We report the case of a 75-year-old female patient with a history of Hashimoto′s thyroiditis who presented with congestive heart failure caused by atrial fibrillation associated with isolated adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) deficiency. This is the first case of the combination of these complex conditions. Clinical conditions in a patient with isolated ACTH deficiency and Hashimoto′s thyroiditis can be variable. Thus, it is sometimes difficult to establish a diagnosis. The mechanism underlying heart failure may be complex in some cases. Various conditions can affect patients simultaneously. Therefore, making a proper diagnosis is necessary to improve the patient′s prognosis

    No full text
ToyBox Futuristi is a digital puppeteeringtoolkit created by a student team from Carnegie MellonUniversity’s Entertainment Technology Center (known fromthis point forward as ETC). The team took its inspiration fromthe work of Italian Futurist Fortunato Depero, in particularBalli Plastici, the ‘plastic dance’ he created in 1918. Depero’smarionettes encapsulate the Futurist ideal of machinery strivingto break free of human control, a theme expanded upon by theuse of contemporary technologies. The project was driven by twodeliverables: the digital re-imagining of Balli Plastici, a version ofwhich was shown at the Performa 09 Arts Festival in New YorkCity, and the development of ToyBox Futuristi, the puppetrysoftware that enables users to create their own versions of theballet. This paper will focus on the creation of ToyBox Futuristi, including how the creative team took inspiration from the workof Depero and the Futurists while simultaneously establishing asense of style and functionality adapted to the digital age
