The Perception Analysis of Cyber Crimes in View of Computer Science Students
AbstractComputer Technologies growing rapidly has become an indispensable part of modern life. While making social life easier, the changes that technology has brought also bring forth some security issues. Thus, it is easier to commit crimes and we are faced with cyber-crimes. This study examines the differences among the cyber-crime perceptions of undergraduate students at Trakya University in terms of demographic factors. The method of the study was a questionnaire that was given to lecturers and students at Trakya University sample and it was designed to measure and assess the levels of interest in technology, the severity of cyber-crimes and the individuals’ perceptions of cyber-crimes in terms of ethics and law. The findings of the study can help us define the level of common perception of cyber-crimes and the meaningful differences between separate groups
Relationship of serum netrin-1 levels with breast masses
Introduction: Netrin-1
has been shown to induce angiogenesis and is considered to function as a
proto-oncogene. We aimed to evaluate the relationship of serum netrin-1 level
with the presence of breast mass and the nature of mass. Methods: A total of
84 patients, including 27 patients with benign mass, 31 patients with malignant
mass and 26 healthy controls, were enrolled in the study. Results: In our
study, the mean serum netrin-1 level was 479±325 pg/ml in the patients with
malignant mass, 336.9±178.2 pg/ml in the patients with benign mass and
264.7±112.4 pg/ml in the healthy controls, respectively. There was a
statistically significant difference in mean serum netrin-1 level between these
three groups (p=0.007). When the patients participating in the study were
divided in to two groups as those with (the benign and malign groups) and
without (the control group) mass, the mean serum netrin-1 level was 264.7±112.4
pg/ml in those without mass and 412.8±274.2 pg/ml in those with mass,
respectively. It was seen that the mean serum netrin-1 level of those with mass
was statistically significantly higher than that of those without mass
(p=0.016).
Conclusion: The mean
serum netrin-1 level was found to be significantly higher in the patients with
breast mass, especially those with malignant mass
A case of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis with Multisystemic Involvement in an Adult Patient
Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare group of idiopathic diseases characterized by abnormal proliferation of bone marrow-derived dendritic cells called histiocytes. It is more common in childhood, but in the literature, some adult cases have been reported. For several reasons, the disease is more familiar to pediatricians than it is to physicians handling adult cases; therefore, the diagnosis of adult cases is often delayed or missed. The clinical course of LCH is variable, ranging from a self-healing solitary bone lesion to a widely disseminated life-threatening disease. The diagnosis of LCH should be based on histologic and immunophenotypic examination of perilesional skin. In this report, we present a case of LCH in a 66-yearold woman with bone, skin, and pituitary gland involvement; this case emphasizes that a patient with LCH should undergo careful multidisciplinary evaluation.Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare group of idiopathic diseases characterized by abnormal proliferation of bone marrow-derived dendritic cells called histiocytes.
