Non-functional Property based service selection: A survey and classification of approaches

    Get PDF
In recent years there has been much eļ¬€ort dedicated to developing approaches for service selection based on non-functional properties. It is clear that much progress has been made, and by considering the individual approaches there is some overlap in functionality, but obviously also some divergence. In this paper we contribute a classiļ¬cation of approaches, that is, we deļ¬ne a number of criteria which allow to differentiate approaches. We use this classiļ¬cation to provide a comparison of existing approaches and in that sense provide a survey of the state of the art of the ļ¬eld. Finally we make some suggestions as to where the research in this area might be heading and which new challenges need to be addressed

    pp-adic quotient sets

For AāŠ†NA \subseteq \mathbb{N}, the question of when R(A)={a/aā€²:a,aā€²āˆˆA}R(A) = \{a/a' : a, a' \in A\} is dense in the positive real numbers R+\mathbb{R}_+ has been examined by many authors over the years. In contrast, the pp-adic setting is largely unexplored. We investigate conditions under which R(A)R(A) is dense in the pp-adic numbers. Techniques from elementary, algebraic, and analytic number theory are employed in this endeavor. We also pose many open questions that should be of general interest.Comment: 24 page

Service Selection Based on Non-functional Properties

Service-oriented Architecture supports software to be composed from services dynamically. Selecting and composing appropriate services according to business process, policies and non-functional constraints is an essential challenge. This paper proposes a method for automatic selection of the most relevant service for composition based on non-functional properties and the userā€™s context. In doing this we also propose a method of obtaining and evaluating non-functional aspects

Strong correlation effects in the doped Hubbard model in infinite dimensions

The density of states and the optical conductivity of the doped Hubbard model on a Bethe lattice with infinite connectivities have been studied using an analytic variant of the Lanczos continued fraction method. The spectral weight of the gap states and the position of the chemical potential upon hole or electron doping have been studied. We argue that the strong correlation effects such as gap states and midinfrared band shown in two dimensions also appear in infinite dimensions.Comment: 9 pages, revtex, 3 figures upon reques

Critical theory of the topological quantum phase transition in a spin-2 chain

We systematically study the phase diagram of S=2 spin chain, by means of density-matrix renormalization group and exact diagonalization methods and confirm the presence of a dimer phase in the AKLT--SZH model. We find that the whole phase boundary between the dimer and SZH phases, including the multicritical point, is a critical line with the same central charge c=5/2c=5/2. Finally, we propose and confirm that this line can be described by the SO(5)1\rm SO(5)_1 Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) conformal field theory.Comment: 4.25 pages, 5 figure
