We present the results of the experiment performed by the CHIMERA Collaboration with the 4π4\pi CHIMERA array, for the system 197Au+197Au^{197}Au+^{197}Au at 23 AMeV. Conclusions related to the shape of the freeze-out configuration are drawn

Quest for toroidal freeze-out configuration in the central ^{197}Au + ^{197}Au collisions at 23 AMeV

We present the results of the experiment performed by the CHIMERA collaboration with the 4π CHIMERA array, for the system ^{197}Au + ^{197}Au at 23 AMeV. The experimental data are compared with ETNA and QMD model predictions. Efficiency factor is used as an indication of the formation of an exotic freeze-out configuration. Comparison between experimental data and model predictions may indicate the formation of flat/toroidal nuclear systems

In 2012, in Europe, there were noticed over 3 million new cases of cancer and 1.75 million of deaths from cancer. Numerous anticancer agents are cytotoxic, can damage normal cells, and they can cause serious side effects. Currently, natural and non-toxic agents are being sought that reduce the cost of therapy, are more effective and targeted, and do not damage healthy cells. Chrysin which belong to flavonoids family as natural substance, has multiple anticancer activities. It has been reported that chrysin can induce apoptosis in tumour cells by different mechanism. In our work we demonstrated the potential use of chrysin in gastrointestinal, breast, cervical, and lung cancer. In conclusion it is proven that chrysin or combination of chrysin with other related drugs can effectively improve the effectiveness of anticancer therapy. Furthermore, new agents, such as nanoparticles, may show greater efficacy, and better targeting, hence, less side effects on healthy cells. Based on these results, nanochrysin it offers as new and effective drug delivery system. Moreover, it has been reported that chrysin is a potential antitumor but also an adjuvant agent that can be used in combination with other antimetastatic substances to reduce tumor metastasis. Muchomor, Lis i Żyd - jak Trzecia Rzesza wykorzystywała książki dla najmłodszych do budowania postaw rasistowskich u dzieci

    Get PDF

    Quest for hyperheavy toroidal nuclei

    Get PDF
We investigate the possibility of observing toroidal breakup configurations in Au+Au collisions using the CHIMERA multidetector system. BUU simulations indicate that the threshold energy for toroidal configuration formation is around 23 MeV/nucleon. The simulations of the Decay process using the static model code ETNA indicate the sensitivity of some observables to different studied break-up geometries

    KATANA : a charge-sensitive trigger/veto array for the SπS\pi RIT TPC

    Get PDF
KATANA — the Krak´ow Array for Triggering with Amplitude discrimiNAtion, has been built and used as a trigger and veto detector for the SπRIT TPC at RIKEN. Its construction allows operating in magnetic field, providing fast response for ionizing particles and giving the approximate multiplicity and charge information on forward emitted reaction products. Depending on this information, trigger and veto signals are generated. Multi-Pixel Photon Counters were used as light sensors for plastic scintillators. Custom designed front-end and peripheral electronics will be presented as well
