    Resilience in Children of Drug Abuse Families: A Case in Pattingalloang, Makassar City, Indonesia

    This study analyzed the problems commonly encountered by children of drug abuse families and their resilience afterward. The research method was qualitative research with a case study approach. In collecting data, this study applied semi-structured interviews and observations of both research subjects and documentation. The data analyzed qualitatively. The results found that both subjects A and B often exposure some negative social problems; bullying, ostracism, and having no playmates. As a result, subject A becomes inferior, and subject B becomes lazy to formal school. The resilience is as follows; subject A has ‘I am’ in the form of empathy and optimism, ‘I can’ in the form of responsibility, and ‘I have’ in the form of appraisal support for attention undertaken from significant person C. Subject B, in addition, has ‘I am’ in the form of empathy, optimism, and confidence, ‘I can’ in the form of diligence and responsibility, and ‘I have’ in the form of appraisal support exposure by significant person D.     Strategi Pemulihan Citra STAIN Curup

    The wide-spread news which tarnished the name of STAIN Curup cause a negative image of this institution in community. It can be seen from the decreasing of public interest to learn at STAIN Curup by the decline in number of participants followed selections in STAIN Curup at 2013-2015. This study aims to provide an overview and in-depth explanation about the image restoration strategies of STAIN Curup. This research was conducted using qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collecting done by observations, interviews, documentary studies, and data analysis to find answers to; (1) How is the strategy of STAIN Curup to recover its image? (2) What are the obstacles in recovering the image of STAIN Curup? The results showed that the strategy done by STAIN Curup is promotion to the schools annually. The inhibiting factors are: first, tactic. The tactic used in image restoration of STAIN Curup concentrated just on one form, namely the school to school promotion. The second factor is the role and tasks of Public Relation. The roles and tasks are not maximized, PR is just still reputed as the sender of letters. The third factor is the organizational communication. It is not running properly. Communication within an organization plays an important role, without it the organizational life will be fragile, can not grow and even die maybe

    The Struggle of Children from Drug-Abusing Families in Facing Social Exclusion

    This paper aims to explore the perceptions and reflections on the experiences of children from drug-abusing families in their struggle against social exclusion. The results are based on a qualitative phenomenological analysis of in-depth and face-to-face interviews with 27 informants, including; 12 children from drug-abusing families experiencing social exclusion, 10 parents, 3 neighbors, and 2 shelter professionals. This research resulted in the following themes: 1) parentification as a child's struggle, 2) feelings of sadness and frustration, 3) making peace with a negative stigma and 4) limited professional support. The findings of this study indicate that the experiences of children who have parents who abuse drugs are significantly influential in their lives, whether they live together or separated. Therefore, these children must receive adequate financial and professional support to help them cope with mixed and contradictory emotions and how to deal with the negative stigma that may arise from their surroundings
