Atmospheric Plasma Treatment Enhances the Biosensing Properties of Graphene Oxide-Silver Nanoparticle Composite

    Get PDF
This work presents an approach to tailor the properties of the graphene oxide- silver nanoparticle (GO-AgNPs) composite using room temperature atmospheric plasma treatment. In particular, the aerosolized deposition of graphene oxide-silver nanoparticle composite (GO-AgNPs), the rapid reduction of GO at room temperature, and AgNPs surface excitation are investigated in this work. The plasma treatment of aerosolized GO leads to the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) formation which is observed from the increase in D to G band ratio from 0.65 for GO to 1.2 for rGO in the Raman spectra. Scanning Electron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, and Selected Area Electron Diffraction patterns show that the plasma treatment leads to the morphological changes and the Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy results show the improvement in the conductivity of the rGO-AgNP composite. To demonstrate the efficacy of the technique, plasma treated GO and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) composite is used for the electrode surface modification of the commercial screen-printed electrodes for the cortisol detection. The cyclic voltammetry scans to detect cortisol shows that the sensitivity of the surface modified electrodes is increased after plasma treatment. This room temperature atmospheric plasma annealing technique is of specific interest for rapid processing of nanoparticles on flexible surfaces without subjecting them to elevated temperatures

Today farmers are facing more problems about fruit’s weight measuring and recording at the time of their final cost calculation while selling to the agents. Now a day, weighing issues are the most important in concern with the issues of farmers everywhere in the agriculture field, so weighing of everything from farm gains higher and higher importance in recent years. Here in this paper, trying to introduce the comprehensive literature study related to the various measuring systems that are necessary in the fields such as agriculture, industries and market. Weighing and measuring where possibilities of incursion are increasing day by day. In past days, the research is gone on various weighing and measuring systems, which provided the solution to manual methods. Due to the advancement in recent techniques, some weighing systems are based on microcontroller, ARM11, dynamic, fuzzy-logic, force-sensing, image-processing, filter, online, sensor network, and LVDT based etc. Every system has its own advantages and disadvantages. In most of systems, strain gauge technique is used for weighing so the system will become cost effective, more reliable and it will take less time to stores the many reading for continuous measuring process. The weight measuring systems today needs to make use of the latest technology. In some papers, the authors have presented weighing systems based on embedded and PLC and sometimes the load sensors is connected by online and sensor network. Hence, it could not easily hack the data of weighing records by hackers. A lot of modification takes places in various weighing and recording systems from the last few years, in next coming years many changes will takes place

Stress and Strength Evaluation of Double Lap Adhesive Joint.

    Get PDF
This paper summarizes the evaluation of stress and strength of double lap adhesive joint. Stress and deformation of the double lap adhesive joint is obtained by finite element analysis using ANSYS and strength is obtained by experimental method. Joint failure is one of the main causes of interruption of rotating or stationary machinery operation. This generally leads to unscheduled shut down thereby increasing the cost of operations. One of the major concerns in adhesive joint is the detection of the rupture initiation and strength of joint before it develops into a failure of material. The ability to achieve strength of adhesive joint is essential to the optimal maintenance of whole system with respect to cost and productivity. The effects of the length of adherend, width of adherend, the overlapping length of the joint, the thickness of the adhesive layer and the initial impact velocity of the impacted mass on the double lap adhesive joint are studied. Early detection of the stresses and rupture in the joint are crucial for the prevention of damage to the system

Background: Natural deaths represent a large proportion of sudden (unexpected and unattended) deaths. The term “sudden cardiac death” (SCD) refers to death from the abrupt cessation of cardiac function due to cardiac arrest. The objective of this study was to identify various causes, risk factors, age and sex distribution associated with sudden cardiac death in an Indian setting. Methods: Detail review of medical records and an autopsy study of all cases of sudden cardiac death that occurred instantaneously or within 24 hours of onset of symptoms in a tertiary care institution, between December 2010 and December 2015 was carried out. Results: In total, 124 cases of sudden death were studied during this period. Out of 124 cases, 109 cases (87.90%) showed pathology in heart and aorta. Atherosclerotic coronary heart disease was the most common cause of death (72.58%) followed by Hypertensive heart disease (4.83%), Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (3.22%), Myocarditis (3.22%), Infective endocarditis (1.61%), Rheumatic heart disease (0.8%), Aortic dissection (0.8%), and syphilitic aortitis (0.8%).Conclusions: Sudden death is a source of concern and a detailed postmortem examination is mandatory to ascertain its cause. Presence of co-existing conditions like diabetes and hypertension contribute immensely to the risk of sudden death. Occurrence of sudden death at a younger age presents a formidable challenge. Prevention of development of risk factors of atherosclerosis at an early age can be an effective strategy to counter this ailment at all levels

Nowadays people widely use internet for purchasing a home, car, furniture etc.  In order to obtain information for purchasing that product user prefer advertisements, pamphlets, and various sources or obtain the information by means of Salesperson. Though, to receiving such product information on computer or any device, users have to use  lots of mouse and keyboard actions again and again, which is wastage of time and inconvenience. This will reduce the amount of time to gather particular information regarding the particular product. User is also unable to determine its inner dimensions through images. These dimensions can be predicted by using 3D motion tracking of human movements and Augmented Reality. Based on 3D motion tracking of human movements and Augmented Reality application, we introduce a such kind of interaction that is not seen before . In the proposed system, the main aim is to demonstrate that with better interaction features in showrooms as well as online shopping could improve sales by demonstrating the purchasing item more wider. With the help of the our project the customer will be able to view his choices on screen according to him and thereby can make better decisions. In this paper, we proposed hand gesture detection and recognition method to detect hand movements , and then through the hand gestures, control commands are sent to the system that enable user to retrieve data and access from Information Kiosk for better purchase decision.
