Mean-Field Approach to Charge, Orbital, and Spin Ordering in Manganites
We present a mean-field theory of charge, orbital, and spin ordering in
manganites at 50% and 0% dopings by considering Jahn-Teller interaction,
nearest-neighbor repulsion, and no single-site double occupancy. For spinless
fermions, we show that Jahn-Teller distortion and charge-orbital ordering occur
simultaneously. In our two-dimensional model at 50% doping, for small
nearest-neighbor repulsion the system is orbitally polarized while for larger
repulsion the system undergoes CE type ordering. As for the 0% doping case, the
ground state is orbitally antiferromagnetic. Upon including spin degree of
freedom, at both 50% and 0% dopings the ordering remains the same at small
antiferromagnetic coupling between adjacent core spins.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma
Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a relatively uncommon gingival growth that is considered to be reactive in nature and postulated to appear secondary to irritation or trauma. They usually occur in young adults with a female predominance and are solitary in nature. We report a case of peripheral ossifying fibroma in a 55-year old femal
Variable Conductivity and Partial Slip on Flow over a Nonlinear Radiated Stretching Sheet
The heat and mass transfer effects on hydrodynamic slip flow past a non-linear stretching sheet is considered. For improving the thermal moment we also considered the thermal radiation and variable thermal conductivity. The condition of slip is one of the core concepts of the Navier – Stokes theory. The sheet is placed horizontally, so that buoyancy forces are less and negligible and the plate is stretching nonlinearly. The partial velocity slip may occur on the stretching boundary when the fluid is particulate such as emulsions, suspensions, foams and polymer solutions. It has significant in biological and medicinal treatments such as controlling the heart attacks, improving the blood pumping, controlling high pressure etc. The thermal radiation is also significant in various treatments such as endoscopy, radiation treatment cancer, scanning and DNA checkup etc. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by using similarity transformation and solutions are carried out with help of the Runge-Kutta based shooting technique. The effects of various material parameters on the velocity, temperature, concentration of the flow field as well as the skin-friction coefficient, heat and mass transfer rates are inspected in detail. It is found that the effects of slip parameter decelerates the fluid velocity, while raises the fluid temperature. Keywords: Non-linear stretching sheet; variable conductivity; partial slip; thermal radiation.
FABRICATION AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF NANOCOMPOSITES BY VARYING COMPOSITION OF AL – Al2O3 USING ANSYS
Aluminium Alloy (LM4) reinforced with 1, 1.5, 2.5 and 5% of nano particle aluminium oxide (Al2O3) were fabricated by using stir casting method. The fabricated Aluminium-Aluminium oxide (Al-Al2O3) nanocomposite materials under three types are tested such as tensile and hardness test and the mechanical properties are determined. A microstructure was also conducted. Finally the analysis value and the experimental value are carried out using Ansys version 10.
Comparison of two different techniques of uterine closure in caesarean section: Continuous single layer technique versus Babu and Magon technique
Background: To compare size of the caesarean scar and residual myometrial thickness (RMT) between continuous single non-interlocking and Babu and Magon technique for uterine closure following primary elective caesarean section (CS).Methods: An observational prospective cohort study was conducted at 6 weeks and 4 months postpartum following primary elective CS. Group A included 25 patients who underwent continuous single layer technique and Group B included 25 patients who underwent Babu and Magon technique for uterine closure. Baseline demographic profile, obstetric score, details of the CS and associated complications were studied. Two-dimensional Transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) measurements of the length, width and depth of the caesarean scar and RMT were compared. Results: Mean age of study population was 29.6 years. Malpresentation (44%) was the most common indication for CS. Mean Bishops score at the time of CS was <4. The duration of surgery (-2.8 min, 37.96 ±5.660min) and estimated amount of blood loss (-51.6 ml, mean 671.20 ±136.208ml) was less in Group A compared to Group B (40.76 ±4.68min, 722.80±132.083ml respectively). The caesarean scar measurements were similar in both groups at both visits. The mean RMT in Group B at 6 weeks and 4 months postpartum (8.05mm±2.06 and 7.10mm±2.04 respectively) was statistically higher than Group A (6.23mm ± 1.76 and 5.36mm ± 1.70 respectively), p=0.002.Conclusions: We conclude that Babu and Magon technique for uterine closure in caesarean section could result in better healing of the scar and probably reduce the adverse outcomes in subsequent pregnancies
Marine Pollution Bulletin: A Scientometric Analysis
This study aims to present a scientometric analysis of the Marine Pollution Bulletin journal (MPB) during the period of 2008 to 2017. A total of 5416 publications were published during the period of 2008 to 2017 in the MPB journal. The paper covers the scientometric analysis of year-wise distribution of publications Out of total 5416; the maximum numbers of publications are in the year 2017 contributing 905 (16.71%) papers. The relative growth rate (RGR) has decreased from 2009 (0.63) to 2017 (0.18) and the doubling time has increased from 2009 (1.10) to 2017 (3.85) in the span of 10 years. The degree of collaboration in the MPB journal is 0.94, which clearly indicates its dominance of multiple authors\u27 contributions. Among the Prolific authors, Liu J. is in the top rank who has contributed 49 articles. In geographical distribution of publications the highest number of contribution from United States 910 (12.06%)
