осознанности с целью профилактики внутриличностных и межличностных конфликтов.Результаты исследования показали, что в процессе применения метода IAI (интроспективный анализ интерперсоны) повысился уровень понимания к педагогическим требованиям, проявились явные формы осознанного поведения. Взаимоотношения людей в процессе эксперимента строятся на основе осознанного восприятия личности партнера, с четким осознанием именно коммуникативной цели, полноценной ответственностью за коммуникативный процесс и твердым намерением решить поставленную коммуникативную задачу.The study presented in the article is intended to contribute to the solution of the important problem of social adaptation of a person at the stages of professional development and improvement. In this regard, a number of questions arise in front of the modern system of vocational education related to the effectiveness of work in the field of interaction of all subjects of vocational education. Development of personal mindfulness is an important task of personal development. The problem of development of mindfulness is a key aspect of personal development. The concept of “Mindfulness” as a set of process and result (“mindfulness”) of the integration of information potential, manifested as an integral structure of individual integration potentials in the individual free consciousness.The aim of the work is to develop and test the IAI method (introspective analysis of interpersons) of human life, which is an innovative tool for monitoring research of professional and pedagogical problems and tasks, as well as a starting point for creating a unified system for developing awareness to prevent intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts.The results of the study showed that in the process of applying the method of IAI (introspective analysis of interpersonal) the level of understanding of pedagogical requirements increased, manifested clear forms of conscious behavior. Relationships between people in the experiment are based on a conscious perception of the partner’s personality, with a clear understanding of the communicative purpose, full responsibility for the communicative process and a firm intention to solve the communicative tasks

    Following overseas examples, educational institutions in Russia are trying to interact with other organizations implementing practical competence approach. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that modern educational environment is constantly changing both due to the dynamics of everyday and professional conditions. Due to competence approach constant monitoring and new resources are required for the development of each subject in this educational environment. The goal of the work is to create means for open social and educational environment realization which allows achieving positive results for all participants in the project. In this article, the authors raise the issue of modern educational environment creation as a resource for each subject of the educational process development.The article attempts to improve students’, teachers’ and others participants’ interested in educational environment development interaction. We try to achieve a qualitatively new level of participants’ skills and competencies development in this process. For this, analysis of the essence and structure of educational process in a higher educational institution was carried out. After that, the authors propose, within the framework of a project implemented by Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University on the organization and development of the social and educational environment, to conduct special computer literacy courses for the elderly. The courses offered combine the activities of a large number of people who, working for a common result, achieve the development of individual qualities. The results obtained are the basis for further improvement of educational environment.Siguiendo ejemplos en el extranjero, las instituciones educativas en Rusia están tratando de interactuar con otras organizaciones implementando un enfoque de competencia práctica. La relevancia del tema radica en el hecho de que el entorno educativo moderno está cambiando constantemente debido a la dinámica de las condiciones cotidianas y profesionales. Debido al enfoque de competencia, el monitoreo constante y nuevos recursos son necesarios para el desarrollo de cada asignatura en este entorno educativo. El objetivo del trabajo es crear medios para la realización de un entorno social y educativo abierto que permita lograr resultados positivos para todos los participantes en el proyecto. En este artículo, los autores plantean el tema de la creación de un entorno educativo moderno como un recurso para cada tema del desarrollo del proceso educativo.El artículo intenta mejorar la interacción entre los estudiantes, los maestros y otros participantes interesados en el desarrollo del entorno educativo. Intentamos alcanzar un nivel cualitativamente nuevo de desarrollo de habilidades y competencias de los participantes en este proceso. Para ello, se realizó un análisis de la esencia y estructura del proceso educativo en una institución de educación superior. Posteriormente, los autores proponen, en el marco de un proyecto implementado por la Universidad Pedagógica Estatal Nizhny Novgorod sobre la organización y el desarrollo del entorno social y educativo, realizar cursos especiales de alfabetización informática para personas mayores.     Synthesis of Molecular Dodecanuclear Carbon-centered Rhenium Cluster Re12CS17 and its Conducting Properties

    The unique dodecanuclear cluster compound Re12CS17 was prepared and studied by X-ray, complex impedance method and density functional theory (DFT). The compound is amorphous, possesses semiconducting properties. Computer simulations showed that the Re and S atoms at the external borders of the neighboring molecules Re12CS17 can form sufficiently strong Re•••S intermolecular bonds, similar to the Mo•••S intermolecular bonds of cuboctahedron Mo6S8 molecules in the Chevrel phases.
