Cooking support system using multifunctional foot swiches

We have been developing computer augmented kitchen, the Kitchen of the Future, which has four foot switches to control the computer. This paper describes new multifunctional foot switches for this system. The foot switch has RFID reader antenna to identify a foot of users who are wearing RFID tag embedded shoes. Jingle Kitchen and Table for enjoying daily houseworks

In this paper, we propose the Jingle Kitchen and Table, which plays peasant sound according to users’ action. The purpose of this system is to make cooking and meal time pleasant and to monitor childlen’s activities by playing back recorded sound clips. We have installed sensors and switches into various tools and kitchen ware in the kitchen and table. These sensors trigger asigned sound when a user uses them. This sytem will provide not only pleasant cooking, but also rouse other family members’ interest in the kitchen work, and help to teach children about the importance of healthy eating
