The method of E.V. Borutski was used for determining the production of chironomids, that is, the dynamics of the number and biomass of the larvae were analysed, their death, a calculation of emergence and the number of deposited egg layings was carried out. In addition to the method of Borutski, the authors also calculated the seasonal dynamics of the number of larvae of the younger age stages in the microbenthos

The prevalence rate of multiple sclerosis (MS) in Volyn Region (101.0 per 100000) is the highest in Ukraine. To study MS risk factors in Volyn Region, special questionnaires were distributed among all MS patients residing in Volyn region. Results were obtained from 227 respondents including 154 women and 73 men of mean age 43±10.6 years. The control group included 105 healthy respondents inhabiting Volyn region. We found associated risk factors for MS to be: mother of Volyn origin, maternal age after 27 years old and paternal age after 29 years old at birth of respondent, subject\u27s born as a third child, brestfeeding for less than one year, living in the zone of industrial pollution, near mobile, TV- and radio re-translators, full traffic automobile roads, time spending outdoors less than one hour in winter and less than eight hours in summer, consumption of fruit and vegetables less than 5 times a week, of beef less than 3 times a week, poultry meet less than 3, berries less than 3, cereals less than 4 times a week, chronic stressful situations in life. Patients with MS more frequently reported AVRI, hepatitis and herpes simplex virus. Among patients with MS there were fewer respondents with history of chickenpox, rubella and DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus), BCG immunizations. Here, we introduced a novel study of MS risk factors within Volyn Region. The Registry established in 2012 is being constantly updated and can be a database for a long-term retrospective study involving a large number of patients

From library co-operation to consortia : comparing experiences in the European Union with the Russian Federation

    Get PDF
Copeter is one of the few Tempus/Tacis projects about consortium building: bringing libraries together in a consortium in order to achieve common goals. This article will attempt to answer three main questions: 1. What factors create good library co-operation? 2. What are the conditions for success? 3. Is the Copeter consortium fulfilling these requirements? Tempus is a European Community (EC) programme for the development in higher education systems through co-operation in three specific regions in/or adjacent to Europe: the Balkan countries (CARDS), the Mediterranean countries (MEDA) and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (TACIS). Copeter is a project for co-operative management of electronic document provision between three universities in St. Petersburg (Russia). The partners are: ● Russia • St. Petersburg State Technical University (STU), project co-ordinator • Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU) • St.Petersburg State University of Economy and Finance (FINEK) ● European Union • University of Antwerp (UA), Belgium, project contractor to the EU • Maastricht University (UM, Netherlands The Copeter project (2002-2004) has five tracks: • Consortium building in general • Library and consortia management • Union catalogue • Electronic document ordering • Electronic document suppl

The Study of Thermal Reversibility of the Freezing-defrost Process of Browned Onion

The features and dynamics of the freezing-defrost processes of the studied sample of browned onion were established and studied. At the research it was revealed, that at freezing temperature –20 °С the value of maximal freezing speed does not change. The process of defrost of browned onion was carried out using calorimeter with the reverse connection on temperature and PID-regulator, on the temperature curve of its freezing. It was determined, that the process of defrost of the studied sample needs more heat that is educed at freezing. The modes of stepped defrost that testify to the possibility of thermal reversibility of freezing process were experimentally established. The direct dependence of educed and consumed heat quantity on the mode of thermal processing of studied sample was revealed. The more moisture was eliminated from the food product, the less heat must be consumed for defrost. The analogous dependence is typical also for the freezing process. The received data can be used for determination of the rational modes of freezing and defrost of the browned onion

MANTLE-CRUST INTERACTION AT THE LATE STAGE OF EVOLUTION OF HERCYNIAN ALTAI COLLISION SYSTEM, WESTERN PART OF CAOB

Altai collision system of Hercynides was formed in Late Paleozoic as a result of oblique collision of Siberian continent and Kazakhstan composed terrane [Vladimirov et al., 2003; 2008; Xiao et al., 2010]. At the late stages of its evolution (time interval from 310–300 to 280–270 Ma) the huge different mafic and felsic magmatism occurred at the territory (Fig. 1) [Vladimirov et al., 2008; Khromykh et al., 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016; Kotler et al., 2015; Sokolova et al., 2016]. It is evident about increased thermal gradient in lithosphere and about significant role of mantle and active manifestation of mantle-crust interactions. Some magmatic complexes may be considered as indicators of mantle-crust interaction processes.Altai collision system of Hercynides was formed in Late Paleozoic as a result of oblique collision of Siberian continent and Kazakhstan composed terrane [Vladimirov et al., 2003; 2008; Xiao et al., 2010]. The review of the monographic study by M. S. Britkevich and M. G. Sergeeva “Andragogical support of innovative activity of teachers in the system of professional development” states that this scientific work should be evaluated taking into account the state order for the formation and development of innovative educational infrastructure and building a new strategy of effective activity in the field of secondary, higher and additional education. The need of a modern school for teachers who are able to integrate pedagogical innovations into professional practice (both individual and mass) indicates the need to create conditions for more effective support of innovative activity of teachers in the framework of professional development, as well as for their perception of certain rules of innovative behaviour and the creation of new varieties, algorithms and methods of systematization and popularization of advanced teaching experience. The study of the problems associated with the introduction of the relevant innovations in the educational process determines the main indicators and evaluation criteria of the reviewed work
