Teollinen kulttuuriperintö vakiintui suomalaiseen historiatietoisuuteen

The cultural heritage value is based on history. Industrial heritage is a relatively young phenomenon in Finland. It emerged in late the 1970s. The concepts, definitions and practice of industrial heritage, were adopted to Finland from Sweden. The first industrial heritage sites were proto-industrial ironworks, but during the late 1970&rsquo;s and early 1980&rsquo;s the factories and industrial landscapes were included in the definition. The area covered by the concept was expanded in the 1980s. The oral traditions of the working class dominated the field of the intangible industrial cultural heritage for a couple of decades. Today, the concept of industrial heritage covers many different perspectives. It took three decades to integrate the consciousness of industrial heritage into the Finnish history culture. The Finnish key concepts of the Industrial Heritage were coined as late as in the early 2000&rsquo;s. Tilaushistoria identiteettityönä ja kulttuuriperintöprosessina – Paikallisen historiapolitiikan tarkastelua

This article is concerned with commissioned histories and the use of histories. Cultural heritage is created and recreated in a process of the identity work, where a heritage community uses different histories to add the cultural value of the remnants of the past. A heritage community is a participating group of actors, involved in a certain process of identity work, and voluntarily taking part in the cultural heritage production. The members of heritage communities use different kinds of histories for to consolidate their sense of ownership of the remnants of their own past and for to strengthen their sense of belonging and togetherness. A heritage community can be either local or translocal. In this article I introduce three different types of identity work and clarify how they interact in the process of cultural heritage. I also give some new methodological tools for the researchers, who want to understand the emergence of temporary heritage communities and who are interested in the cultural heritage production &ldquo;from below&rdquo;. &nbsp;</p

Tilaushistoria identiteettityönä ja kulttuuriperintöprosessina: Paikallisen historiapolitiikan tarkastelua

Tässä artikkelissa tarkastelen kolmen osallistuvasti havainnoimani ja johtamani tilaushistoriahankkeen tuottaman aineiston valossa paikallista historiapolitiikkaa ja paikallishistoriallista identiteettityötä. Artikkeli etenee keskeisten käsitteiden määritelmistä ja tutkimuskysymyksistä historiankirjoituksen typologisointeihin ja tilaushistoriatapausten kuvailuun ja päättyy yritykseen mallintaa kulttuuriperintöä ylläpitävän identiteettityön lajeja ja kulttuuriperintöprosessin logiikkaa
