Conjugates of a Photoactivated Rhodamine with Biopolymers for Cell Staining

    Get PDF
Conjugates of the photoactivated rhodamine dyes with biopolymers (proteins, polysaccharides, and nucleic acids) are important tools for microscopic investigation of biological tissue. In this study, a precursor of the photoactivated fluorescent dye (PFD) has been successfully used for staining of numerous mammalian cells lines and for conjugate formation with chitosan (“Chitosan-PFD”) and histone H1 (“Histone H1.3-PFD”). The intensive fluorescence has been observed after photoactivation of these conjugates inside cells (A431, HaCaT, HEK239, HBL-100, and MDCK). Developed procedures and obtained data are important for further application of novel precursors of fluorescent dyes (“caged” dyes) for microscopic probing of biological objects. Thus, the synthesized “Chitosan-PFD” and “Histone H1-PFD” have been successfully applied in this study for intracellular transport visualization by fluorescent microscopy

Functional-Semantic Features of Complex Sentences of Purpose in British and American Variants of English

The functional-semantic features of purpose clauses introduced by conjunctions so that, lest, in order that, for fear that, in the hope that, and to the end that are examined in this study. These conjunctions differ in their frequency and expressiveness. The material for the study was taken from the Corpus of Contemporary American English and the British National Corpus. The novelty of the research lies in specifying the list of differential features of the categorical grammatical value of complex sentences of purpose. It is demonstrated that complex sentences with purpose conjunctions are used in literary, journalistic, scientific, and conversational texts, but their frequency differs not only depending on the type of discourse but also on the language variant. Based on statistical data, it is confirmed that Present Subjunctive forms are the most commonly used in purpose clauses regardless of the language variant. Types of purpose clauses are analyzed: proper-purpose, argumentative-purpose, syncretic, and anti-purpose clauses. It is established that the first ones, which are not complicated by additional shades of meaning, are most frequent in American texts, while the third ones, containing indications of circumstances for achieving the goal, are most commonly used in British texts

The period of self-isolation had a negative impact on all categories of people. The participants of the educational process were not left aside either: teachers and students. In conditions of self-isolation, it is quite difficult to correctly build interaction in the educational process, especially in the presence of negative factors

© 2016 Yakhina et al.The research urgency is caused by the development of economic integration and demand for professionals able to adapt to constantly changing working conditions. The purpose of the paper is to develop practical recommendations on formation of University graduates’ readiness to occupational mobility. A leading approach to the study is the structural-functional approach allowing revealing of the nature and structure of occupational mobility, to identify the pedagogical conditions of formation of University graduates’ readiness to professional mobility. The study involved 300 teachers, 450 students who took part in characterizing levels of readiness for occupational mobility and definition of its criteria. Main results of the research consist of the identification of core components of occupational mobility (axiological, epistemological, praxeological) and pedagogical conditions of formation of University graduates’ readiness to occupational mobility (formation of occupational value orientations of students; the modular structure of educational process; organization of project-based learning), identifying of levels of readiness for occupational mobility (high, average, low) and the criteria (motivational, cognitive, activity-related). The significance of the results obtained is that the identified components of occupational mobility allow us to consider it as an integrative quality of the personality of the specialist, which characterizes the readiness for rapid and successful acquisition of new activities. Identified pedagogical conditions of formation of University graduates’ readiness for occupational mobility provide their focus on the active acquisition of the latest occupational achievements and expansion of the scope of activities, qualification enhancement and development of competitiveness. Levels of readiness for occupational mobility help to develop the ability to quickly mastering of new skills and changes in them arising under the influence of scientific, social and technical changes. Criteria of readiness for occupational mobility reflect the unity of fundamental knowledge, occupational competences and personal qualities

Endogenous secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor by multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells derived from human third molar dental follicles

Human stem cells secretome is currently a very hot area of research. We report that multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells isolated from human third molar dental follicles (MMSC-TMDF), are able to secrete high levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) when cultured in vitro. Due to the fact that VEGF is a well known angiogenic and neuroprotective factor, the use of MMSC-TMDF is promising for the development of stem cell therapy of various degenerative human diseases

Improving the Efficiency of Using Smalldistributed Generation Systems through Mechanisms of Demand Management for Electricity and Gas

The article is devoted to the development of a model and a set of methods for improving the efficiency of using small-distributed generation systems. The basis of the developed model is the integration of methods of price-dependent demand management for electricity and natural gas with a system of small-distributed power generation. The developed management model allows electricity consumers to reduce the cost of purchasing energy resources in comparison with the cost of electricity supplied from energy companies, based on the analysis of price indicators for the supply of electricity from regional energy markets and the terms of natural gas supply. The article presents the results of the pricing principles analysis for all components of the electricity and natural gas cost. The possibility of complex price-dependent demand management for the consumption of electric power is demonstrated through the management of electricity generation schedules by a small-generation system and schedules of gas consumption spent on electricity generation by a system of small-distributed generation. The complex of methods of price-dependent power consumption developed by the authors, taking into account the use of the system of small-distributed generation, can be adapted to the use by various types of electricity consumers that purchase electricity in the energy markets of various countries of the world. The work was supported by Act 211 Government of the Russian Federation, contract No 02.A03.21.0011
