    Tutorial model with Student's pictorial riddle based worksheet for practicing representation capabilities of prospective teacher candidate

    This study aims to produce a valid and effective Pictorial Riddle-based Student Activity Sheets (SAS) that can improve student’s representation skills. The development of Student Activity Sheets uses four D models (Define, Design, Develop and Desseminate) from Thiagarajan. The trial was limited to Open University students in Bojonegoro study group using one shot case study. The research data was collected using validation, observation, tests and questionnaires with validation sheet instruments, observation sheets, learning outcomes tests and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, N-gain and t-test. The results of the study show: 1) SAS that was developed are fulfilling in terms of content and construct validity; 2) SAS that was developed are validity criteria fulfilling effectiveness criteria in terms of improving student representation skills and having positive responses. Based on the above, it can be concluded that SAS are valid and effective to improve the representation ability of prospective teacher student

    Moderating Effect of Capital Structure on the Effect of Sales Growth on the Value of Manufacturing Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    There are many indicators in determining the value of the company, one of which is sales growth. In addition to the level of sales growth, investors usually also focus their attention on the capital structure, because the value of the company can also be reflected in the company's ability to obtain funds to increase its growth. This study aims to determine the effect of sales growth on firm value, using the capital structure as measured by Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Debt to equity ratio (DER) and long-term debt (LtDER) as moderating variables. This research was conducted on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2015 to 2017. The sample in this study amounted to 131 companies.     Important science lessons are introduced to elementary school students through inquiry. This training is important to do because one key determinant of succesful laboratory activities is teachers. This course aims to enable teachers to design an inquiry-based Laboratory Activity and be able to apply it in the classroom. The training was conducted at SD-Kreatif Bojonegoro by Modeling, Design Laboratory activities and Implementing. The results of Laboratory Activities designed to trace the seven aspects that can support the development of inquiry skills in either category. The teacher's response in this activity is positive. The conclusion of this training can improve the ability of teachers in designing and implementing laboratory activities of Science and then expected to positively affect the frequency of science laboratory activities. Usually teachers use learning by using this Laboratory Activity, it will be affected on the pattern of inquiry behavior to the students as well so that will achieve the expected goals. Teachers are expected to continue for other topics, even for other similarly characterized subjects. This habitation is important so that the teacher's skill in making Laboratory Activity continues to be well honed and useful for the student

    Improving the Quality of Tutorials to Create A Quality Culture Through an Integrative Selection of Tutors

    Open University is needed to meet the needs of studying without being limited by space, time, amount, cost, age, and distance with a quality tutor. This study aims to describe the ideal form of tutor recruitment, the role of tutors and get quality tutors. This survey research was conducted at the Distance Learning Program Unit (DLPU) Surabaya with data collection methods through observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Sources of data were obtained from Study groups, Tutors, Department of Education, Regional Responsibility in the tutorial period 2019.1 and 2019.2. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that: (1) The ideal form of tutor recruitment is through tutor selection, through the tutor candidate test, through agency recommendations and special offers. (2) The role of tutors in the professional learning process is that tutors are still needed for certain subjects, as innovators and motivators, to play a role in reducing dropout. (3) To get quality tutors and not only as a part-time job so that tutors in working remain professional is to build a sound system. The obligations and rewards that are received appropriately.
