Factors affecting the quality of a product is one of them is the color and shape. Color and shape factor was used as a parameter the most attention in the selection of a product. Farmer level, the separation between the seed heads intact and damaged seeds have not done this led to lower prices nutmeg. Separation based on a whole seed and grain merchants and level damage done is done by direct observation. This separation process requires large amounts of labor, the cost is relatively large and long enough. Development of separation methods based on the nutmeg seed quality classes can be done with image processing technology in combination with artificial neural networks. The use of color and shape parameter in the selection of quality seeds in non-destructive nutmeg is needed to address the separation of nutmeg manually. This study aims to identify the quality of nutmeg by color and shape by digital image processing technology in combination with artificial neural networks. Color parameters of the model used consists of a color Red Green Blue, Hue Saturation Value color model, color model Lαb shape parameter consists of area, perimeter, roundness, compactness. Discriminant analysis based on parameters derived mean color saturation and a significant area as the network input. The results showed the mean saturation parameter and the area identified quality class ABCD head, and BWP Rimpel with 100% accuracy

AbstractModerate water stress tomato cultivated hydroponically in the greenhouse contains high lycopene and very sensitive to storage temperatures. This study aimed to observe the effect of storage temperatures on the lycopene content and color quality parameters of tomato (both moderate water stress and no water stress tomato). The lycopene content of water stress tomato increased with the temperatures higher than 10°C while no water stress tomato relatively stable or increased slightly. The lightness (L*) value of water stress and no water stress tomato decreased during storage in 10, 15, 25 and 30°C temperatures. The redness (a*), yellowness (b*), a*/b*, hue (h), and chroma (C*) remained stable after 4 days storage in those temperatures. Storage with temperatures above 15°C increased the color parameters value of both water stress and no water stress tomato. Moderate water stress treatment increased the redness color and harvesting tomato in ripening stage will only shows lightness (L*) major change during storage

Combining Kansei Engineering and Artificial Neural Network to Assess Worker Capacity in Small-Medium Food Industry

This paper highlighted a new method for worker capacity assessment in Indonesian small-medium food industry. The sustainable and productivity of Indonesian food industry should be maintained based on the workers capacity. The status of worker capacity could be categorized as normal, capacity constrained worker and bottleneck. By using Kansei Engineering, worker capacity can be assessed using verbal response of profile of mood states, non-verbal response of heart rate in a given workplace environmental parameters. Fusing various Kansei Engineering parameters of worker capacity requires a robust modeling tool. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is required to assess worker capacity. The model was demonstrated via a case study of Tempe Industry. The trained ANN model generated satisfied accuracy and minimum error. The research results concluded the possibility to assess worker capacity in Indonesian small-medium food industry by combining Kansei Engineering and ANN

Small Broiler Breeding Enterprise usually cultivates chicken from one hundred up to five thousand stocks. Some weakness were found in such enterprise including non market segmentation, unpredictable fluctuation on the price of the chicken, DOC and ransum. As the research object was Small Broiler Breeding Enterprise in Yogyakarta, which the sample was allocated on product of DOC Hibro Am 888. By using Decision Support Information System that was designed as a tool tor optimize profit of such enterprise, the best result of the sample analysis was achieved in seven week old. The result showed that for five hundred stocks, the optimum achievement should be Rp 574.508,1 at the production cost Rp 2.239.987,5 in November 2000. The Break Event Point analysis for 397 stocks. Basing on the selling price factor and its variable cost, the application program that was desugned for Decision Support Information System gave easiness in supporting the optimum decision

The high number of employee turnover is a problem that must be faced by the company. The intention of workers to leave is influenced by factors of job stress and job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze how far the effect of job stress and job satisfaction on turnover intention.  The research object is workers at SPN food company, with a sample of 41 respondents taken by simple random sampling technique. To examine the effect of job stress and job satisfaction on turnover intention, multiple linear regression analysis was used.  Based on the research conducted, the results obtained that partially job stress has a significant effect on turnover intention, while job satisfaction has no significant effect on turnover intention. Taken together, job stress and job satisfaction affect turnover intention with a large contribution effect of 76%, while the other 24% are influenced by other factors
