    Tunnel Parsing with counted repetitions

    Get PDF
The article describes a new and efficient algorithm for parsing, called Tunnel Parsing, that parses from left to right on the basis of a context-free grammar without left recursion and rules that recognize empty words. The algorithm is applicable mostly for domain-specific languages. In the article, particular attention is paid to the parsing of grammar element repetitions. As a result of the parsing, a statically typed concrete syntax tree is built from top to bottom, that accurately reflects the grammar. The parsing is not done through a recursion, but through an iteration. The Tunnel Parsing algorithm uses the grammars directly without a prior refactoring and is with a linear time complexity for deterministic context-free grammars

Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, May, 2016The article provides a summary of collaborative learning and assessment and presents their definition, basic elements, advantages and application. It is focused on the new role of the learners – who carry the responsibility for their own education and to their peers’, in which they work together, during collaborative activities. Collaborative assessment can be regarded as an educational activity in the collaborative learning. Other advantages, besides the academic ones, are shown – social and psychological. Particular attention is paid to the use of this method in e-learning. E-learning environments that implement collaborative education and assessment are reviewed.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski

Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, May, 2016In this article a summary is made of the use of standard electronic game’s methods in e-learning. It shows how game-elements and game-mechanics can be applied in e-learning environments. Different types of Serious games – Game-based learning, Gamification of learning, Organizational-dynamic games, Simulation Games and Edutainment have been discussed. The article introduces the game-based model for learning and 70:20:10 education framework. There are examples for e-Learning environments that include some of the abovementioned game-elements and game-techniques. The focus in the conclusion is on the potential benefits of successful implementation of serious games into a learning environments.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski

EPICUREANISM AND CHRISTIANITY IN HISTORICAL NOVELS VALERIUS. A ROMAN STORY BY J.G. LOCKHART AND THE EPICUREAN BY T. MOORE

    No full text
The article examines historical novels by J.G. Lockhart and T. Moore hitherto under- studied in Russia. It analyzes main principles and techniques of historical narrative in these novels; the influence of Walter Scott and F.R. Chateaubriand; philosophical Epicureanism in the novels; and the specificity of their work with historical sources. The author comes to the following conclusions. Lockhart’s and Moore’s reflection on time and history results in the idea that every man is connected with the whole of creation, and that the culture of each epoch depends on the culture of earlier civilizations. Lockhart’s novel Valerius, for example, was influenced by the genre of the Enlightenment philosophical novella. Such categories as time, the meaning of life, death, place, and role of man in history are intro- duced in the narrative through the form of philosophical dialogue. Following the tradi- tion of F.R. Chateaubriand, Lockhart, and Moore largely draw on literary heritage: texts by Homer, Virgil, Horace, Cicero as well as philosophical works of antiquity: the writings of Epicurus, Lucretius, and Plato. Historical novels by Lockhart and Moore reveal cer- tain important aspects of the ethical and philosophical system of the 19 th century Victorian England

A Planning Model with Resources in e-Learning

    No full text
This work proposes a model for planning of education based on resources and layers. Each learning material or concept is determined by certain characteristics: a layer and a list of resources and resource values. Models of studied subject domain, learner, information and verification unit, learning material, plan of education and education have been defined. The plan of education can be conventional, statical, author’s and dynamic. Algorithms for course generation, dynamic plan generation and carrying out education are presented. The proposed model for planning of education based on resources and layers has been included in the system PeU

Дослідження якості поверхневих вод магнітогорського промислового району для екологічної оцінки стану техногенних водотоків

It was established that the average chemical indicators of water (ml/l) were as follows: 760 for mineralization, 73 for chlorides, 54 for sulfates, and water pH was not more than 8. Taking into account the indicators of the groundwater quality in this area, it can be said that the general pollution resistance of natural waters is low.The main indicators characterizing quality and use of water from this source were considered. Coming of industrial effluents from ore mining and processing facilities and metallurgical production of the integrated metallurgical plant has led to a significant change in the physicochemical parameters of the aquatic environment, which limits this water use.In general, the irrigation indices calculated in this work comply with the norms. However within the city limits (pond-cooler), water is characterized by an elevated pH (>8), which is already a limitation for the use of pond water for irrigation. It should be noted that water containing CO2>1.5 mg-equ./l and pH>8.4 has limitations for irrigation of crops. The obtained data are important for the use of water for the needs of population and the city-forming Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Works PJSC. Weighted Single-Step Genomic Best Linear Unbiased Prediction Method Application for Assessing Pigs on Meat Productivity and Reproduction Traits

    No full text
Changes in the accuracy of the genomic estimates obtained by the ssGBLUP and wssGBLUP methods were evaluated using different reference groups. The weighting procedure’s reasonableness of application Pwas considered to improve the accuracy of genomic predictions for meat, fattening and reproduction traits in pigs. Six reference groups were formed to assess the genomic data quantity impact on the accuracy of predicted values (groups of genotyped animals). The datasets included 62,927 records of meat and fattening productivity (fat thickness over 6–7 ribs (BF1, mm)), muscle depth (MD, mm) and precocity up to 100 kg (age, days) and 16,070 observations of reproductive qualities (the number of all born piglets (TNB) and the number of live-born piglets (NBA), according to the results of the first farrowing). The wssGBLUP method has an advantage over ssGBLUP in terms of estimation reliability. When using a small reference group, the difference in the accuracy of ssGBLUP over BLUP AM is from −1.9 to +7.3 percent points, while for wssGBLUP, the change in accuracy varies from +18.2 to +87.3 percent points. Furthermore, the superiority of the wssGBLUP is also maintained for the largest group of genotyped animals: from +4.7 to +15.9 percent points for ssGBLUP and from +21.1 to +90.5 percent points for wssGBLUP. However, for all analyzed traits, the number of markers explaining 5% of genetic variability varied from 71 to 108, and the number of such SNPs varied depending on the size of the reference group (79–88 for BF1, 72–81 for MD, 71–108 for age). The results of the genetic variation distribution have the greatest similarity between groups of about 1000 and about 1500 individuals. Thus, the size of the reference group of more than 1000 individuals gives more stable results for the estimation based on the wssGBLUP method, while using the reference group of 500 individuals can lead to distorted results of GEBV
