    IMPROVING PERCEPTUAL DIMENSION OF KNOWLEDGE QUALITY BY AUDIT TECHNIQUES

    This paper present the problems linked to the knowledge quality concept, taking into account the logical, the structural and the perceptual dimensions of knowledge quality. The logical dimension is based on data and software applications quality and can be improved by technical and computerized environment control audit. The structural dimension is discussed in connection with modularity, data base object model and redundancy check. To improve the perceptual dimension of knowledge quality we analyze the possibility of using the performance audit techniques. Thus way it can be offered to the managers the perception that data and knowledge have been well evaluated, in according with clear hypothesis, operational risks and with no missing analytical data.     An Implementation Model of a Declarative Framework for Automated Negotiation

    The subject of automated negotiations has received a lot of attention in the Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) research community. Most work in this field on the auction design space, on its parametrization and on mechanisms for specific types of auctions. One of the problems that have been recently addressed consists in developing a generic negotiation protocol (GNP) capable of governing the interaction between agents that participate in any type of auction. Though much has been said on this matter, the current results stop at the XML representation of specific negotiation mechanisms. In this paper we propose a declarative approach for specifying a generic auction protocol by using Belief-Desire-Intention (BDI) agents and the Jason programming language to represent the entities that communicate in an auction. In order to validate the claim on the generality of the proposed approach we have used the GNP to model two negotiation mechanisms: one for the English auction and one for the Dutch auction

    Multimedia content still presented on the web sites. The visualization of multimedia content by the users with disabilities, those that usually use screen readers, is extremely difficult. With the onset of the audio sequence of multimedia presentation it is difficult for users with visual impairs to listen the audio component of presentation and the audio version of the screen readers too, because the two audio streams cannot be controlled using only one volume control. Therefore, because of the difficulties to control the available audio streams and because of the difficulties to access the control buttons by people with disabilities, the multimedia content is often inaccessible for users with visual problems. More than this, the use of dynamic users’ interfaces is a critical problem because the screen-readers cannot detect the dynamics in content changes.     A General Filter for Stretched-Grid Models: Application in Two-Dimension Polar Geometry

    Variable-resolution grids are used in global atmospheric models to improve the representation of regional scales over an area of interest: they have reduced computational cost compared to uniform high-resolution grids, and avoid the nesting issues of limited-area models. To address some concerns associated with the stretching and anisotropy of the variable-resolution computational grid, a general convolution filter operator was developed.\ud \ud The convolution filter that was initially applied in Cartesian geometry in a companion paper is here adapted to cylindrical polar coordinates as an intermediate step toward spherical polar latitude–longitude grids. Both polar grids face the so-called “pole problem” because of the convergence of meridians at the poles.\ud \ud In this work the authors will present some details related to the adaptation of the filter to cylindrical polar coordinates for both uniform as well as stretched grids. The results show that the developed operator is skillful in removing the extraneous fine scales around the pole, with a computational cost smaller than that of common polar filters. The results on a stretched grid for vector and scalar test functions are satisfactory and the filter’s response can be optimized for different types of test function and noise one wishes to remove
