Evolution of the risk perception of infection by COVID-19 – Evidence from the COVID-19 Barometer: Social Opinion

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, several non-phar-maceutical interventions (NPI) have been adopted worldwide in an attempt to keep the growing transmission of the virus under control. Several factors might influence the effectiveness of NPI. This study aimed to evaluate the evolution of the perception of the risk of infection by COVID-19 in Portugal between March 2020 and March 2022, and to identify associated factors. We used the "Covid-19 Barometer: Social Opinion" barometer, which was launched at the beginning of the pan-demic in Portugal to identify and monitor the evolution of the Portuguese population's perception of the pandemic and its impact on daily life and was online during two years. We also considered COVID-19 incidence, stringency data, COVID-19 variants’ prevalence and Google searches on COVID-19.The outcome considered was the per-ceived risk of infection by COVID-19, which was classified into low versus high/moderate. The explanatory variables from the Barometer were grouped into dimensions: general factors (socio-demographic and health-related variables), adherence to protection measures, vaccine hesitancy and coping mechanisms.Considering the nature of this study and the outcome variable, generalized linear models were used to study the temporal evolution of the considered variables – in particular, mixed effects logistic regressions. One model was fit per group of vari-ables/dimension. Preliminary results show that, linked to a higher risk perception are lower levels of education, poor health status and working full-time at the workplace (as opposed to remote working) – the last two with a growing tendency over time. On the other hand, individuals with a previous COVID-19 diagnosis and a better mental health status are more likely to perceive lower risks, a propensity that diminishes over time.Students and unemployed individuals are also more likely to have a lower perception of risk, when compared to employed individuals of the same age and sex. A ARTE ATRÁS DO PALCO: CAMINHOS DOMÉSTICOS DO CANTADOR JOÃO SIQUEIRA DE AMORIM E A MEMÓRIA DE DONA RAIMUNDA SIQUEIRA DE AMORIM

This article is the result of the work of a larger research, produced during my participation in scientific initiation scholarships on popular cultures and northeastern singing, which resulted in my course conclusion work in History, at the State University of Ceará, in 2016. Namely, the monograph is entitled “The Life Paths of João Siqueira de Amorim: construction of the singer-narrator of the imagined singing (1947-1967)”. What will be presented here is a fragment that led us to important reflections on the singer's life trajectory, revealed in the "hot" of doing by doing. From, above all, the desire to investigate the unsaid by the singer Siqueira de Amorim in his journalistic-literary public writings. Mapping the “domestic field” - opportunely omitted from his chronicles published in periodicals of the time - and listening to those who lived with and contributed to the construction of Siqueira's professional trajectory, raised the investigation to a greater complexity of analysis and guaranteed new contours to what was already cataloged as a primary source. There was a lack of living memory, speech aged by time, the confirmation of the selectivity of what was experienced. It was essential, therefore, to appropriate the interview made with Mrs Raimunda Mariano de Amorim, wife of the singer João Siqueira de Amorim, to understand the details and sensibilities of the historicity of our object. The path towards the interpretive possibilities of her choices and subjectivities became clearer when we assumed the need to document the widow's oral and mnemonic record. Here, we use the contributions suggested by Oral History as a tool that allowed us to expand the methodological and theoretical contribution from which we analyzed the life trajectory of this “song narrator” who did not make his way alone. On the contrary, he counted on the discreet, albeit strongly engaged, participation of his then wife to sustain the harshness found behind the scenes of João Siqueira's artistic work, on which there was no spotlight.Este artigo é fruto do trabalho de uma pesquisa maior, produzida durante minha participação em bolsas de iniciação científica sobres culturas populares e cantoria nordestina, que resultou no meu trabalho de conclusão de curso em História, pela Universidade Estadual do Ceará, em 2016. A saber, a monografia é intitulada “Os Caminhos da Vida de João Siqueira de Amorim: construção do cantador-narrador da cantoria imaginada (1947-1967)”. O que será apresentado, aqui, é um fragmento que nos conduziu a reflexões importantes sobre a trajetória de vida do cantador, reveladas no “quente” do fazer fazendo. A partir, sobretudo, do desejo de investigar o não-dito pelo cantador Siqueira de Amorim em seus escritos público jornalístico-literários. Mapear o “campo doméstico” - oportunamente omitido das suas crônicas publicadas em periódicos da época - e escutar quem conviveu e contribuiu para a construção da trajetória profissional de Siqueira, elevou a investigação a uma maior complexidade de análise e garantiu novos contornos àquilo que já estava catalogado enquanto fonte primária. Faltava a memória viva, a fala envelhecida pelo tempo, a constatação da seletividade do que foi experienciado. Revelou-se fundamental, portanto, apropriarmo-nos da entrevista feita com a senhora Raimunda Mariano de Amorim, esposa do cantador João Siqueira de Amorim, para compreendermos as minúcias e sensibilidades da historicidade do nosso objeto. O percurso para as possibilidades interpretativas de suas escolhas e subjetividades ficou mais nítido ao assumirmos a necessidade de documentar o registro oral e mnemônico da viúva. Lançamos mão, aqui, das contribuições sugeridas pela História Oral como ferramenta que nos permitiu expandirmos o aporte metodológico e teórico a partir do qual analisamos a trajetória de vida desse “narrador de cantorias” que não costurou seu caminho sozinho. A análise de tempo em Ticuna (Tikuna) Revisitada: questões sobre anáfora temporal e sequenciamento temporal

This paper addresses some open questions left in Soares (2005), in which we claimed that it would be worth investigating whether or not tense in Ticuna (Tikuna) could be seen as centered around in the existence of temporal entities found in the language itself. Such questioning necessarily leads to the search for data related to temporal anaphora and to anaphoric phenomena in general. This is the type of data which, if found, will cast doubt on the approach which just conceives tense as a temporal dimension constructed from operators belonging to a metalanguage. Our main aim in this article is, then, to verify the existence or non-existence of sequence-of-tense (SOT) and, consequently, the possibilities of temporal anaphora realization in this language.  ---DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.31513/linguistica.2017.v13n2a14035Este trabalho retoma questões abertas em Soares (2005), trabalho em que afrmamos que caberia investigar se o tempo em Ticuna (Tikuna), ao invés de ser concebido como uma dimensão temporal construída a partir de operadores pertencentes a uma metalíngua, poderia ser visto como centrado na existência de entidades temporais na própria língua. Um tal questionamento leva necessariamente à busca por dados relativos à anáfora temporal e a fenômenos anafóricos de modo geral, colocando difculdades para uma abordagem do tempo a partir de operadores. Tendo como referência o povo Ticuna (Tikuna) e sua língua, este artigo focaliza três lugares propiciadores de encontros na produção de sentidos: traduções, acervos e elaboração de material didático em contexto indígena. Na base da focalização efetuada está a preocupação com a aproximação, pela via dos sentidos, de um Outro cujas referências de representação são diferentes daquelas do analista e cuja língua materna apresenta características de superfície que se revelam como mais afastadas daquelas a que o analista sistematicamente recorre como parte de seu próprio universo linguístico primeiro. O artigo ensaia uma resposta para a questão da aproximação dos sentidos, chamando a atenção para a articulação da dimensão linguística com outras dimensões permeadas de sentidos

Áreas Linguísticas da América Latina: Uma Introdução ao Tema

O textos desta apresentação e os quatro incluídos neste volume da revista Linguas Indígenas Americanas (LIAMES) foram apresentados durante a mesa-redonda "Áreas Linguísticas da América Latina: Novas Perspectivas de Estudo" ocorrida em 17 de novembro de 1999, no quadro do XI Congresso da Associação de Estudos da Linguagem od estado do Rio de Janeiro (ASSEL-Rio), realizado na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).  Os quatro textos aqui apresentados trazem uma conttribuição própria e se colocam, nos pontos que os une e naqueles que os distinguem como peças importantes de reflexão; uma reflexão que, levando em conta a realidade linguística da América Latina, pode-se dar sobre aspectos potenciais de pesquisa conjunta e sobre o levantamento de informações/constituição de arquivos e bases de dados
