Ultrafast dynamics of a fermion chain in a terahertz field-driven optical cavity
We study the effect of a terahertz field-driven single cavity mode for
ultrafast control of a fermion chain with dissipation-induced nonlinearity and
quadratic coupling to an infrared-active phonon mode. Without photon loss from
the cavity, we uncover a first-order phase transition in the nonequilibrium
steady state only for the lower phonon-polariton, accompanied by polaritons
whose frequency response is asymmetric with respect to the photon frequency due
to the direct laser-induced dressing effect on the photon. A weak laser field
fails to induce the phase transition but renders the polaritons symmetrical.
Finally, we show that sufficiently strong photon loss from the cavity
eliminates the polaritons and the associated phase transition. The experimental
feasibility of these phenomena is also proposed
Solution of the Bosonic and Algebraic Hamiltonians by using AIM
We apply the notion of asymptotic iteration method (AIM) to determine
eigenvalues of the bosonic Hamiltonians that include a wide class of quantum
optical models. We consider solutions of the Hamiltonians, which are even
polynomials of the fourth order with the respect to Boson operators. We also
demonstrate applicability of the method for obtaining eigenvalues of the simple
Lie algebraic structures. Eigenvalues of the multi-boson Hamiltonians have been
obtained by transforming in the form of the single boson Hamiltonian in the
framework of AIM
Introduction. Maisonneuve fracture represents approximately 5% of all surgically treated ankle
fractures. Because these fractures are usually closed, we present the case of a Maisonneuve open fracture owing
to its rarity. Case report. A 63-year-old man presented to his emergency department after a right leg trauma.
Physical examination revealed a skin solution of continuity above the ankle joint, with a medial tibial malleolus
exposure. The radiography showed an opening of the tibiofibular mortise and a spiral fracture of the proximal
third of the fibula. Fixation with two cannulated screws was performed. After 12 months of follow up, the patient
has an average score of 86.8 points on the AOFAS scale. Conclusion. In the face of an open ankle dislocation, a
Maisonneuve open fracture should be suspected in spite of its infrequency, being the osteosynthesis an effective
therapeutic option in this type of fracture
(Pagnossin & Armi, 2011 ; Rastoldo, Amos & Davaud, 2009).
Solution of spin-boson systems in one and two-dimensional geometry via the asymptotic iteration method
We consider solutions of the matrix Hamiltonian of physical
systems within the context of the asymptotic iteration method. Our technique is
based on transformation of the associated Hamiltonian in the form of the first
order coupled differential equations. We construct a general matrix Hamiltonian
which includes a wide class of physical models. The systematic study presented
here reproduces a number of earlier results in a natural way as well as leading
to new findings. Possible generalizations of the method are also suggested.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures. Please check "http://www1.gantep.edu.tr/~ozer/"
