    Pengembangan E-module IPS dengan Pendekatan Kontekstual untuk Siswa Kelas VII Smpk Mater Dei Probolinggo

    The utilization of learning resources is the key of the rise of linstructional activities in schools. Generally, school only using the teacher as the main resource of learning. The more appropriate the learning resource, the more easy and rich the students' knowledge. The purpose of this research and development are (1) to produce e-module of integrated social sciences for VII grade students' of SMPK Mater Dei Probolinggo by using contextual approach and (2) to know the learning outcomes in social science subject at the VII grade students' of SMPK Mater Dei that learned by using e-module of integrated social sciences. The model of develoment uses in this research is Lee & Owen Model. Based on the results of validation and test it could be concluded that the e-module developed valid and fit for use in learning and can improve student learning outcomes in social studies integrated.Pemanfaatan sumber belajar menjadi salah satu kunci dari berkembangnya kegiatan pembelajaran di suatu sekolah. Pada umumnya, sekolah hanya memanfaatkan guru sebagai sumber belajar utama. Apabila sumber belajar dipilih secara benar dan tepat, akan mempermudah dan memperkaya pengetahuan siswa. Tujuan penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah (1) menghasilkan produk bahan ajar berupa e-moduel IPS terpadu dengan pendekatan kontekstual untuk siswa kelas VII SMPK Mater Dei Probolinggo yang layak digunakan dan (2) mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas VII SMPK Mater Dei Probolinggo menggunakan e-moduel IPS terpadu dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Model pengembangan digunakan adalah model pengembangan Lee & Owens. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan uji coba maka diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa e-module yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran serta dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS terpadu

The results of this study show that the alternative strategy which can be implemented by management of PT. Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Timur management based on the results of Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM), i.e. internal and external long-term implementation based on TAS (Total Atractiveness Score), i.e. Product innovation 3.15 + 3.07 = 6 , 22 Market research 2.69 + 2.98 = 5.67 Increasing the number of customers 2.89 + 3.02 = 5.91 Improvement of services 2.79 + 2.83 = 5.62, whereas the Implementation of Medium-term strategies are: 1. Providing information about the product provision that applied according to the provisions of Bank Indonesia 2.     Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Biologi dengan Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah

    The aim of this study was to improve the quality of learning by analyzing and finding out accurately: (1) biology learning plan design focusing on fungi materials using problem based learning model, (2) process of biology learning using Problem Based Learning model (PBL), (3) assessment instruments at the end of the learning activity, and (4) improvement of learning outcomes in biology.The method used in this study was an action research with 3 cycle.Data were collected using observation and tests, and the qualitative descriptive analysis was then used to analyze the collected data. Results of this study are: (1) the learning design was made by initially determining student needs who had not understood the material prerequisites of definition fungi, find the problem by constructing learning objectives that measure the ability to solve the problems, the fungi materials, and PBL strategies, (2) the learning process using PBL learning model increase the activity of learners in the learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dengan menganalisis dan menemukan (1) desain RPP yang tepat (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran biologi (3) instrumen asesmen diakhir proses pembelajaran yang tepat (4) peningkatan hasil belajar biologi materi jamur dengan model PBM. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah action research dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas X1 dan X2 SMAN 1 Sungkai Barat. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) desain perencanaan pembelajaran dengan sintak (a) orientasi peserta didik berdasarkan masalah,(b) mengorganisasi peserta didik untuk belajar, (c) membimbing penyelidikan individual maupun kelompok, (d) mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya, (d) guru menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah.     The aims of research are to describe (1) input component : qualification, teacher’s competence and facilities of learning, (2) process component : planning, implementation of thematic learning program. This research used evaluation (Context, Input, Process and Product)  which is done at SD Negeri 2 Branti Raya. Subjects of research are head master, teacher and all of students class III. Input result was known that the teachers have academic qualification however it doesn’t fulfill teacher’s competence which is suitable for Rules Of National Education Minister RI No. 16, 2007 and BSNP versi 6.0, 11, 2008 indicator design to Standard Achievement Of Educational Minister Report : Academic Qualified Standard and Teacher’s Competence. Facilities and infrastructures do not fill the criteria. Process result shown that planning and implementation of thematic learning program is not optimal and it could be increased through result product which is activity and achievement that have not yet reached the goal of learning.Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) komponen input: kualifikasi dan kompetensi guru serta sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran,(2) komponen proses: perencanaan dan pelaksanaan program pembelajaran tematik. Penelitian menggunakan metode evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product), dilakukan di SD Negeri 2 Branti Raya dengan subjek penelitian adalah Kepala Sekolah, Guru dan seluruh Siswa Kelas III. Hasil input diketahui bahwa guru telah memenuhi kualifikasi akademik namun belum memenuhi kompetensi-kompetensi guru sesuai dengan harapan berdasarkan Permendiknas No. 16 Tahun 2007 dan BSNP versi 6.0. 11 Tahun 2008 Kerangka Indikator untuk Pelaporan Pencapaian Standar Nasional Pendidikan: Standar Kualifikasi Akademik dan Kompetensi Guru. Sarana dan prasarana juga tidak memenuhi kriteria yang diharapkan. Hasil proses menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan dan pelaksanaan program pembelajaran tematik tidak maksimal dan masih perlu ditingkatkan lagi dan hal ini sejalan dengan hasil produk berupa aktivitas dan hasil belajar yang belum mencapai tujuan pembelajaran

    756-1 Non Surgical Septum Reduction: A New Treatment for Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM)

    In patients with HOCM and marked intraventricular gradients resistant to conventional drug treatment with beta blockers and/or Verapamil surgical resection of the muscular septal bulge has been advocated. We have investigated a new catheter treatment in 5 patients with HOCM and significant LV ouflow tract gradients. All patients were in class 3 NYHA with angina and shortness of breath. Intraventricular gradients were measured with transeptally introduced Brockenbrough catheters in the LV inflow tract and arterial catheters in the aortic root. All patients were studied at rest, during the Valsalva manoeuvre, after nitrates and after Isoproterenol infusion. The measurements were repeated during balloon occlusion of the first major septal branch of the left anterior descending coronary artery. — In all patients the resting intraventricular gradient was reduced to less than 20mm/Hg and provocative testing (nitrates and post extrasystolic potentation) failed to create typical increments. The longest inflation time was 30 minutes. Three patients had Verapamil 0.5mg injected through the angioplasty balloon which resulted in a longer lasting gradient/reduction after deflation of the balloon.–After informed consent, 2 patient had 3–5ml of desiccated alcohol infused through the inflated balloon catheter in order to devitalise the offending myocardium. This resulted in a CK elevation up to 2,500 units and permanent abolition of the intraventricular gradient accompanied by marked clinical improvement.From these preliminary observations we conclude that non surgical septum ablation maybe a promising new technique for the treatment of HOCM. Further studies are warranted

    The aims of research are to describe:1 draft supervision visits classes that can improve the performance of teachers,2 deploy service program supervision in improving teacher performance, 3 improved performance after the supervising teacher. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). Subject of research are elementary school teacher which is about 2 persons at Elementary School 5 Sumberejo Kemiling Bandar Lampung. Time of research was done at odd semester academic year 2013-2014. The writer will finish at cycle I,II and III if program plan process evaluation has achieved good classification by score 70%-85% or very good by score 86%-100%. At Cycle I,II and III consists of 4 stages they are: 1 program planning, 2 program implementation,3 observation and program evaluation and 4 reflection.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : (1) rancangan program supervisi kunjungan kelas yang dapat meningkatkan kinerja guru, (2) pelaksanaan program pelayanan supervisi dalam meningkatkan kinerja, (3) peningkatan kinerja guru setelah dilakukan supervisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan bentuk Penelitian Tindakan Sekolah (PTS). Subjek penelitian adalah guru-guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) kelas V yang berjumlah 2 orang di SDN 5 Sumberejo Kemiling Bandar Lampung. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014. Siklus I, II dan III akan penulis hentikan jika nilai proses perencanaan program sudah mencapai klasifikasi (baik) dengan rentang skor (70%-85%) atau (Baik sekali) dengan rentang skor (86%-100%).     Dynamics and genetics of a disease-driven species decline to near extinction:lessons for conservation

    Amphibian chytridiomycosis has caused precipitous declines in hundreds of species worldwide. By tracking mountain chicken (Leptodactylus fallax) populations before, during and after the emergence of chytridiomycosis, we quantified the real-time species level impacts of this disease. We report a range-wide species decline amongst the fastest ever recorded, with a loss of over 85% of the population in fewer than 18 months on Dominica and near extinction on Montserrat. Genetic diversity declined in the wild, but emergency measures to establish a captive assurance population captured a representative sample of genetic diversity from Montserrat. If the Convention on Biological Diversity's targets are to be met, it is important to evaluate the reasons why they appear consistently unattainable. The emergence of chytridiomycosis in the mountain chicken was predictable, but the decline could not be prevented. There is an urgent need to build mitigation capacity where amphibians are at risk from chytridiomycosis.</p
