G-Matrix Equation in the Resonating-Group Method
The G-matrix equation is most straightforwardly formulated in the
resonating-group method if the quark-exchange kernel is directly used as the
driving term for the infinite sum of all the ladder diagrams. The inherent
energy-dependence involved in the exchange term of the normalization kernel
plays the essential role to define the off-shell T-matrix uniquely when the
complete Pauli-forbidden state exists. We analyze this using a simple solvable
model with no quark-quark interaction, and calculating the most general
T-matrix in the formulation developed by Noyes and Kowalski. This formulation
gives a certain condition for the existence of the solution in the
Lippmann-Schwinger resonating-group method. A new procedure to deal with the
corrections for the reduced masses and the internal-energy terms in the Lambda
N - Sigma N coupled-channel resonating-group equation is proposed.Comment: 21 pages 0 figures, submitted to Prog. Theor. Phy
ANALYTICITY OF THE STOKES SEMIGROUP IN BMO-TYPE SPACES
We consider the Stokes semigroup in a large class of domains including bounded domains, the half-space and exterior domains. We will prove that the Stokes semigroup is analytic in a certain type of solenoidal subspaces of BMO
TEM analysis of nanocrystalline SiC ceramics sintered by SPS using Al2O3–TiO2 additive
AbstractNanocrystalline SiC ceramics was fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) using Al2O3 and TiO2 additives with the composition of 5, 10 and 20mass% (Al2O3–TiO2). XRD analysis revealed formation of TiC phase. And also mullite phase with preferred orientation was detected in SiC with 20mass% addition. From TEM observation and EDS analysis, TiC, aluminosilicate glass and mullite crystal phases were identified. Segregation of titanium atoms in addition to aluminum and oxygen atoms was observed at intergranular glassy phase with the thickness of 1–2nm. The electrical conductivity was the same level as the Al2O3 single addition to SiC ceramics
Quadrupole moments in chiral material DyFe3(BO3)4 observed by resonant x-ray diffraction
By means of circularly polarized x-ray beam at Dy L3 and Fe K absorption
edges, the chiral structure of the electric quadrupole was investigated for a
single crystal of DyFe3(BO3)4 in which both Dy and Fe ions are arranged in
spiral manners. The integrated intensity of the resonant x- ray diffraction of
space-group forbidden reflections 004 and 005 is interpreted within the
electric dipole transitions from Dy 2p3 to 5d and Fe 1s to 4p, respectively. We
have confirmed that the 2 handedness of the crystal observed at Dy L3 and Fe K
edges is consistent with that observed at Dy M5 edge in the previous study. By
analyzing the azimuth scans of the diffracted intensity, the electronic
quadrupole moments of Dy 5d and Fe 4p are derived. The temperature profiles of
the integrated intensity of 004 at the Dy L3 and the Fe K edges are similar to
those of Dy-O and Fe-O bond lengths, while that at the Dy M5 edge does not. The
results indicate that the helix chiral orientations of quadrupole moments due
to Dy 5d and Fe 4p electrons are more strongly affected by the crystal fields
than Dy 4f
Seeded growth of iron oxide onto titanate nanowires
The combination of different inorganic structures enables the preparation of multifunctional hybrid materials. The control on the formation of low dimensional nano-objects with specific morphologies and sizes is also a determinant factor to define specific properties. In this aim, the influence of the basic medium on hydrothermally prepared titanate nanowires was studied. The presence of Na+ or K+ counter ions dramatically influenced the preparation of nanoparticles or nanowires of TiO2 and titanate. In a second time, hybrid materials were prepared by the impregnation of the titanate nanowires by a solution of iron chloride followed by the addition of NaOH to induce the formation of iron oxide onto titanate nanowires by the co-precipitation method
On the Stokes semigroup in some non-Helmholtz domains
This paper shows that Lp-Helmholtz decomposition is not necessary to establish the analyticity of the Stokes semigroup in C0; , the L 1 -closure of the space of all compactly supported smooth solenoidal vector fields. In fact, in a sector-like domain for which the Lp-Helmholtz decomposition does not hold, the analyticity of the Stokes semigroup in C0; is proved
