The report is an analysis of a Rhode Island state survey conducted by the Pell Center at Salve Regina University. The survey, fielded by Embold Research between October 12-17, 2023 via the web, gathered responses from 887 registered voters in Rhode Island, with a modeled margin of error of 3.3%. The survey asked a wide range of questions related to the health of U.S. democracy and political polarization, including on the topics of affective polarization, ideological polarization, news media consumption, and disinformation

Polarization is both a buzzword and a tangible indicator of the state of our nation. We hear how polarized the American public is from our politicians, the media, and our friends and family. We have also experienced the effects of voter suppression, election denial, cancel culture, the January 6th attack on the Capitol, and congressional gridlock.This Polarization Index was created to help us better understand how polarized the American public is really. Grasping the ways in which we are polarized – to what degree and over what issues – and identifying areas of bipartisan agreement, will give us a stronger foundation from which to make progress. The following report presents data from a multitude of reputable sources to provide a holistic understanding of partisan polarization in the United States.This report is Part III of four parts. Radiale Stosswellentherapie - gibt es einen positiven Langzeiteffekt bei chronischer Plantarfasziits?

Einleitung: Plantarfasziitis ist mit 10% die häufigste Ursache für Fersenschmerzen. Menschen die an einer chronischen Plantarfasziitis leiden, sind oftmals eingeschränkt in der Belastbarkeit und ihrer Lebensqualität. Radiale Stosswellentherapie ist ein relativ neu beschriebenes Thema in der Forschung. Sie ist günstiger sowie auch weniger schmerzhaft und einfacher anzuwenden, als die herkömmliche fokussierte Stosswellentherapie. Ziel: Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist zu eruieren, ob die radiale Stosswellentherapie bei Patientinnen und Patienten mit chronischer Plantarfasziitis eine positive Langzeitwirkung hat. Methode: Für die Beantwortung der Fragestellung wurde anhand von genau definierten Ein- und Ausschlusskriterien mittels den Datenbanken CINAHL Complete, MEDLINE via Ovid und PubMed drei Studien gefunden. Die anschliessende Studienbewertung erfolgte mit Hilfe der Beurteilungsinstrumente AICA und PEDro. Ergebnisse: Die radiale Stosswellentherapie erbringt gute Langzeitresultate bezüglich Schmerzen und Funktionseinschränkungen bei chronischer Plantarfasziitis. Auch Stosswellentherapie in Kombination mit plantarfaszienspezifischem Dehnen zeigte eine gute Langzeitwirkung. Schlussfolgerung: Sofern konservative Massnahmen bei chronischer Plantarfasziitis keine Besserung erzielten, ist die radiale Stosswellentherapie eine gute Möglichkeit, um eine allfällige Operation zu umgehen. Um den Effekt zu verstärken, kann zudem eine begleitende physiotherapeutische Massnahme, wie beispielsweise das Dehnen empfohlen werden.Introduction: With 10% plantar fasciitis proved to be the most common cause of heel pain. People suffering from chronic plantar fasciitis are often limited in their resilience and Quality of life. Radial shock wave therapy is a relatively new topic in research. It is cheaper, less painful and also easier to apply than conventional focused shock wave therapy. Aim: The aim of the present study is to determine whether radial shock wave therapy has a positive long-term effect in patients with chronic plantar fasciitis. Method: Based on precisely predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, three studies were found to answer the question using the databases CINAHL Complete, MEDLINE via Ovid and PubMed. The subsequent study evaluation was carried out using the assessment tools AICA and PEDro. Findings: Radial shock wave therapy provides good long-term results with regard to pain and functional limitations in chronic plantar fasciitis. These results are reinforced by combining shock wave therapy with physiotherapeutic measures such as plantar fascia specific stretching. Reasoning: If conservative measures did not improve chronic plantar fasciitis, radial shock wave therapy would be a good way to avoid surgery. To enhance the effect, an accompanying physiotherapeutic measure, for example stretching, can be recommended

PEMANFAATAN POTENSI PERTANIAN SEBAGAI DAYA TARIK WISATA BERKELANJUTAN DI DESA BAYUNG GEDE KABUPATEN BANGLI, BALI

Artikel ini menganilis tentang pemanfaatan potensi pertanian sebagai daya tarik wisata berkelanjutan di Desa Bayung Gede Kabupaten Bangli, Bali. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan potensi pariwisata pertanian di Bayung Gede sebagai sebuah daya tarik wisata berkelanjutan harus dikelola dengan prinsip-prinsip pariwisata berkelanjutan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas potensi pariwisata dan pemanfaatan potensi pertanian sebagai sebuah daya wisata berkelanjutan di Desa Bayung Gede, Kabupaten Bangli, Bali. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan hubungan antara fenomena atau fenonomena yang diteliti dengan sistematis, factual dan akurat. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwaDesa Bayung Gede memiliki banyak potensi baik potensi budaya maupun potensi alam yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai daya tarik wisata. Beberapa tahun akhir-akhir ini desa tersebut sedang gencar-gencarnya dikembangkan sebagai desa wisata yang dalam pengembangannya memanfaatkan potensi budaya yang ada. Adanya trend kegiatan wisata untuk mengunjungi atau tertarik pada alam memberikan peluang bagi daerah perdesaan seperti Desa Bayung Gede mengembangkan daerahnya untuk kegiatan pariwisata. Potensi alam Desa Bayung Gede sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi agrowisata mengingat daerah ini merupakan salah satu penghasil jeruk dan kopi di Kintamani. Potensi pertanian tersebut dapat dikembangkan sebagai daya tarik wisata berkelanjutan yang dapat memberikan manfaat ekonomi, sosial budaya dan lingkungan yang tidak hanya dapat dirasakan untuk generasi sekarang tetapi juga untuk generasi yang akan datang

Voltage analysis on MV/LV distribution networks with the integration of DC fast chargers

The development of ultra-low carbon emission electric vehicles (EVs) has been grown rapidly over the last years in response to the large share of greenhouse gas emissions contributed by the transportation sector. One of the main issues among EV drivers is range anxiety, which mainly results from the long charging battery durations. DC fast charging, the latest charging technology, aims to shorten charging duration; however, the success of e-mobility will be also related to the capacity of the distribution network to integrate the new EVs and their chargers. Specifically, the integration of EVs and DC fast chargers will increase the peak demand and may pose significant challenges for MV and LV distribution networks if adequate control measures are not implemented. This paper introduces a topology for the modelling and connection of a DC fast charger on a real MV/LV distribution network and ensures that the network operates within acceptable limits and that consumers connected to it are minimally affected. Simulation results show that DC fast chargers stress the LV distribution network by causing grid congestions; however, local voltage control measures and a vehicle-to-grid technology can improve some of the grid-side challenges
